- READ FIRST:
Garbage trains (R32 + R134), transfer trains (R62A, R160A, and R179), work trains, etc. Towards the end, an emergency G.O. took effect, closing down the southbound track from 207th Street to 168th Street, necessitating a wrong-rail shuttle train running on about a 30 minute interval. Enjoy the action =)
I was with:
/ @nyctarailfan (Ben)
Check him out!
never would i ever thought a train this old would be on the tracks again. brings back memories of my childhood
I love how the first R32 on the first garbage train has "4" as it's route.
Because that's pickup #4.
It said 3...didn't it? Also, your channel picture represents the silver line from the DC Metro.
BenTheMiner / MTA Railfanner It says 4, but I see how it could have been easily mistaken. Yes, my profile pic is the Silver Line route bullet.
SO WEIRD! MY MIND MADE IT SAY 3!
BenTheMiner / MTA Railfanner the 2nd R32 says " 3 " but the first one says " 4 "
The part in the end with he man and woman kissing each other goodbye was priceless.
These garbage trains are in the line
Me be like :what th hell im late for bed
Great video. You caught some nice action!
simply awesome. thanks for sharing.
Um One of the maintenance trains has bells, Subway trains don’t have bells-
Good Sightings!
Question: Time increment: 6:33 the three locomotives pulling 4 subway cars and one locomotive at the end, I see a train air hose going onto the subway train. Does it connect to an air fitting to operate the train air brakes on the subway cars, or does it just go to the last locomotive, so if the cars come uncoupled they have a safe stopping system at both ends.
Great work Fan Railer
7:59 There ya go Mate.
Thanks... that train nasty as hell innit
DAMN Nice
Why can't they are 179 be in service now? It looks like they've completed their testing? What's left the announcements? The display? The strip map? They already have the error for the strip map, lines, and destinations.
LOL they're nowhere near done with their FTA-mandated testing period.
Fan Railer yep thats true
0:23 R32 4 TRAIN?!
Those locomotives are pretty cool. Can they run on diesel on the surface?
They are diesel-only locomotives. No third rail mode.
great video shot btw. question, out of all the other videos that shot this one towing the R179s why would they needed four locomotives for?
Nice great work keep it up
nice great work
What are those freighter looking ones called? And do they run on electric or gas? Wouldnt gas pollute the tunnels?
They're called MOW or work trains. They are diesel.
Nice Great job 👍
Emergency G.O.? Not sure what that means.
6:58--takes 4 locos to pull/push 4 empty subway cars? Really?
What time was this taken, because I'm close to there and I want to catch these too
All the cool shit happens after the evening rush hour, between 9 pm and 1 am.
tomorrow lol
0:22 4 train? On a R32 rare
Thats an Garbage Train
I'm confused...what are the R134's for? What does being a RIder Car entail?
R134s are refuse box motors. A rider car is just a de-powered subway car used by work crews for transport.
Again r68 a train?????????????????
Great video! What time was the shot at 6:27 taken at?
11:05 pm. There won't be another move like this until the production cars start coming in though. That'll begin in September, if there are no further delays in testing. But once the bulk of the order starts coming in, this will become a weekly occurrence.
Never seen anything like that @ 5:50 -what was it?
4 locomotives for a 5 car empty set is PATHETIC
When do they usually run the garbage trains? I barely see them and I'm just wondering.
at night.
That's interesting. No wonder I haven't seen a garbage train in a longtime!
Refuse/Garbage trains run at night to avoid interrupting the train service. Sometimes they run in the day, though.
What is an emergency G.O.?
Is that dj?
R 3 2 (4) T r a i n
Why do only a select few sound their horns?
All NYC subway trains that are express on the local track are required to blow their horn
how can they run diesel down there?
They just do man, they just do. I think they might comply with the emissions standards or whatever. I think but I could be wrong
What is that sound at 6:03 to 6:07?
electronic bell
