We were there last month in our VW Campervan. Stayed on the same site. Had better weather than you although heavy rain on our last evening/night. We too walked through the muddy fields to the Arboretum - when we got there they had closed it because of high winds - so it was good to see your visit. We walked back through the fields with our dog as i didn’t fancy the road way. I agree Moreton-In-Marsh is really lovely but spoilt by the heavy traffic on the Fosse Way. We used the bus to go to Stow-on-the-Wold and Bouton-on-the-Water. We ate in the Redesdale Arms which is great - roaring log fire, super food, excellent service and very dog friendly.
Oh no, that’s such a shame that you walked all the way there only to find it was closed. It was a real dilemma as to what was the lesser of two evils between going through the mud again or walking back down the road 😂 We’ve never been to Stow-on-the-Wold, but we loved Bourton-on-the-Water. We filmed a video about our stay there on a site called Cotswold Carp Farm. Yeah we thought Morteon was lovely too, it’s just a shame the Fosse Way is so busy. Thanks for watching 😊
