I just did a two week road trip around Norway. I saw Trondheim, Ålesund, Bergen, Stavanger, Oslo etc. and about the cities Bergen is definitely number one. I want to travel there again some day!

Hope you are wide awake on the next train ride on the Bergen rail! I sat gazing out the windows and taking photos for like five hours straight when we took the trip some weeks ago. Absolutely stunning to watch the landscape shift during the trip. I recommend a detour to Flåm, even though there is a lot (really: a lot) of tourists there. Breathtaking place. Love your videos! Excited to see what you are up to next.
We lived in Bergen for 4 years before moving to Trondheim now... and sun is NOT the norm in Bergen... BUT when it does shine... it is AMAZING there!!! we lived in sentrum about 3 blocks from the big blue stone by Dickens Restaurant... or at least that is what it use to be called... it closed down before we moved but I see in your video it is open again... but not sure if it is still called Dickens... thanks for the video!!
@@willrichardson519 It's more that the rest of us will buy the same stuff in different places. If you ask google maps for "fetevare" you'll find a shop that has most of the same stuff at a lower price, some 200m from the fish market...
The two door concept is not for safety. You will find this in many Norwegian homes, and it's for protection against weather. When there's lots of snow, freezing temperature and really windy outside you can open the outer door and not chill down the entire house (and not get snow in the rest of the house).
Our trip this summer started in beautiful Bergen. We spent $40 in Daugavpils, Latvia for the same or more food in Bergen that cost us $100. So happy for you that you didn't get much rain while at Europe's rainiest city.
As a local, we never buy anything at the fish market! It’s way pricey! But the grosery store across the street from the tourist information (REMA 1000) you get super fresh seafood for the third of the price!

I am From Australia, I missed the train, Bergen is a delightful city. I love the harbour around the fish market Everybody here who has been there loves it. The view from the top of that hill across the fiord is stinking . If I go again maybe next year I will check this out again . This place is a real gem . I wish I had studied about it more because 2 days is not enough. Well done guys really fascinating .. I love those buildings on the harbour. I had dinner in a bar in one of those wooden buildings on the harbour.IAir B&B’s are making such a difference to exploring places like Bergen.
Ashlee I am a redhead so I totally understand the dry skin. I use Britian coconut oil Britian being the brand anyway it comes in a tin. It's cheap and lasts me a year and I use just hot water on a cloth to wash away makeup. I don't know if this helps but it is the best way for me with my over sensitive dried out skin.
Nice, you wandered around my old neighbourhood (1:30), I love this town so so much :D Also LOL I had that exact type of kitchen the four months my old job forced me to live in Oslo. This is the first time I've seen it since that time (which is over a decade ago).
Mom’s hometown. She says it was a great place to grow up, but the years 1940-1945 were kind of rough. She lived at the last stop before the top of Fløibanen, Skansemyren.
Bergen, finally!!! 😄 I hope, you enjoy it, like I did! I went hiking onto the highest of the mountains (Ulrikken) the very day I arrived. I had local Friends guiding me of course, otherwise I wouldn't have found the way to the top …
LOVED Bergen! Such an adorable place to just wander around and explore. I found Godt Brod a delicious option for not too expensive lunches. Look forward to seeing what else you guys got up to while there.
Bergen looks wonderful in the summer months. I have only ever visited in the winter months, which is equally beautiful. I really like that fish market, and I wouldn't be surprised if thats whale meat at 8:08. Also, I love how Bergensers speak English. Excellent diction and amazing pronounciation, possibly my favourite English pronounication in the world.
You should take the train from Bergen to Voss. There you can take a gondola from the train station and up to a mountain where they also have a restaurant that serves local food :)

King Crabs are not native but have taken over pretty much the area. Just watched a documentary on it, they got there from ballast on a ship they think.
I've been to Bergen it's a lovely place I would suggest the funicular railway because there's a good view at the top also go to mydral by train and then get the train to flam it's beautiful view plus a women sings half way down on the trip

It's a long time since you were in Bergen now.. but right across from kebabhuset there's a restaurant called cafe sepesial, and that is one of the cheapest restaurants in Bergen. It's a place most students go to eat out, because it's so cheap. And the food is good to ❤

Funfact: the tube kaviar isn't the expensive, famous Russian one, it's a cheaper, more affordable pink kind. Norwegians eat it all the time on open sandwiches :) .
FYI Bergen is not between 7 mountains. The city Center is. It was called the city between the 7 mountains in the 1700s by Ludwig Holberg. A lot has changed since then...Today the city center is probably like 10% of the total city. Most of it is outside of the mountains. Actually Bergen is larger than Oslo in size
You guys also like to collect art from around the world. Cool. I buy stuff and get them framed when I get back to hang up. My family think I have too many paintings hung up. LOL.

Hope you enjoyed your stay in Norway 🇳🇴 Happy to see so many positive comments about my country ❤️ If you come to Oslo I recommend Grünerløkka for nice, special shopping boutiques, great food, wonderful small parks and a beautiful stroll alongside the small river Akerselva. In late spring or summer i recommend the queens garden behind the castle in city centre (free). And walk on the roof of our Opera.
The fish marked and the "Food hall" situated at the same place, doesn't work as anything else than a tourist trap. It is really expensive, and people living in Bergen rarely / never eat/buy anything there.
Bergen is more beautiful than Oslo but the 99% cloudiness and rain throughout the year makes it tough for most to justify aiming to live there. Oslo is the least appealing of the major Nordic cities but it's got the largest population in Norway, the most international, most job opportunities, etc. and weather isn't quite as dreary as Bergen and some other Norwegian cities.

In the spirit of better late than never, I just wanted to share with you a reason for why the food's so expensive. The Norwegian farms are small and very expensive compared to farms in larger countries. To protect the national food production (made on these tiny farms), large food tolls makes local production competitive with more industrial farming from outside the borders. And, to be honest, I prefer it this way since I think it's healthier for everyone. Yes, it's different but realize more and more that different is more than ok as long as it does something good.
I found in Trondheim, Norway, the best cheap food was in 7-Eleven. I wouldn’t imagine eating food from there at home, but in Trondheim and Copenhagen, it was very fresh and cheap! Other fast food just wasn’t good at all.

You should take the NORLED "Hurtigbåt" to Flåm - Stunning costal and fjord landscape through Sognefjord. From there you can continue to Oslo with Flåmbanen, one of the most scenic train rides in Europe :-)
I hope you do not flush those wipes even if the packet says that they are, they are not, they clog the sewage system by blocking pumps and combining with fat to form fatbergs. Apart from toilet paper if it doesn't come out of your body don't put it down the toilet. they also have an high plastic content.

Bring a lil bit of everything. one day it can be 25 degrees and sun and the next day it can be rain and 15 degrees. weather is very unstable.

The temp had varied a lot from sweating in shorts to bundled up on a jacket and dodging rain clouds.
