I sometimes hand-wash them and it gets the stains and pen marks out most of the time but it depends what you use to wash it! I hope you find a way if this doesn't work for you

I put mine through the wash on cold with some towels! Set it out to dry. Or you could hand wash it with laundry soap or stain remover spray. Mine went through the wash fine though.
