I really appreciate this information! 🤗 I just started taking creatine, and like you said there is a ridiculously large amount of information /research done on it. So having it narrowed in on the benefits/research for women was extremely helpful. Thank you again...😊
I may have missed it in the podcast, but is there a _significant_ benefit to menopausal women in terms of gaining muscle when they take creatine? Also, I’ve heard that it definitely helps build bone is post menopausal women. I’m so thankful that I can research supplements myself and not have to run them by a medical team that isn’t knowledgeable or doesn’t have my best interest in mind, but I understand why you have to say that so many times! 😅 Thanks for the info!
Thanks Steph- great info. I always appreciate you reading the papers for me ( cause I can't get through them🤣). I just sent an email to my ND and if I get the go ahead I'll put in a legion order- I've got to restock my protein powder anyway.
I'm glad it was helpful Mia! Happy to share the big takeaways with all of you. Stay tuned for the new episode I have coming tomorrow on creatine, bone health and the brain with researcher Dr Darren Candow. I think you'll enjoy that one too!
I've gained 6 pounds in 3 weeks from taking creatine! Avg of 2.5 to 3g per day. I'll need to come off. I can't see the numbers rising like this. It's horrible. 6 pounds isn't slight. I'm on OMAD and eat mostly protein and fat. Carbs on the weekend. I'm not overeating.
If you aren't in a calorie surplus, the weight is unlikely to be from fat and most likely to be from water. It will usually settle out. If you're in a weight class sport, seeing the scale go up could be more of a concern, but if not, again, this is unlikely to be from fat mass increase unless there's a surplus of calories. Highly recommend checking out this meta-analysis: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33467377/

Here's the paper from this year on adults under 50 (the other one is adults over 50) www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/15/20/4343
Great. Thanks!
I’ve been taking creatine for the last 6 days. There’s no significant weight gain
Really informative! If I take the daily small dose, do I ever stop or continue taking it for forever? 🤭

Any studies on creatine in pubescent girls?
I had to unsub due to the extreme frequency of ads.
Unfortunately creatine gives me insomnia.
