  • Today I hired a car and went off toward the north of the island of Tenerife to explore two abandoned hotels.
    The first was Hotel Añaza.
An abandoned structure of a hotel or apartment block near Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. Construction was started by a German company in 1973, but was abandoned two years later, before the building was finished.
As of my visit in February 2022 the structure still exists, but it is pending demolition.I found it strange the hotels location, just seemed a bit too remote !
Well worth a visit, but beware there are multiple manhole sized, uncovered holes on each floor.
The second hotel was the Hotel Tenerife Tour, about a 20 minute drive south from the Hotel Anaza. This time, the abandoned hotel was front line, sitting on the black sand beach of Las Caletillas. The hotel offers a ground level main building and a number of bungalows with 96 double rooms, which are spread over the terraced and spacious garden areas. The hotel opened in 1968 and closed in 2011.
If you know of any other abandoned hotels to explore in Tenerife, please let me know :-)
    Thanks and enjoy !
