oo ABOUT NICK MASON AND THE SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS oo
Nick Mason, Gary Kemp, Guy Pratt, Lee Harris and Dom Beken, aka Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets, came together with the simple idea of playing some early Pink Floyd - the songs pre ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ - that had not been given a live outing for decades! This was the first time Nick had played live since Live 8 in 2005! “Why don’t we get a rehearsal room and play some things and see how we feel about it?” Nick suggested...
A few months later, on Sunday 20 May 2018, Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets took Pink Floyd’s drummer back to the clubs for the first time since 1967 - Dingwalls in Camden, London. The performance was met with huge adulation across the board**.
Three nights at the Half Moon in Putney followed that same week before announcing a theatre tour through the UK, North America and Europe from September, and they promptly sold out! A handful of extra UK shows were announced for April and May 2019, including two nights at The Roundhouse - the venue where Pink Floyd first played on 15 October 1966, at the International Times launch party.

I think Nick Mason enjoys playing Floyd tunes with a group of people that actually get along. It’s great seeing him smile this much while playing!

@@123limelight He has no problem with Waters, either. The fight is between Gilmour and Waters. It's an ego conflict - and Mason is too cool for that.

Nick mason is a genius, he knows exactly what people want to see from a pink floyd show and he executes perfectly, spectacular show

@@Alpha_7227i cant tell you them all but i can tell you the 2 guys at the front are guy pratt who replaced roger waters as pink floyds bassist back in the day and gary kemp of spandau ballet fame
One of my favorite Pink Floyd songs. It is probably one of their most underrated gems. The guys do a great version of it here. I love the piano flourished throughout.
This Album Is a Masterpiece along with Obscured By Clouds and Animals as my Floyd Top 3 in no particular order.

This song reminds me of my grandpa. He managed to live until 92 (died two weeks ago) and keep up with all 42 of his grandchildren. He was a real inspiration in my life and would go out of his way to help each of the 42 with whatever they needed no matter what time of the year it was. He was the most fearless person I have ever met in my entire life. Rest in Peace.

I'm so grateful to Nick for making this music alive again. No other member of the Floyd would have done this. If Rick were alive and the Floyd got back together, they would not be doing this. This fantastic music, so lively, tuneful, warm and beautiful, would remain a dimly remembered artifact if not for Nick's inspired decision to tour it again. Thanks, Nick, you're a good man.

Fantastic version with Gary Kemp singing and playing guitar. Amazing to see him still going strong and in such good voice. Beautiful phrasing with plenty of character, Gary really does the song justice. Well done to Nick Mason and all the rest of the band for bringing this track back to the public arena. Loved it!!
The basist is having the time of his life. He toured with David Gilmour, Now playing along with Nick Mason. ❤❤ happy to see Nick smiling like that, man.
Guy Pratt also played bass when Floyd were playing gigs without Waters 1994 or so.
he was PF bassist for delicate sounds of thunder and the division bell tours also........ 1988 and 1994 respectively. (toured with mason for over 30 years)
@Komitet dont forget dream academy! another alum of dream academy, nick laird clowes, helped write alot of material for dave gilmour era floyd... plus gilmour produced DA's first album. pratt did the bass on madonna's like a prayer. MJ heard the bass on there, and went out to get guy to play on the earth song.

Why are so many people bitching about Gary kemp, I thought this was a good version of this underrated song from meddle, one of my favourite Floyd albums. If you go to see waters or gilmour you won't hear them playing this song, people just need to relax and enjoy his interpretation of the song.
Didn't Roger play it in his new us + them concerts?

Great stuff. Great to see Nick enjoying himself. I know that the vocals are never going to be the same but that misses the point, which is to keep this music alive.
I saw them in Portsmouth last year and will be in Southampton later this year.
This music is not being kept alive through this. Those who listen to this will continue to do so until their demise. This will not spark new interest from younger generations however i wish it would. But there is just not much you can do about it except for talking about it to other people. A person that has never heard Floyd before would never go to a concert like this and the interest wouldn't even be there either.
DIDUKNOWDAT .URANIDIOT?, I’m not quite so pessimistic as this. The age range at the gig I was at last year was very broad and I’m sure there were many young people who were coming into the music for the first time.

Nick's drum kit is so freakin' awesome looking and sounding.
I've been to countless concerts. More than the average bear. This was in my top 3 if not #1 shows I've ever been to for several reasons. On top of it being so very special.to me. I love the old Floyd the best and it was my first time seeing any member of the Floyd. It took my breath away and I teared up with joy.
Oh, and I was offered a free ticket by a stranger in front of the venue but I already had one . Then got to meet Nick unexpectedly after the show in the alley behind the theater and got his autograph. Holy wow!

Looks like a great time! I hope I'm fortunate enough to get to go someday. Other than an actual reunion show with the 3 surviving members this is the show I want to see the most out of any show there is by any band!

Saw these guys in brighton last week and it was absolutely incredible. Only been into floyd for 2 years so far, managed to see roger last year, nick last week and david in October at the royal albert hall.
Didn't pay much attention to the albums before dark side but in the build up to seeing nick I listened to them alot and they are so under rated. This song in particular is now one of my favourites and to see echoes live and performed so well was an absolute treat.. Hopefully I get the chance to see them all again ❤

Nice to see a show about the music rather than the mega arena light show spectacle. The songs have a tenderness and emotion with the two egos removed from the picture.
Saw them in Manchester Apollo (the Apollo is one of those venues you wipe your feet on the way out,awful) Guy Pratt’s son was in the audience as he’s at University in Manchester. What a great night it was. Nick is amazing on the skins at his age.
Need to see these guys live. Gary Kemp is a great addition to the lineup, very underrated musician.

The quality of this band is amazing. I bought the album.
Was at the show in Phoenix, AZ March 2019. Wonderful show, felt like a once in a lifetime kind of concert. Being able to hear Fearless live was special. Your not a true Floyd fan if you don't know that song, or the album its on. Cheers to Nick Mason for giving the younger generation of Floyd fans a chance to see some deep cuts live. It really felt like a dream come true.
All the band is amazing, the keyboard player Dom Beken, is just perfect, i believe Richard is the most difficult to cover, he had such a special soulful way of playing, thank you Nick for not letting die, the real Pink Floyd
