@@Chris_Hood Thanks Hood. My kid and I were yelling too. That’s what makes GTR so fun. I should have known something like this could happen since it took me 4 laps to qualify. Lmao. Thanks again Chris.
Man what a tough course! Always a thrill to watch to see who’s gonna keep it smooth and bring home the victory. Glad to see BayCity to finally got his rhythm down, even though a bit too late. Congrats to those moving on and great job Richard and Air! 👍
They say grief is the price of love, so too was a price to be paid by a mere racing fan, seeing three well-known racers in the same group. The two here from today that moved on didn't just compete, they _survived!_ Lots of adult language from me on this side of the screen At least it comes from a well-intended place Good to see the local boy do well--to face against Numbskull and match him in points, that's a real accomplishment in diecast racing! Kudos!
Very tough competition today at Shavano Mountain!!! Is good to see how builders are getting better and can stay in contention with the more experienced drivers!! SUPERB production as always!!! Thanks GTR!!!
Mesa Butte was *relentless* today! Overcook the drift and you'll end up in the "Dust Bowl" at the centre The track as a whole was hungry, stalking everyone over the smallest error made!
This is such a great race series, so much unpredictable fun. Congrats Numbskull and Isley. Tough day at the office for some. Glad to see Bay City have some success at the end there. Consistency. James Ironbeard racked up 3 points in every race but two that he DNF'd (R1, R8). If he scored 3 in R1 and R8 he would have won by one point with 24. Great show 🏁
I think I saw his crew putting the heated sleeping bags on J. Smoke's tires, just like in F1 racing. They had your hood open, but they weren't wrenching or hammering on it.
Man,being from Sacramento, California I was hoping Bay City Darrell would have done a little better, however as always this was another great race, thanks and we'll see ya next time

This was like Baja Bouncer Survivor! Great racing! This Baja Bouncer series has been spectacular thus far; it seems like it's had consistently good drifting, some high speed runs, and a clinic on consistency being rewarded. I feel like some of the cars are going almost too fast, and taking themselves off of the track, is that correct? I like that maybe speed isn't everything, there's the drifting and having to find that racer's edge between speed and control. And that probably comes from the unique and well designed track.
It is _entirely possible_ to build "too fast," even for a dragstrip race. On this unique course, it's consistency and control that win the day, plus a smidge of luck! A good drifting line is nice, I have seen some vehicles take a nearly straight line through Mesa Butte which can pay dividends on the runs involving more points on the train jump
@@Dromio trucks are going to need a different approach in building compared to sedans, wagons, rally cars etc. The Baja Bouncer naturally rides higher than even most trucks its size in 1/64 scale so the challenge creeps ever upward. Managing weight distribution and centre of gravity become even more critical here, in addition to crafting a suspension that is not too loose to drift nor too stiff to withstand The Scrambler. It's a *supreme test* of building skill for certain!
You know you are very correct. Johnny Smoke seems to be on the edge of the line as seen in the time trials. Group 8. He has never moved on to round 2 yet. Let's see what the next race brings. Great comment.
@@Chris_Hood Well said Chris. I'm in group 8. I hope he does a warm up race first to get the dust off. I actually beat Sneaky Bob in the time trials while on the inside drift lane, but the outside Joker lane slowed me down. We shall see.

Am I crazy... let me rephrase that: I remember a race here (not long ago, I reckon) where the red flag was thrown because a vehicle jumped the lane and made illegal contact.
No disrespect i love the channel. but i suggest the last straight should be changed to a different design because it sabotages the vehicles heavily. I also suggest you should add time gap on the trucks. Give more data on the race. Almost like marbula one but not that extent i like the simplicity of the cars but the stats are key.
Thanks for the feedback. Im afraid the last straight (aka Scrambler) is there to stay. It challenges the builders to do more than make a car fast. I love the gap time thought, but it'll take some research to figure out how to change the code to accommodate that. I'll ask around.
I blame El Nino, the rotation of the earth, a small black hole zipping nearby at the time of filming, the foul ministrations of arcane powers from beyond time itself That was a difficult watch from up in the grandstands; I can't begin to imagine how much more it was for you You'll get 'em next time, slugger!
I'm feeling for ya, man! This may or may not be the right time to share my observations. I believe your suspension is a little too tight, and why it jumped the snow lane, the big-U barrier, and didn't finish that one time you were WAY ahead. Hit me up on Messenger if you want.
