I respect Rabbi Singer although I don't agree with everything he says. However, let's be clear and fair as a former Christian Yeshua ha notzeri never told his Talmidi a date of his return 😂. That's not recorded in Synoptics. Just because Paul who never met Yeshua presumed he was coming/ returning in his generation that's Paul's mis-calculation among other things 😂

One could argue that there was no Christian literature until after the Jewish-Roman war of 70AD and that Christianity was an invention of the Emperor Titus in response to that war. Read 'Caesar's Messiah" by Joseph Atwill.

No Luke was writing while Paul was in custody of the romans. It takes a while to get around to the people considering the times. Also, there were no Mas publications yet, so there was probably only one copy or at least very few.

In the Tanach, I forget which book, but there is the story of Israel being threatened by a huge army. And it says that over night an angel came and slaughtered the entire army to help save Israel. So… then why didn’t God help save all the Jews/ Israelites from the horrible holocaust? Why did God allow millions of those poor Jews to be murdered? God saved them in the past, as it is written, but during WW 2 …. Nothing, no help?

Simply put--it's a matter of whether we deserved to be saved or not. There's also the part of the exile called "hastoras panim" where G-d hides his face, so to speak. Before the holocaust, assimilation was rampant and strange isms (communism, zionism) had infiltrated the Jewish community, to the extent that the Torah observant were ridiculed and considered dying relics. With the holocaust, alternative Jewish movements (reform, conservative) within the Jewish communities (except for Zionism), lost their mojo. The abject failure of Zionism is playing itself out now.
While the original Jesus-believers didn't evangelize, Paul did. He was permitted to spread the "good news" of the coming eschaton to non-Jews. Since no Jew was interested in rejecting Mosaic Law for a "new covenant' but pagans had no reason to reject it, the movement blossomed among non-Jews. Christians have been evangelizing ever since, often at the point of their swords.

Who wrote the book of Acts seems to be a question for thought on this post. We who believe in Jesus Christ believe that the writers were led by the Spirit of God. They had obeyed and responded to what Jesus said. Go and wait for the promise til you are endued with power.
The power was a Joel 2:27-29 was prophesied, And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. First it was the Jews who received the promise in Acts 2:38. The fulfillment of Joel 2:27-29.
Through the fulfillment of the scripture As the Lord professed through His Prophet Jews were endued and 3000 were added to the church. To the Jew first, who believes in The risen Christ.
If there is no faith, there is no gift received. So Just as Moses wrote and some believe that Ezra wrote them. We believe that the time and era of their writings will not be affected when God is the Author. We in our finite mind, like to look at things from a more logical point of view but then where does faith come in. They want us to believe Jesus was back tracked and added into the bible to fit OT because of time gaps. Under the premises that Paul didn't teach Torah, nor did jesus.

These same God and Son of God stories originated in ancient Babylon and Syria. Nanna, Ningal and Nusku were worshipped as a triad or trinity around 2285-2250 BCE. This veneration focused on the father and Son. Christianity is a direct derivation of these same myths. Shroud or no shroud, it's all still man-made myth religion just like in the ancient world. Easter gets its very name from the Babylonian goddess Ishtar - goddess of love and fertility, hence the rabbit and egg references made for this man-made holiday. The concept of a God and Son of God savior is not new - modern religion just gives it a new name - Jesus. No one is going to save us; it's been myth from jump.
The rabbi says that Mark was written in the 70s. But there does not seem to be any information in the book of Mark itself that suggests its date of writing. I'm sure there was some time between when it was originally written and when it was published. Are any of you authors? Then you know it takes a while to compile your thoughts, look for improvements, get it edited, and then published. And back then there were no word processors, there was no emails, there were no professional editing committees. Everything we take for granted today was painfully slow. So I'm sure it was many years if not decades between writing and publishing back then.
Rabbi does not just pull these figures out of thin air. The dates that he quotes are from reliable, verified scholarly sources. The scholars are, in the majority, Jesus-worshipers.
Historians use a variety of methods to determine when a document was written, including the syntax and diction that the writer chose, in addition to correlating different versions or editions of the document.

Yes, I keep hearing these "experts" say when the gospels were supposedly written. But they don't say how anyone could possibly know that. They can possibly know when it was released or published because then there are records of others knowing of it. But they can't possibly know when Mark first sat down with pen in hand and started to write or when he finished writing. Mark may have held onto it for a decade before letting others have it. It's also possible that it was released upon the death of Mark which is not when he actually wrote it.
Thank you again for a very interesting teaching. I would say from the Christian standpoint that this issue was addressed to Jesus's 1st century Jewish followers by Peter in his second epistle. Much different than his first epistle, which was professionally scribed, he wrote this one out quickly himself just prior to his death. He specifically tells his audience- other Jews who were believers that Jesus was the Messiah but had not been during His ministry- that his witness was true and that Jesus will be returning as He said.
2 Peter 1:12-21
12 For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth. 13 Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you, 14 knowing that shortly I must put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me. 15 Moreover I will be careful to ensure that you always have a reminder of these things after my decease.
16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” 18 And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.
19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
The problem here is that there is considerable dispute that Peter, an illiterate fisherman could write in Aramaic, much less in a highly literate form of Koine Greek. While many people in Galilee might know some basic Greek in the 1st Century, this was a street form of the language, highly ungrammatical and poorly composed, used for interactions say in a marketplace to buy food or other goods. The language in both epistles is highly literate and calls upon themes expressed in several of Paul's letters which Peter would not have had access to prior to his death. The letter contains highly developed rhetorical and philosophical techniques, indicating whoever wrote them had an extensive education in Greek philosophy.
Whoever wrote these works was not a native speaker of Aramaic, he was a native speaker of Greek and was well educated in Greek. References to the letters start to appear around 110 CE in the writings of the various Church Fathers. The letters also indicate that Peter wrote them from Babylon. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that Peter or any of the people he allegedly traveled with were ever in Babylon. The consensus of scholars is that the letters were written in Rome, possibly around 80CE because of references to persecutions which are more extensive than the actions of Nero directed at shifting blame from himself to the Christians concerning the fire.
Your entire argument here is based on presupposing that Christian dogma claiming that Peter wrote these epistles is true. Something that has no evidence to support it.
@@johnpetry5321 It claims to be from Peter and the original recipients knew it to be Peter. They were so certain of this that it has been a part of the collected letters known as the New Testament for as long as any other epistles. These were first century Jews, many of whom would have known Peter personally. Who are you to come by 2000 years later and second guess? You have literally NOTHING new to add other than speculation so I'm going with what believers have always known.

However the scribe pieced Peter’s line of thought into this letter.
Peter also acknowledges prior, that the apostles were chosen before they were born, that they alone were witness to His Majesty, and to not listen to personal interpretation as is the case of Protestantism whose construct is not Truth but opposition to the authority of apostolic succession and faithful to the Gospel.

My take on Yeshua’s response was his continued reliance on the authority of Yehovah his father, if you think about it according to to the Torah instruction on the Hebrew calandar, you can’t even predict the first day of the month of Tishri, the seventh month because it is determined by the New moon sighting by two witnesses from the land of Israel. All the disciples new Yeshua’s return would not be within their lifetime at the time Yeshua ascended into heaven and pored out the Holy Spirit ten days later on Shavuot. When Yeshua said some of you standing here today will see the son of man coming in his glory, just a few verses later Yeshua took Simon, James and John to the mountain he was transfigured and they saw the glory that he will be returning some 2000 years later, so by the spirit they saw what was happening in the future in real time, and that would be a testimony to the unbelieving Jews later on in their ministry. I will say that Tovia Singer seems to be having heart felt changes happening in his life I can see that. Maybe some day Tovia and I can sit and talk and examine all the evidence that I have come across in my walk from Babylonian Christianity and all it’s heresies, to returning to the Torah keeping Shabbat going by the Calandar that Yehovah gave the Israelites, not the mathematical calandar set up by Hillel 2, and May we look at the evidence of the scriptures and his covenant, and look at Hebrew texts that have been recently brought out, that are not translations from Greek nor Aramaic, and look at the original faith of the followers of Yeshua from the first century who were called Notzerim, followers of the Way, what I call Halaka. As a Notzerim I feel that we and our ancient faith has been grossly misrepresented by Western Greek European Christianity, and all the heretical baggage we have had to repent from and make that return back to the instructions of Yehovah, oh and yes we do speak and proclaim the name of Yehovah, The only one who was, and is and will always be, the one who does not change who has always kept his covenant with Israel even when we didn’t, and the Messiah Yeshua I serve came for the lost sheep of Israel, to return us back to his flock, through the blood that he shed which fulfilled many shadows from the TANAK especially when he cut a covenant with Abraham, where God alone walked through those bloody pieces where Abraham was not required to walk, what Yehovah was saying was that according to a covenant normally two who were in covenant walked through the blood shed as a witness against the one who breaks that covenant should be cut up into bloody pieces like the animal that was used, but Yehovah walked through those pieces himself promising he would keep said covenant, and when his descendants would break that covenant, YESHUA would take that death upon himself as one who broke that covenant, that goes for all of Israel even when they were kicked out of the land and exiled to the nations, we could be restored by Yehovah’s promise and trust in his provided substitute for us. My words to the Jewish people is this please acknowledge Yeshua as Yehovah’s lamb and say blessed is he who comes in the name of Yehovah. It’s time to put away the bad traditions of all our forefathers and return to the written Torah of Moshe, for Moses did indeed speak and write of him, we see a picture of the Angel of Yehovah in several visitations as a picture of Yeshua who emptied himself from the Glorious position he had as the head of the Elohim, or should I say that divine council that surrounded Yehovah and his throne.
You need to do a LOT more research on what God ACTUALLY said to us at Mt. Sinai...at which time, you will learn, as thousands of us already have, who have left various denominations of Christianity, that you are still trapped in Christianity, and that NOWHERE did God ever mention the "Yeshua/Jesus" character to us, NOWHERE did He tell us that we need to be "saved", and NOWHERE did He tell us that He requires HUMAN BLOOD (a purely pagan ritual that God ABHORS!!) as atonement for our sins! There is only one Church, and that is the Church the apostles founded, the Universal or Catholic Church. Jerusalem is the initial Patriarch for obvious reasons. Second, St Mark founded the Church of Alexandria, Egypt. Later, many gnostic writings came from there which these and bubonic plague destroyed alot of the Christian population.
St. Peter founded the Patriarch of Antioch, Turkey, its seat still present, but headquarters elsewhere. Finally the Patriarch of Constantinople and Patriarch Bartholomew is head of the Eastern Orthodox Church including Russia who since its beginning, never recognized Rome and does not accept the primary jurisdiction of Constantinople, Bartholomew wanting return to full unity.
What defines church is having a bishop, the Anglican Church recognized as a church, along with High Lutherans and a few Presbyterians.
All the rest of Protestants are members of ecclesia communities.
Now the Church of England through peceptions of its members, does not want to be church, and for some time Anglican priests want to definitively teach through the Church and can remain married in the Latin Church, Catholic.
The Eastern Orthodox Church and its members completely rejected the Refomers. The Orthodox don’t like change, since Constantine’s temporal protection, are tight among themselves since their history has worst numbers of persecution. The Western Church is administrative because of St Peter, is very forward and open minded, but vulnerable to heresy and materialism, and thus has to define everything.

Hashem is a merciful and just God, do what is right and improve yourself and He will forgive and forget your transgressions. I was a cradle Catholic. At least two Catholic s*ints are among my ancestors, and I pray that G’d has forgiven what one of them (King Louis IX) did to faithful and observant Jews.
Unlike most of my generation, I received superb doctrinal education as well as an excellent secular education. I taught nt for twenty-five years.
After I studied the Torah, I came to the following conclusion: Jesus was an anti-messiah, not the messiah/christ, if he existed at all.
Let’s say that Jesus did exist and that the unknown authors of the nt accurately recorded his utterances forty-ish years after he allegedly died. In that case, Jesus taught contrary to the Torah on dozens of occasions.
A few of my questions after reading the Torah were as follows:
If the cc is guided by the “spirit,” why do so many of its doctrines conflict with the Torah?
If Jesus chooses the Popes, why have so many of them been s*d*mites?
If Jesus chooses the Popes and the Popes run the church according to the “spirit,” then why have all the Popes since I have been alive cooperated with corrupt cardinals, bishops, priests, deacons, brothers, nuns, and sisters?
The Pope functions in the way that an absolute monarch functions, so he should be able to “clean house.” Why have none of them done so?
G’d says not to eat human flesh or to drink blood of any kind. Why did Jesus command his followers to eat his body and drink his blood?
G’d allows remarriage after divorce, although He does hate divorce. Why did Jesus say that remarriage after divorce was adultery?
Since Jesus taught that remarriage after divorce was adultery, why would the “spirit” allow all of the flimsy declarations of nullity?
I don’t expect an answer to these questions from a layperson as neither my bishop nor the archbishop’s assistant could answer them. 🕊❤️

Contradicting Torah, passages can be read in different light…
St Catherine of Siena spoke of Scripture…the Holy Spirit takes us down into the marrow to Life, Light.
Our duty is to enter into the life of the Holy Trinity and relieve the suffering of our neighbor.
We reflect on the marrow of Deep Scripture where the Holy Spirit is, consume His Word, that in turn consumes the darkness and turns it into Light in the world.
Likewise we will not know the value of redemptive suffering until the next life.
You say that it's better for people to try to keep a list of rules than for people to become born again and get a new spirit and be changed into a new person from the inside out.
