Made it to mighty ruler 2 days ago. Here are the patterns I noticed from red players: 1. If you are far away from each other in neutral, they WILL do a running move to get in and get plus frames. Side step/walk when far away or when you see them start to dash forward and whiff punish. 2. Red ranks abuse power crush and heat burst like crazy. You need to be hitting them with your fastest lows and get them to start crouching asap. Then you start hitting them with your big mids. Also start grabbing them early because grabs will beat armor. 3. Abuse grabs in general. Hardly anyone can break them at this level. Just don’t use 1 break grabs because everyone is mashing 1. Start practicing grab breaks on your own time 4. Try to always be plus and take your frame advantage. It’s crazy how much people still mash at these ranks. You’ll be frame trapping people over and over and they will still mash. 5. Start offensively side-stepping if you know you are -4 or better 6. If they heat burst to get you off them, expect them to heat smash right away. Let them waste their heat. 7. Everyone at these ranks has a trick they abuse. Figure out their trick and they will crumble most likely.
@@momarenah969 if you’re -4 or better, you have enough room to side step and dodge some people’s moves. Usually just their jabs. If they do something with a bit of tracking you could get hit but that is why you sidestep into block. If you’re sure your opponent will mash something, you can sidestep, let them whiff, and then punish
Don’t worry about your rank so much, just work on getting yourself better. From the last chart we had your rank means you’re better than approximately 65% of the players that makes you good at the game, so at this point I recommend you just focus on small improvements on yourself and eventually you will continue to move up. Which leads me to my final thing have fun in the red ranks because once you get to blue rank people start to plug when they lose and it becomes less fun.

I have some tips as someone who's been playing since Tekken Tag 1 haha: 1- Defense is super important. Even when you don't know the matchup (bc seriously there's just too much characters and moves/ strings in the game), then just block. It's not always your turn to press and that's why you end up getting obliterated so quickly. A lot of opponents like to frame trap you (even when they don't even know they're doing it, they just see what moves work and clip their opponents in a row, thus they abuse it) 2- look at your opponent's character more than your own. This way you'll learn their flow charts and habits a bit easier and the animation of the moves they're using often. It's very important to try to try to memorise the animation of the moves. This way you'll know better how to defend against it later on in ranked. 3 - frames are so important. For too long in T7 I was too lazy to learn then. I finally did like literally a month before T8 came out and even though some frame data changed, I was still given a headstart. With frames come punishes, so know your main character's 10, 12, 13, 14, and 15 frame punishes. I'd usually just use the 10 and 15 (especially when I'm unsure about the opponent's moves on block). The 10 frame punish is safe and the 15 frame one you'd only obviously use when they whiff a launch or you block their attempt at a launch). 4 - Remember not to just be linear in the match. A lot of moves ppl throw at you can be sidestepped. Granted it's hard to know when you and which moves, but you'll learn the more you play and there are popular ones like the running 3/4 moves of most characters which is like a flying kick (or punch) than can be stepped. Many opponent (especially in low level) like to do this. 5 - Just have fun! Worrying about your rank can make you nervous wnd anxious during the match. It can also make you mad if you lose. Its important to have a clear mindset as mood can really affect the way you play (been through that, it was not fun haha). I notice that when I'm patient and trying to read the opponent instead of just throw flow charts at them, i play way better xx
I sympathize with you, beacuse i felt like i was this 2 weeks ago while being stuck on Tenryu, then i started to noticed during my repley, what i needed to work on and try to make some my own drill in my freetime, eventully last friday i got to Mighty ruler after 4 hours intense focusing, while drinking my tea. i just wannna tell you don't worry. as i really love your videos you are better than most garyu and shinryu players, since most of people in red ranks tend bad habit on using rage art. but yeah really looking forward to your next video ^_^
Good games and a good voice over! If the Red Rank Purgatory sometimes feels too bloody suffocating, remember the words of Miyamoto Musashi: "Anyone can give up. It's the easiest thing in the world to do, but to hold together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart that is true strength."
I also suffer from Acute Analysis Paralysis. It's inevitable, the mid-match overthinking. Meanwhile your opponent presses ALL the buttons. Things will improve as you become more comfortable with your character and the game mechanics, then you'll be on your way to a sweet, sweet flow state. Keep at it, good luck out there!
keep your head up bro. I'm also a beginner and am a Jin player stuck in red ranks.... almost same journey as you fr lol. The problems you talk about in this vid are so relatable
80 matches already! I can hardly believe it. You're right about keeping things simple: I've met Jin players in purple ranks who use very simple gameplans, but it takes a solid defence to counter it. I think your problem is you are thinking too hard for these levels of players. Most of them just mash on their favorite sequences and don’t care what you’re doing . They don’t respect frame traps and most likely have horrible defense.
I’ve had matches like that where I feel like I’m thinking way too hard like they are about to do some advanced tech, meanwhile they are just doing entire strings , starting from mid screen even. Beat these players by punishing them or having a tight frame trap to jail them
also gotta work on them electrics bro its a must for jin use the fking electric spam that shit into lazer cannon stagger the first hit into a throw just play mind games make the other player lose his damn mind from lazer canon stagger throw or b,f 2,3 into zen throw or 1+2 just gotta have more expeirence imo
Go into zen stance after u hit electric to guarantee electric follow up. Noticed u dropped it cause u got nervous, this is an easy way to ensure u always get the combo regardless of ur nerves. Keep up the grind tho
Winning, losing, it's all part of the process. Just don't fall into the trap of feeling like you deserved to win, or that the other opponent only got lucky. Don't be a brat. Getting better at the game is one thing, but the thing that carries you over is a better attitude.

also gotta work on them electrics bro its a must for jin use the fking electric spam that shit into lazer cannon stagger the first hit into a throw just play mind games make the other player lose his damn mind from lazer canon stagger throw or b,f 2,3 into zen throw or 1+2 just gotta have more expeirence imo
Never give up I’m almost out of red
I’m the same bro I got Azu and Eddie in Red. Azu in Garyu and Eddie to Tenryu and I’m stuck hard!!
We can get through this brother
Go into zen stance after u hit electric to guarantee electric follow up. Noticed u dropped it cause u got nervous, this is an easy way to ensure u always get the combo regardless of ur nerves. Keep up the grind tho
Thanks for the tip
2,1,4 mix up should be bread and butter for Jin.
exactly right, I'll use that in the next video
Winning, losing, it's all part of the process. Just don't fall into the trap of feeling like you deserved to win, or that the other opponent only got lucky.
Don't be a brat.
Getting better at the game is one thing, but the thing that carries you over is a better attitude.
great advice, I feel like I've learned so much through this journey. can't wait to test my skills in a bracket
I need to hop on and play with you. I feel like I learn so much from you so quickly. (Can we please play together?(
I'll be streaming player matches soon!
5:44 this divekick DVJ does is launch punishable and if u can’t launch it u can just do any move that is like 16-15 frames it is not plus on block like jins is DO NOT let devil Jin mains get away with this
The issue is ego. Just keep improving and enjoying the ride. This fight game will be out for a decade
I have RTX 3050 laptop i just need good graphics settings to play the game rest leave the combo learning to me lol ? Any help would be appreciated.
Hey there man love your vids you actually inspired me to start my own channel and play Tekken. If you don’t mind me asking do you get copyrighted for using music in your vids? And where do you get your music from? Great video love your content 👍🏽
Good luck w your channel! I'm not monetized yet so idk if im getting copyrighted but I only use Video game ost and thats usually okay
id say start working on them combos bro try to get a really good wall carry with jin imo hes always been the best at wall carrying and thats a must here some examples
Electric, electric , b3zen1 netural 1 heat into 1 into b31
also start utilizing ur cheese ur cha has alot of cheese like df 4 the big sweep also b3 into zen into 1+2 or 4,1 fzen into 1+2 also utilize ur lazer cannon literally the best stagger string in the game
In tenryu, after 150 matches from garyu with king 😂

I could've left Reds ages ago but what's the point. All it does is make it take longer to get matches.
Ranked is so annoying to que now 😭
Whats the song at the end?
Innocent world from budokai tenkaichi 3
the worst thing i am the worst possible sittuation. I got fujin on bear cause i spam strong atacks and now if change character what never played before still this shit send me people from purple ranks with similiar tekken prowness points (about 150k). This shit is broken and work even on normal games, not ranked.
So you want easy wins? Play arcade.
@@wptd2689 its just bad designed system
Damn even quick match games? That’s sucks I loved the randomness
@@hands-ongaming7180 yes maybe i got bad luck but 80% players are mighty rulers or fujins
@@MikeleKonstantyFiedorowiczIV I have multiple red ranks and a mighty ruler kazuya with 155k, stop being lazy and learn how to play properly it's not that hard.

That's just the inconsistency in your game atm, iron it out and you'll win more.
Join the iron fist underground.
12:40 is hilarious again

I'm starting to feel like Americans arent that good at tekken compared to the world
You are missing some punish opportunities
