    I've been using the one that attaches to a reflector for a month now and they are great. I also grabbed the egg crate for both of mine. I've run mine for 5 hours at a time with a 100w light at full power and never had an issue yet

      that's awesome! it sounds like you've gotten a lot of use out of it so far. I need to grab the egg crate for mine! honestly it creates such a nice soft overhead light, I've been loving the tube modifier.

    This is the type of filmmaking gear that I love to see, innovative. This actually seems pretty useful especially since the pump comes attached to the light. I was honestly expecting for that to be separate.

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  2 місяці тому +1

      Ya, it's a really cool innovation! Having the pump built in internally def makes it way quicker to get them setup and not worry about having a pump with you.

    Yeah im definitely buying about 4 of these no second guessing it

      love that! they're totally worth it. I've been traveling with them and just through them into my carry on because they compact down so small.

    Wow cool stuff. Superb explanations, and it's nice how you quickly show each feature then the next, moving things along at a perfect pace. About the Mito Torch 1x4, to your question at 00:38 to on why it's called "1 by 4" when it's not 4 feet long, my guess is that 1 x 4 is the iight's ratio of width to length. (similar to how video formats are expressed as ratios, for example 16:9 which is pronounced 16 by 9)

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  2 місяці тому +1

      Yeah, I could see that being the reason behind the naming--it could be the ratio!

      Thanks Paul! Definitely very unique lights. The light tube modifier specifically stood out to me cause you can throw it on any light you're already using. It was good meeting you at NAB in Vegas BTW!

      @@chadwin ya bud!!! I love NAB it was my 2nd year. I love meeting all my youtube friends. There were a lot of inflatable lights near iFootage booth, that new falcon eyes brand or whatever. Maybe we will connect next year again!

      @@PaulFeinberg yeah for sure, NAB is one of my favorite events every year! I’ll be there, so I bet we’ll bump into each other again.
      I didn’t see those other Inflatable lights, but that’s cool to hear. I think it’s an emerging market for sure.

    On the 2x4, when you were at 2700 K it looks green. Did you check the color accuracy on these lights?

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  2 місяці тому

      It's very possible that it looks greenish due to my camera settings. I filmed this at 5600k, but the light was down at 2700k, if I white balanced to 2700k in camera it would probably look cleaner.
      But i didn't test the color accuracy with any meters. Their website states that CRI is 95+ so it should be decent! You can also adjust the green/magenta shift of the light--so if the reading shows that, you can make needed adjustments.

    • @Cinegavo
      @Cinegavo 2 місяці тому +2

      it's gotta be the low end dimming, the color completely falls apart at some point when it was dimmed in the video.

    • @RobertJohnPhotography
      @RobertJohnPhotography 2 місяці тому

      @@Cinegavo Yep. I agree. A lot of cheaper LED diodes do that. seen it on cheap lights off of Amazon. I even have one.🤣

    • @Wildridefilms
      @Wildridefilms 23 дні тому

      @@chadwin green-magenta is not affected by colour temperature. You'd have to adjust the tint. But a lot of video lights get less colour accurate at darker settings as they can't use PWM dimming (little to no colour variance with brightness) as that can cause banding.

  • @lovemauihawaii
    @lovemauihawaii 2 місяці тому +1

    Hmm, on Light Bank's website, the Mito Torch 1x4 product listing says the brightness is 610 lux, but does not specify whether that's measured at 2 meters, 1 meter or 0.5 meter distance. As you know in recent years there's been a sneaky trend (mostly with LED panel lights) to specify Lux at 0.5 meters-putting the measurement device twice as close to the light. The more responsible vendors will show the lux rating at 0.5 meters (sneaky) but also at 1meter and 2 meter distances. (full disclosure)

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  2 місяці тому +1

      Oh, that's interesting. It's always hard to know what kind of tests and standards are being tested cause every company does it so differently. Anecdotally, they definitely all get pretty bright though!

    • @lovemauihawaii
      @lovemauihawaii Місяць тому

      @LightBankLighting that's awesome!! (1) Would be optimal to show lux at 0.5 meters and also at 1 meters, because other lights show those specs; therefore making it easy for shoppers to compare different lights. (2) Solo and pro videographers need to see CRI rating too. Thank you for chiming in and updating us!

    Thanks for the review. Any concerns about heat from a COB LED and the Light Bank modifier? I would probably use this with a 60-120 COB, and wonder if the lack of ventilation could be a hazard.
    Does the Light Bank have an internal inflator, or do you need to use their external inflator?

    • @di2ifter
      @di2ifter 14 днів тому

      I dunno if you ever got your answer to this, but I actually e-mailed the company and asked about recommended tolerances: "The recommended maximum wattage is 300W. If you use your Aputure 600X at 50/60% power draw it would work, but we don't recommend running it any higher." So your 60-120 COB light should be fine. Also, it would need an external inflator based on other reviews I've seen. They actually sell one on their website for about $25.00.

  • @Krakenborn
    @Krakenborn 2 місяці тому +1

    The Torch one is very cool, but it's power is a bit too weak. At least if they double the lux output with that price, then we're talking.

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  Місяць тому

      yeah, the torch one is definitely not the brightest of the bunch, but it also the most affordable light. if you have a good COB light already, you can just get the tube modifier for it!

    Hi, due the Air tube modifier have an optional LCD?

    • @chadwin

      it doesn't have an LCD. it's just a simple tube that you inflate and mount on your existing COB light.

    The film industry has been using inflatable lights going on 15 years now. Not sure how this is called new? Maybe just the smaller form factor but nothing revolutionary about it.

      yeah, that's what I mentioned and showed BTS pics of right at the start of the video. they've been around for a while now. But, there haven't been inflatable lights this size available to normal consumers and videographers.
