I'm Eritrean. I'm about to be a licensed American high school social studies teacher. What you're doing is a lot of the reason why I want to be a teacher. If I may give you some advice when implementing English on our people. Be sure to explain to them the importance of phonetics. I have found much more success when I write English words in a phonetically tangible style then as a word is naturally spelled. For example, when I try and get the Americans to pronounce Eritrea as it should be pronounced. I write the word Eritrea as ""Air'et'tree'ya." This prevents them from saying "Eeeee-reee'treee'yah." I hate that nonsense, don't you? 🤣 That's what phonetics are. It's a fast and much easier way to speak in the manner and correct sound of whatever language you are learning. My name is Robel. The word Bell in English has two L'S. in it, my name has one L. To the native English speaker, because the reader knows Bell has two L, when they see Robel, which has one L. They pronounce Robel as, "Ro-bull." To make sure my name is pronounced as it sounds. I put Robell rather than Robel. That's my preference and my choice. Best of luck to all my country-men and country-women🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷 P.S When written phonetically correct, the word phonetics would & should be pronounced, "FAA-NET-TICKS" What I just spelled is how the word phonetics should sound but the actual word is not spelled the way it sounds. Unfortunately, English is a headache like that. Wait until you guys learn French, now that language will give a you a real migraine. No oui oui (wee wee) 🚫🇫🇷🚫
