Solid video right here. Thx for the upload.
Fantastic and informative video! Yes you are correct about the thumbnails, that's what grabbed me at some stores, thanks for the video, I subscribed, Big G
As usual ..great information
Thank you for uploading this video
I was thinking this exact thing, the other day. The stores that have all the same layout/thumbnails look so much better and it is so much easier to navigate. Also, as a crafter, I would not buy something that say....offered 100 designs for $6.95, for instance, because I would then have to sift through 100 designs, to get the exact thing I wanted. I am not saying it isn't good for some larger companies, or whatever, but, for me, I would never buy that. Another thing, and I know this is VERY common amongst crafters....they're indecisive, so if you give them 100 designs, they will get frustrated and won't get anything done. Again, that might be okay for some people, but it really isn't a good thing for indecisive people. I can understand something like hand drawn hearts or arrows, but for most things, I wouldn't buy something that had an overwhelming amount of files, no matter how cheap it is, and, we all know, crafters love "cheap." 😂
This is bang on, I love this. .Freedom for some consumers sometimes is less choice, not more. Agreed!
Thanks for the information 😁
I must open an Esty store for digital artwork before the end of next week as I've been putting it off. Thank you for the info!
so have you done it? this is a reminder to do it if you havent!
Any luck with the etsy shop? Interested if your happy.
i did notice this, a shop looking clean when using the same thumbnail template, so i went and changed all my listings to the same, but i need different if the image is vertical or its a digital not print on demand, the 'heading' on the thumbnail is a really good idea to bring it all together, ill try it out today
Useful video
That was probably the most helpful thing I've heard in a long while. Good job! 👍
(When do I pay you? 😆)
all I can say 'YOU ARE GREAT'
I opened my shop but I was able to only load 1 file. I find it hard to understand the digital world. I got 18 visits which is pretty awesome. 🤣🤣🤣🤗
شكرا محتوى مفيد 👍
Thank uuu
This is a great video. Thank you, Zen. Can u do a video on how to design digital files for Etsy?
Yes you bet, I have a master class on digital designs here: ua-cam.com/video/LjIDlqWKowY/v-deo.html
@crafty dtax your videos are incredibly helpful and I've taken your advice and expertise to heart. One question I have is how do you find the balance? Yes it is very important to zone in on a niche so your page is uniform and you're not confusing your customers. I see your point and definately agree. But then how do your test the market to find that niche? Do I sell color book pages or nursery wallart? If I do the seo research and find a few unsaturated niche possibilities if I sell both or many my store is a mess, if I choose one randomly I will never knew if the other would of been successful.
That's a great question and I agree, you don't want to destroy your brand by trying a bunch of new stuff. What I typically do is try something new (like 1-2 designs) and see if anyone cares. Or if I am really gung ho and confident, I'll just pretend that it is a best seller and do a bunch of products in that niche. I have found that personally, most customers want a specific design (and they don't care as much about the store or WHO is selling it). I have had mish-mash stores and they do well (I did not see a huge penalty for having different stuff in the store).
Best explanation I’ve heard about why you need a niche! If you have a few product lines would you open separate stores? Eg one for cards and one for party supplies?
That is a great question and I have struggled with this myself. I would say YES to two different stores if you can handle the extra work (two accounts, double the email checking, etc.). I personally never liked two stores but it was because I didn't like the extra work (it does make sense from a branding perspective). Thank you for the feedback!
Thanks for the video. Would love to know what your store(s) is. How do you handle the problem of you have a thousand ideas that are marketable, but you don't want to create 50 separate Etsy stores? Or do you just create 50 Etsy stores and deal with it? This could also be a big enough deal to have a separate video dedicated to it.
Yes that's a great question. Usually I just do general stores (specifically so that I can try out new products without being stuck in a niche) and I've found that most people don't really care about designs that are in the store - they only care about the design they are buying. So people are searching by design. So if you have 55 comic book designs and 30 ancient Egypt designs (they are not related at all), it won't necessarily hurt your shop. Just put them into collections and you should be OK!
Does this same principle apply to apparel sellers?
KayceeJaycee sure has a nice store, but I'm sure lots of that is copyright infringement. ..Mario . Disney .. : ( But the consistent format, makes a good point, nonetheless thanks for the video
A great concept. BUT need help. I need to create a banner to go under my listings as shown above. I know I can use Canva, but can I add to what I already have listed or must I start from the beginning? Is it simply a matter then of creating a mini banner first? ty
Now the hard part…choosing that niche!
What's the best category to list your digital files on Esty if their primarily to be used for printing on objects ?
I typically would go All categories > Art & Collectibles > Drawing & Illustration > Digital
hi,ne ganz andere frage!! von wem ist denn die musik in dem video??
Es gibt keine Musik in diesem Video?
Your vidéo is amazing! Just listening to you is cathartic. I'm a brand new Etsy seller just creating my products, and you helped me feel like I can succeed!
How is your business doing after 6 months if you don't mind me asking?
i can ''save image'' every image on Etsy! why to pay to download?!??! i mean is there a way to secure my art from ''save image''? Seems that Etsy does not care about this
I would agree that this can be an issue if you are not careful - I have a video on how to lower the chances of people stealing your designs: ua-cam.com/video/jUrwk1cvYgA/v-deo.html
How is it legal to sell Elvis and Michael Jackson images? what are the rules/laws regarding this. Thanks for your videos.
It's not legal. But it is up to the estate of those people to file a complaint (and some don't bother). It's annoying for many artists who are competing against obvious trademark-infringing designs. So I recommend avoiding celebrity images and anything that is trademarked!
