I disagree when you say Murphy did nowt. His cross for Gordon's goal was excellent and he puts loads of work in all over the pitch. He was putting tackles in on our own goal line. I think he gets a bad rap when he doesn't really deserve it. He's one of our most emphatic players.

Eddie's team Selections have been questionable at best for most of this season, Dan Burn at left back killed us in so many games that's just one example, frustrating I like Eddie but not sure he can take us to the next step but like the owners I'll give him another season

Howe isn’t good enough to take us forward. The season has been absolutely littered with really poor team selections, baffling subs, shocking in game management including injured players being flogged. Honestly, he’s a distance off the best. And if we’re not wanting the best to be able to compete, wtf are we doing here? Not fair on the top players we have. Does it have to take Bruno leaving, others to be unhappy to realise it or can we do what’s fucking obvious, be proactive and make a change to move forward

we need to spend more money to have a massive clear out but we're not allowed to spend more money.. so.. thats a bit of an over reaction given the circumstances.. Pep and Klopp both have wayyyy more depth and money to enable being ruthless along with the recent history of competitiveness from their clubs allowing them to entice better players and spend more money... Howe is doing literally the best with what he's got I'd say.
that being said.... today was trash and I am gutted...

I left you a long comment a few weeks ago about this.
Long story short, we are carrying way too much dead wood.
Longstaff for being black and white through and through, is not to the standard needed for teams looking to maintain consecutive european qualification - He's terrible under pressure, bad at reading the game and other players and doesn't have the footballing IQ or ability to maintain a regular place in the squad, let alone the starting 11. Should be sold.
Dubravka, Almiron, Murphy, Krafth & Lascelles are bottom half prem / top half championship players, if they're going to be in the squad, it should be on the periphery, not in the trenches. Outskirts of squad or sold.
Anderson, again black and white through and through, but simply not good enough to be starting. He's young, he can grow, yes, but it shouldn't be at the expense of the teams progress into the heights of the table. Keen, dedicated, but not creative or intelligent when it comes to general play. The same can be said of Miley - Who must be cut slack for his age and the fact he has years of development ahead of him. Squad, but not starting.
Trippier & Wilson are reaching the end of their footballing utility - He may have just come back from injury and not be at 100% - But it's becoming apparent that age is setting in and Wilson likewise, now seems to be injured or recovering for the majority of the season - We won't get much in terms of recouping money for either due to age, but perhaps they should take Ritchies spot as squad cheerleaders with 'guest' appearances when we're up against it - If we received a reasonable offer for either however, it would be foolish not to consider it.
Karius, Ritchie, Dummett, Hendrick & Watts - Will all be departing this summer at the end of their contracts (thank fuck) - They should most definitely be joined by Fraser, Lewis, Hayden & Gillespie - These are all completely obsolete players, and even as desperation squad players, there are upgrades to be had left, right and centre all over the shop in the form of youth prospects, championship prospects and free transfers.
Matt Targett is the invisible man - He now appears to have been injured for a year - What in the actual fuck is going on with him? Is he moonlighting as a crash test dummy? Who the fuck knows. What I do know is that we do not need any more players that have a penchant for injury, and he seems to be right up there - On top of that EH seemed to have went off using him when he was available - Perhaps it's time for Matty to move on once he's healed of his ebola or whatever the fuck has kept him from being available for an entire season. Probably smart to sell.
That would leave a core contingent of Pope, Botman, Schar, Hall, Burn, Livramento, Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton, Willock, Gordon, Barnes & Isak - Essentially 13 players from the entire squad, that are worthy of being on that field at the present moment - We might be able to add Yankuba Minteh's name to that list to make 14.
That gives us 1 keeper, 3 central defenders, 2 full backs, 4 central midfielders, 3 wingers and a striker - And right now the mumbling in the world of transfer speculation is that our best midfielder and our only striker are being admired by the big boys - Because that's how PSR works - Despite having more money than god - Our best players have to be sold to our rivals who already have better squads than us and who already finish higher than us nearly every season and who until the recent ffp regulations have been spending whatever the fuck their budgets will allow...because that's fair. And of course it's also fair that Chelsea get to spend a billion and have no charges, and Man City get to go on winning all the time without answer for the 115 charges because the PL know that making the big boys angry will result in a massive repercussions for the stability of the league....so best of just making sure little newcastle can't spend any of their dosh and make sure they sell their players to liverpool and arsenal who have nowhere near the same resources as the geordies but are establishment teams that we like...
    Fuck. this. shit.
Clear cut this fucking squad like a soy bean plantation company in the Amazon.
Spend whatever the fuck is needed on whoever the fuck we need and deal with the fucking idiots leading this fucking idiot circus premier league, later on.
If we have to get in contact with our middle eastern friends to let it be known that some of our heroic bench warmers are ready to venture out to pastures new in Saudi for very reasonable prices starting at 15 million - Then have Amanda or Mehrdad let Big Yas know the score - I'm sure he'll be able to find them a job at Al-Hasbeen or whatvr the fuck.
It's time to put our big boy pants on and stop acting like fucking Oliver in Fagin's den of thieves and crooks - We don't need to ask for more, we already have it - Now it's time to fucking spend it pick up a few of the best 'creative' accountants and barristers with a keen interest in sports law on our books asap.
Had enough of being the Sean Longstaff of the PL - The nice team, with a happy smile that sometimes gets a pat on the head for it's effort - Fuck that shit - Watching that fucking mancunian dross eek out a win over us because of not having anyone better than Longstaff, Murphy, Krafth, Almiron, Dubravka etc etc, make my piss fucking boil so badly my nob whistles like a fucking kettle.
This summer has to finally be the time to sweep away the remainder of Ashley's bargain bin buys and go shopping at Harrods with a blasé attitude of what the bank managers might say - It's our fucking money and we will spend it however the fuck we like - Or at least until the point at which we're never forced to consider having to play Sean Longstaff as a starter in a key game against our direct rivals for european qualification.
    Peace the fuck out.

Why did Howe not START with NUFC's best team? Where was Joelinton? Where was Harvey Barnes? What the hell was Trippier doing on the field? Instead of going for the jugular against a poor Man U tea, Howe reverted to type: Howe had the team defending deep, which is his default away setting. The away results speak for themselves, and Howe still persists with the same tactics. He'll do the same against Brentford. Is Howe the man to take NUFC forward when he shows such tactical deficiency?
