That's so awesome to hear from someone who doesn't have Knott's at their home park. I sometimes wonder if I'm biased. Silver Dollar City and Dollywood are also very beautiful and well balanced.
I've got such a soft spot for Jaguar. It's just a nice cruise around the park and I'm very excited that Monte is set to reopen in the coming year. I hope that they go crazy with the station theming and make it a really special experience. The theme lends itself to some amazing possibilities. Hopefully the theming extends beyond the station too. And hear me out on this... in the future when Six Flags has decided that Xcelerator is too much hassle to maintain, they remove it and Coast Rider and replace them with something like a compact Mack Stryker coaster, which will become the best coaster in the park.
Glad I'm not the only one who enjoys the Jaguar tour. A Mack Stryker would be interesting... Maybe pictures don't do justice... But it doesn't look THAT incredible. Also looks very close to what HangTime already does.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork Voltron has rocketed up people's list of best in the world, but the thing that a Stryker could do is replace the punchy launch that would be absent if they remove Xcelerator. It's certainly possible they'd do a more airtime focused coaster rather than inversion focused. For me, a best case scenario if they do this is that it also interacts with Supreme Scream somehow. They could make a fairly substantial layout if they extended in both directions from Xcelerator. We'll see. But for now we'll happily keep Xcelerator. :)
Never knew Sierra Sidewinder was the 1st spinning coaster, makes me appreciate it even more 👍 Would love to hear some napkin engineering for knott's future from you at some point. Just for fun Giga, or Hyper like Mako or Shambala. Would you get rid of the corporate events center & church to expand parking, build a 5 to 7 floor structure in the Marketplace parking, and have some of the layout traverse around the structure. I'd pay good money for a video like that.
Great video Chris! I have the same opinion of Silver Bullet. They ruined the most scenic & Tranquil part of the park, being Reflection Lake, The Church of Reflections, & Indian Trails. At least they moved the church across the street by Independence Hall. I would live to see your ranking of all Knott's coasters, past & present. Hello From Phoenix Arizona 🌡 🔥
Thank you! Yeah, back before Silver Bullet, I loved relaxing where the drawbridge is. It was so peaceful watching the bridge go up, boat go by, and then back down for the train. And, you know, I almost did a ranking of all the coasters past and present. But wanted to wait until Montezooma's Revenge reopens so I can rank it against itself (it's feeling like it'll be a new credit). I've also been on all the coasters the park has ever had. Well, rode Corkscrew at Silverwood. I'll probably do that video in a couple years.
@AmericasCoasterNetwork - The Corkscrew was my first roller coaster I ever rode on 1981 when I was 5. I have ridden the Corkscrew at both parks. The last time I went to Silverwood, I rode the Corkscrew 75 times in one day. The Corkscrew is my favorite coaster of all-time, with Viper at Magic Mountain being my #2.
Interesting list and to each their own but for me I would go… 9. Snoopy 8. Coast Rider (I would actually rank it higher than pony express if it wasn’t for those damn shin guards, it actually does have a decent drop for a wild mouse imo) 7. Pony express 6. Jaguar (great buffer coaster) 5. Silver Bulleit 4. Sierra Sidewinder (so underrated imo) 3. Xcelerator 2. Hangtime (sorry that lift hill, the drop, and just how it doesn’t let up at all throughout the ride and as mentioned the beauty of the ride when it’s lit up at night puts this at the top of my list. Xcelerator is awesome no doubt but I feel like I get more out of Hangtime. And of course 1. Ghostrider
Your list isn't too different. I can absolutely understand the argument for HangTime at #2. It's really good. But the launch on Xcelerator alone bests the entirety of HangTime. I'm surprised to see Silver Bullet so low on the list.
@ yeah I hear you that launch is something else. But yeah the lift hill on Hangtime alone does it for me, honestly if it wasn’t for the nostalgia and very well done refurbishment on Ghostrider, Hangtime would be my #1. But yeah Silver Bullet is an awesome ride no doubt about it, but like you said you never know what kind of ride you’re going to get on Sierra Sidewinder. I use to always walk past/skip Sierra and I remember the first time I rode it I didn’t think there would be much to it since it’s in Camp Snoopy. And man was I pleasantly surprised. A very underrated coaster and must do every time I visit the park nowadays.
0:07 say that again and a little louder for everyone in the back. “Something for everyone” is my main reason why in my opinion Knott’s Berry Farm is the best amusement park in Southern California. Most would probably say Disney but the problem with Disney is if someone in your group loves big thrilling roller coasters, they’re going to be pretty disappointed with Disney’s “big” rides. And on the other end for those who pick Six Flags Magic Mountain, if someone in your group doesn’t like big roller coasters then Six Flags is the worst place to take them. But like the commentator said Knott’s has a little something for everyone and, compared to Disney, the experience is a whole lot cheaper
Well said! Knott's also has the shows and amazing food. Their annual events are extremely fun and beautiful. Merry Farm is incredibly charming. Feels real compared to Disney.
My fave is Silver Bullet. Xcelerator is awesome, but just too short, and Ghost Rider is kinda rough and always closed down when I go. Jaguar is definitely bottom of the list because the cars are so painfully small and the queue is way too dark and too warm on a hot day.
Man, I miss working there, but anyways, i remember coast rider in the beginning has 4 trains in the track but man hopefully later on it get replaced with something more fun
Ive been in every roller coaster except HangTime And Xcelerator and then i over came my fear of roller coasters and ready for the Fast and furious roller coaster
I've never been on that Snoopy Coaster, but I'd take Coast Rider over Silver Bullet any day. Silver Bullet just has nothing going for it. Zero fun, not even interesting views. At least Coast Rider has laterals. #1 is not even worth discussing. It's Ghost Rider, period. Xcelerator is also my #2, but it's not in the same league as Ghost Rider.
"Number 8 goes to Ghost-"
No you did not-
"I mean, Coast Rider"
*Oh thank god lol*
Glad I got ya! 😂
I went to Knotts for the first time last December and fell in love. This is up there with Dollywood and Silver Doller City for me

Well, the first to have a train of spinning cars. The others have individual cars.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork gotta love that it's a MACK as well ❤️

GHOST RIDER IS NOT ROUGH
@ Not any rougher than most wooden coasters, no. I’m just not a fan of them in general. 🤷♂️

Yeah. Something more exciting like a bench.
Hangtime
Xcelerator
Ghost Rider

Jaguar
