I am rereading Victor Frankl's "Man's Search for Meaning," and this reminds me of how the "Capos," the inmate guards, were actually worse than the actual Nazi guards. He explained that these prisoners, once earning their subjectively higher roles, were even more brutal than the Nazi SS guards. Frankl elaborated on how evil can be in the heart of any person, no matter if they are the oppressed or the oppressors. It's sad that Frankl's description of humanity's brutality and carnage is as relevant today as it was then.
