Thank you so much Action Kid for giving me a look at my old neighborhood in Astoria around the Steinway and Broadway areas. I moved from there three years ago and all I want to do is move back there. I miss it so much.
1:08 Aww, I was hoping the lights would have been fixed by now.🎄14:38 The mini Christmas village is so cute!! 😍 Thank you for sharing the history and this walk in your neighborhood, AK! 🤗
On your neighborhood the christmas decorations and window displays are good enough , aka adeguate ! So they surely don’t have to ashame of their part of the decorations , they do just fine 👍 I liked the inflatable santa and those candy canes at the door handles were quite innovative and festive way to celebrate christmas 🎁🎄🗽!!! Thank you for sharing !!!
Thanks for the tour down (not quite) memory lane. I grew up in Astoria; then in 1971 I got married and moved to the Bronx. It's funny, at one point in the video you say "As you can see there's a lot of changes in the neighborhood." Well looking at it from 50 years ago, I really, really, really agree with that statement. Aside from the obvious which is most of those businesses were not there back then, the biggest change was the number of various restaurants/food establishments. I would say there are roughly ten times the number of restaurants now than there were then. And back then, I don't even remember there being any nail salons. I chuckled when you commented that Broadway Vacuum had been there for a long time because, yes, I remember it from back then.
Your neighborhood looks cozy and peaceful, at least at that hour. In a way it looks like mine. Nothing from the fanciness of Manhattan for example, but it has lots of bussinesses for all family. Loved these decorations at 34:00 Like always good vibes narration. Stay safe from Covid and anything else!
Astoria , such an interesting part of your neighborhood AK very nice . Lots of places to shop, eat and enjoy wonderful. Love all the shop window Christmas displays , some are quite quirky like the candy cane door handles 💛👍. Very enjoyable walk of your hood , let wish for a better world Covid Free next year 🤞✌. Take care .
This is so refreshing, thank you so much. Haven’t been in Astoria in a while and I miss it. Good to see the new restaurants opening up. Hoping they’ll stay open despite this pandemic🤞🤞. Have a Merry Christmas Actionkid🎄 Thanks again!
What a nice little walk through Astoria. Some of the business windows looked really cute! I can't believe those lines for the COVID testing. Wow! It is pretty sad actually. Definitely a different world that we live in today. Thanks again for all the beautiful Christmas lights and decoration videos. Stay warm and have a Merry Christmas!
27:26 "really shocking what kind of world we live in now..." Believe it or not, NYC isn't the world or even at the center. There's a whole world out there, and many parts of world aren't succumbing to the insanity, and neither are they going through health Armageddon because of it..
Lots of nice stores, restaurants, bakeries; nice little park. Thanks for the tour. About 25 years ago a little Baptist Church started in a storefront just beyond the subway station underpass just before where the Mexican restaurant is. I don't remember what it was called, they had a little plush roaring lion and a Bible in the window. Do you know of the place? Merry Christmas!
The Covid test lines,, My best guess is that they are tourist to your city and from my understanding most if not all flights you have to have no less than 24 hour Covid test to get back home. And I bet the closer you are to the airport longer the testing lines are. Thank you, for the walk. Have a brake friend. 🤗
В Новом году я желаю вам домашнего благополучия, душевного спокойствия, ясности мыслей, здоровья вашим близким, успехов в карьере, достижения ваших целей и бесконечного количества счастливых дней.
Feel sorry for the guy at the end of that covid testing line, after spending the day in line with all those people that think they need to be tested he will probably be infected for sure by the time he makes it to the front of the line.
I lived in Astoria 2013-2014 and I miss it. Thank you for the video. I hope you make more videos of Astoria. There’s so much there to see.

I remember Astoria very different when compared to the 1990s. Even then there were not nearly the amount of restaurants as now.
Great Greek heritage well maintained the old structure best place to visit for vacation be safe

You didn't show Omonia Cafe. The best Greek Cafe in Astoria. Omonia has been in the neighborhood for over 30 years.
