- The US has carried out airstrikes on Iraq and Syria in retaliation for an attack that killed three American troops in Jordan.
The Iraqi military has warned that the strikes will have "disastrous" consequences for the region.
The White House says the attacks would be the first in a series in retaliation for the deaths of the three serviceman.

I know a Vietnam vet who flew the phantom jet fighter…they were shot at and also had to land of aircraft carriers at sea at night. Pretty courageous ❤

And now iran is put in the dilemma to either hope the US dont know where to hit, or relocate their assets and risk them being detected. After the original US troop withdrawal from Iraq in 2009, ISIS began overrunning large amounts of territory in Syria and north/central Iraq. Iraq couldn't handle that alone, but once an 86 member nation coalition became involved, ISIS rapidly lost all captured territory.
Remnants of ISIS, along with other extremist groups supported by Iran, remain operational in small areas.

Damascus reported casualties among civilians and soldiers, along with substantial damage to public and private property during the overnight strikes.
