Why You Should Get Better Gear and Gems for Akkan Raid...

I'll re-iterate since people did not actually watch or listen to the video.. You do NOT need level 9 gems or even level 7 gems because Akkan Hard has been cleared with no gems.. However, if you found it difficult to find party because you only have low level gems and don't have static or support friends, that's not gatekeeping issue but build issue.. Everyone including you and especially pug supports will try to find the best geared players.. So before you started malding about players gatekeeping, you let yourself be gatekept. (exceptions apply since some people gatekeep weird things like roster, classes, build, etc.)

I'd hardly call it weird. Roster level is more important than gems. Gems say nothing about player skill, a high roster level means they've played many characters and have a lot experience inside the game. It would be horribly wrong to assume that a person with all level 10 gems is going to make your run smoother especially when so many whales do it and i'll take lvl 7 gem with higher roster or hell mode title over that any day. All lvl 10 gems roster lvl 100 < all lvl 7 gems roster level 230.

@@markshika3967 Roster level says nothing either, since you can farm it as well. People running towers and all that and farming it. I know people with 250+ roster that are pepega at raids. This is not black and white. My guild leader plays one char, barely has like 130-140 roster and the guy cleared all hell modes and is a good player.

You'll never know lol, I've seen far too many 200+ people suck really bad once ur inside the raid but It gets more complicated.
Cool this guy is roster lvl 250+, but how am I supposed to know if this is a character he's actually played alot?
If he can afford multiple endgame alts, and this one of them? how much has he played it?
A guy who's only roster level 150 or something, is not as seasoned in the game over all, but you can probably take a guess that the class he's playing is his main, so atleast he knows his class really well right? That does actually count for something.
Obviously one has to draw the line somewhere, but one has to look at alot of things besides roster level if you want to 'gatekeep' properly, like alot of things xd
If you are host and you just insta-click on the highest level rosters all the time and don't spend time checking finer details, you aren't really doing your job properly when recruiting, and they may fail to be, what you were expecting them to be.
There's nothing more confusing than seeing a bunch of gigachads play like apes XD

@@raveturkey1996 I do not gatekeep people based on roster level, as long as they don't have below 100, because those guys are for sure mokokos. Even the 1 player guys I know have over 120-130 easily and if they engaged with horizontal, more than that. I gatekeep based on build, based on gems, based on set level, based on stats. Very rarely cards cause most people have the minimum of LoS 18 KLC 18.
I had one guy complaining y-day during my 3rd Akkan clear when I was making the lobby, that why I don't accept him since he had a clear. The guy had lv7 gems and I told him, if he wants to be janitor, I will accept him. He refused, so I told him to find another group. I mean, why will I take him when the next guy has lv9s or even some lv10s? I mean, I invested a lot of resources into getting full lv9 gems + 3 lv10 dmg gems.
Took advantage of the gold price drop for gems during the previous story express. Having at least a few lv9 dmg gems at this stage is the very minimum, at least on the high level skills. For example, as an Robust Soulfist, I have my lv10 gems on Pummel, Energy Blast and Tempest Blast, the highest dmg skills, 2 lv9 dmg gems on Force Orb/Celestial Palms and all CD gems at lv9. The lv9 gems were are all fused by myself. Sometimes I traded with a friend, a CD for DMG gem or viceversa if I got the wrong one.
I do welcome lv7 gem players at my Akkan lobbies. If they are janitors. Because while he does the cleanup, the beefed up guys bruteforce dmg on the boss so the janitor guy won't have to be swapped at 4 stacks afterwards. Otherwise, I do not accept them because I have to sacrifice a good dmg dealer for an inferior one. I do expect other people doing this to me if I bring my lv7 gem alts to 1580+ content, which is why I left my dps alts at 1540-1560 and only pushed my 2 supports to Akkan.

Even if it's an alt, this is 2 legion raids after clown, surely almost by default one 'should' have higher than lvl 7's? I think that's perfectly reasonable.

Yet a lot of parties back then had issues with the DPS checks. The reason why people want fantastic builds when a new is released is because they want to push DPS. Also, I do remember my first runs of Brel hard mode. First 1-3 weeks there were always DPS check issues at gate 5 and 6 until people overgeared the content and bruteforced it. In the case of Akkan hard, this will be even more real since most people will do it at item level, 1600. Not many people will be higher than this.

That will never change, regardless of what ppl say about it. Maybe on prog day ppl may be more "lenient", but if you see 2 dps apply, 1 with level 10 and 1 with level 7, i'm willing to bet that level 7 dps is still gonna be looking for a lobby. That's where the problem is and his entire point is aswell. Maybe EUC/EUW NAW and SA don't have enough player so that won't apply to them, but NAE i can see it happen.

I don't think this will be a big problem in NA/EU in the near future. Most people still have all 7s on their alts and Korea had a lot longer to farm gems before Akkan. There also doesn't really seem to be a support shortage right now except for the week 1 Akkan hard groups. At 1540 ilvl supports are everywhere. Will be the same with Akkan in a month or two.

@@mohamedsami9087 Scouter is not a denied class in KR. If they gatekeep based on class, they gatekeep Deathblow Striker, similarly with how we gatekeep Berserkers. Why they gatekeep DB Striker? Because in KR, these players are usually MVP chasers who contribute nothing outside of that. They do not contribute at stagger checks or destruction checks (they even have little to offer in this regards), because they want to keep their skills to do damage.
As long as the Scouter is properly built, with lv10 gems (there is no excuse to not have 2 lv10 gems), then they are good to go. Class deals good damage, but not S tier damage.

I play with one in my static and he does good damage. It is also easy to play. I play in EU as well. I do not decline Scouters unless they have shit builds. If they have good build, with lv9-10 gem, they are good. I do not decline SH as well, unless they have shit builds. Gatekeeping based on class is stupid honestly. All classes in this game are good. It is players that play it like shit. I have met way more bad Sorc players, a class that can potentially do far more damage than any Scouter or SH. Ditto Berserkers.

LvL 7 gems for Akkan NM are enough + LOS 18/30 and Tripods 4/5 + weapon quality 80% + good accs 5x3 i think. Akkan HM is a complete other think, LvL 9 gems are required + full ancient accs 5x3+1 and LOS 30. Otherwise you have big problems with damage, thats what Memo said for weeks.

@orikoti Your statistic is also flawed, as you compare the average player who doesn't bus with one that does not. For every guy that busses, there are 50 who don't. During the learning phase, you are bound to not do as much damage because you are not familiar with boss patterns. But after dozens of attempts during the first 1-3 weeks, you gonna ingrain it in your muscle memory and do optimal damage, even if not as good as your average busser.

Since most people will do Akkan HM at 1600, the possibility of DPS check is far more real, since you do not overgear the boss.

I have 7 lvl 9s, 2 lvl 8s and 2 lvl 7s. Thats about what i can do and im even actively buying gems to increase it and run a lot of Cubes. A lot of time went into this. Everyone claiming they have 10s over 10s playing the game normally is talking bs. Bussing aint "normal" and investing 1000 bucks aint either. I dont blame people for doing such things after all people buying stuff is good for the game but some folks just have wrong standards.

Honestly, should've been gatekeeping people back when Brel HM came out. Can you do it with lvl 5 gems? Sure, easily.
We had a sign up sheet. Every week, people be joining with their scuffed lvl 5 gem Paladins and they sucked expecting to be carried. They never took the time or money to invest in their characters. We had 3 hour runs where we didn't clear. It got to a point where pug runs were more efficient than runs with people in a voice call. I just took my name off the sign up sheet at that point.
Definitely not joining any party with people who skimp on gems and other stuff for Akkan. Don't care if it's toxic or part of the problem with the game. Zero excuse to have lvl 5 gems by Akkan.

Support advantage, true story, i joined a party in HM Kayangel, the leader asked for achievement, i dint speak anything because i cleared NM, i press quit raid and join another party and cleared it. while the first one still waiting for support kekw. Crying for support but still want gatekeeping, typical crybaby.
But tbh, i think gatekeeping for EU will be Lv.3 full set. most people dont care about gem unless you have non. As long as you have Lv.7, with Lv.3 set, you're good to go.

As an EU player as well, I do care about gems. I invested a lot in them and I have 3 lv10s and the rest all lv9s. I expect out of those that want to share the lobby with me to have invested similarly or close. I do not care about gems for obsolete content which we bruteforce damage because we overgear. But for end game raid, I will gatekeep cause of gems. Other people will do so as well. I mean, if you had to choose between a full lv7 gem guy and a full lv9 gem guy, who would you pick? I assume the later.

Seems like your steam account was not properly set up if it was indeed hacked. I have 4 steam accounts - all have steam guard on and F2A. Been running them for like 5 years. Nothing has been stolen. I'm pretty sure you are hiding something from us. You either shared your steam account with a person who stole from you, or you just sold your gems for RMT and now want them to be recovered.
