I will be asking my surgeon and future surgeon about this too, BUT, I will also be asking this here too. I have what is a "stump" tumor. But, I have just had my uterus removed in early August. SO, if my uterus is now gone, how can I have this stump tumor, which is supposedly growing on the smooth muscle of my uterus? At LEAST when I look up "Stump tumor", it says that it is a usually NON CANCEROUS tumor that grows on the smooth muscle tissue of the uterus. I am going to have to ask my oncologist about this, BUT, I am just wondering where else a STUMP tumor could be growing, now that I have no uterus? On my followup visit, I will definitely be wondering what is going on. I just don't understand how I can have this non cancerous tumor that is supposedly (looking it up online) A tumor that grows on the smooth muscle in your uterus, when I just had my uterus removed on August 8th. I may be wrong, BUT, I am wondering IF my insurance may be being abused. When I look up "stump tumors when you have no uterus", I can't get any useful info. I just wish that I would've had it all removed in my first surgery. The Doc said they didn't see it the first time.
It's a smooth muscle tumour.. The origin may not necessarily be in the uterus... Also there are case reports of stumps being diagnosed post hysterectomy...
