I agree the only problem is whether free agents actually want to live in Baltimore. I’m born and raised in Baltimore and I’d be the first to say that it’s not the most attractive place to live.
@@averieandhunterbanks so you offer more. No team has more spending power right when you factor in how little payroll the Orioles currently have and their insanely wealthy ownership. If they're not going to spend now, when they have the best young core of position players in baseball, when are they going to? They have zero players signed long term.
@ I agree take care of that contract when he’s already in your possession. My guess is he wants to pick which state he lives in because most teams will pay that price for him. He’s a west coast kid.
Jim Riley, Great channel. I am a Yankees fan and I think Hal Steinbrenner will go top dollar for Soto! It's either the Mets or Yankees for Soto! Good pickup for Dodgers on getting the pitcher Snell. Plus, Yankees and the Mets need more than just getting Soto.
Let Bregman walk, you cannot be better than you were this year. He adds financial liability. Not as clutch in playoffs as he’s made to be. In a lot of playoff games a clutch hit from him would have changed the game and he couldn’t do it or ended a rally with a double play. Also trade framber, he chokes frequently when you need him most. Trade Tucker. Compare Astros record with and without him. He can be gone
I'm sorry, I know we're both Blue Jays fans and I agree with you about the fact that the Jays hav e no chance to sign Soto, but you are wrong about the idea that somehow there is a unicorn 'pot of money. Ohtani and Soto are completely different. Going after Ohtani was a business decision that completely made sense for Rogers unrelated to what happens on the field, while bidding for Soto is strictly a baseball decision in the narrowest sense. Ohtani generated over US$150 MM in 2024 for the Dodgers. Soto promises to generate zero for whoever signs him beyond a small uptick in gate receipts if the team wins more games.
As an astros fan im so tired of seeing folks say we should resign bregman. NO. He isn't worth even half what he is asking for and id also trade Tucker and Valdez this off-season of they won't sign extensions. Its just silly saying we would resign him when the Astros dont do high dollar long contracts, especially for players on the decline like bregman
The stove is COLD .. trade market is COLD. I was expecting something more than this . One week away from winter meetings .. i hope that this change .. in your videos of trade market yoynsay that Will be very busy ..
The whole discussion around Soto is an issue to me simply because MLB fans have this nostalgia thinking the Red Sox & Yankees are still the old Red Sox & Yankees neither of them are. Yankees had to be forced to pay Judge because the Giants offered Judge more money & Judge wanted another year from the Yankees to come back. If that isn’t a massive sign they aren’t the same Yankees as old idk what to tell people. Why I say the Red Sox aren’t the old Red Sox anymore they traded Mookie Betts & Chris Sale ( who went on to win the Cy Young his first year after being traded ) and Xander Bogarts walked who was one of the best SS’s in MLB at that time. I know fans of those teams will say oh well that doesn’t mean anything but I completely disagree it’s why I’ve said from the beginning I think it’s the Mets that sign Soto & these other teams are being used as leverage on the Mets to just pay up what Soto wants. Also the Mets since Cohen has bought the team has paid guys outside of Degrom which was the absolute right call not to because he has only pitched in 20 games the last 3 years combined.
Today is a great day for Alex Bregman to resign with the Astros lol Astros shouldn't mess around with this considering they also need a 1st baseman and at least 1 outfield bat. 1st base, left and center field were huge holes that cost houston a real shot at a title this past season
Noone is going to Toronto 😂 those guys are going to contenders who are in win now mode right now. The Jays front office can't even commit to Vlad and lock him up, so why would anyone want to sign knowing there's no concrete plan moving forward? Make it make sense
This guy hasnt predicted anything, and if at all, he's been wrong about everything. He just did a whole video not too long back about how roki sazaki will not be posted, and one thing that aggravates me, he has not predicted anybody going to the red sox, even though they're all in this year. Soto's mother lives in the same building as big poppy, and nobody thinks he's going to the red sox?
I don’t understand this…. If Yankees miss out on Soto, how’s our big move Walker???? We’ll have 100 mil + to spend with everything coming off the books.
Yeah the bullpen needs an overhaul. They will likely need to take a flyer on a bounce back starter maybe Buehler. O'Neil and Walker are also other good options for bats.

The Orioles new ownership groups is worth $120 billion. There's no reason they can't afford to bring Burnes back and add more.
I agree the only problem is whether free agents actually want to live in Baltimore. I’m born and raised in Baltimore and I’d be the first to say that it’s not the most attractive place to live.
They tried to extend him and he declined
@@thomasgaines4636 Yeah. I get that. Leaving night games at Camden is sketchy af.

snell is not worth his deal....not even close...hal will fold on soto....and he should

They wrote “Jake” Flaherty in the article. 🤷🏾♂️ Anyway, great review Jim.
The Fried take was genius!! Good Job, Jim!!
Steve! Hope you & your family had a great Thanksgiving
Happy black friday deals, Los Angeles DEFERRALS. Of MLB
LA Tax Dodgers
@rayfinkle9369 tax for who? Blake snell no because he lives in wash, state no taxes there.
i watched the 1953 world series and have seen many many young podcasters/reporters upchuck nonsense. jim riley is worth the watch. all good stuff.
Why would any of those Aces want to sign w the Angels lol?!
If today is black Friday can Alex anthopoulos get juan soto at a discount so the braves can go under the luxury tax?😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What Up, Jimmy James!! Show the ❤ and SMASH the Like for this Man!!
Dude if the Braves give him a 6 year deal, he’s not going anywhere. He wants to be a brave. His back up is LA.
Not a chance the Braves are giving a 31 year old pitcher a six year deal. Or even a five year deal. Never gonna happen.

Framber Valdez to Atlanta Dana brown knows that farm real well
Rays need resolution on Franco’s contract, they could use that money on other players.

Everybody is waiting on Soto
Boston fan, does not want Flarherty, wants Burns or Freid. Bloom would never pay Pivetta unless he had 2 broken arms.
Soto to the Mets. I just can't see Hal going $700 million. I agree with most everything else you said.
The whole discussion around Soto is an issue to me simply because MLB fans have this nostalgia thinking the Red Sox & Yankees are still the old Red Sox & Yankees neither of them are. how about Lux and prospects for Arozarena? haha.

If the Dodgers sign Sasaki, I'll quit watching baseball.
Santander/ Burnes/ Bregman to Jays would be ideal. Of course Jays bullpen too needs help.
Noone is going to Toronto 😂 those guys are going to contenders who are in win now mode right now. The Jays front office can't even commit to Vlad and lock him up, so why would anyone want to sign knowing there's no concrete plan moving forward? Make it make sense
Those three would be what 80 million? That's too much for what the jays seem willing to spend. They need multiple bullpen arms too
Can you do the nationals
The blue jays need 6-7 pieces
He didn’t re-sign with Atlanta bc they couldn’t come up with a deal. He’s not
Obsessed with the dodgers man. He’d rather be a brave he’s said as much.
Graves don’t do opt outs
Yankees ain't going to 700mil for Soto, lets be real Jim
Blue Jays is interested in everyone but won't sign a single player..same old story

SWR for Mountcastle would be a brutal trade for Minny as SWR has 5-6 years of control. You also overrate Mounty
Teoscar, stays at Dodgers!!
Yanks comfort zone does not include giving Soto 700000000 dollars; too many holes.
This guy is hardly ever right 👍 on free agency signings.
I don’t understand this…. If Yankees miss out on Soto, how’s our big move Walker???? We’ll have 100 mil + to spend with everything coming off the books.

This dude is wrong every time he shows up in my feed.
Jays need bats not to spend all their money on a starter
Santander and Alonso would be ideal but if Jays cannot get or cannot afford a starter then they need to work on the bullpen.
