This is live coverage of severe weather across the eastern states on Monday, August 7th. Moderate risk in place for damaging wind, but a risk for tornadoes is in place as well!

Hi Andy, I had never heard of your great channel before, until your live stream became suggested to me on Monday night. But I am definitely now a subscriber👍🙂
With the rain coming down very hard in central New York, with the sound of national weather service alerts on my cellphone, watching your livestream was actually calming and helped very much to give me a much better understanding of what was going on, I really appreciate how you were explaining things during the livestream and showing how you were finding the tornadoes that were within 40 miles of me, that the weather service had not even spotted yet.

Hi Andy im craig from i want to give a heart felt thank you for the tornados in lewis county new york my dad and mom live in turin and that hit 1 mile from there house if it wasnt for you i never would have prepared them it went north and there is damage but my mom and dad are safe because of you love you keep doing what your doing

Thank you for being there today. We knew we were in the pink red area today York county Pa. . We have had 2 tornadoes in 30 years where we live. F1 small one but to us aweful It was so calming watching you on you tube not having no fear. We left our offices at 2:00 today which alot of people in York county want home and watch you all afternoon in to the evening. People love to say be safe but you ryan and all dont say it you live it for us .

Torrential rain and high winds came through the Allentown Pa area. Tornado watch is on until 11pm

Thank you so much for your coverage. I’m from Western NC, and the winds and hail were horrible. I’m so glad that I remembered to check if you were live. My boyfriend and I hunkered down and watched your stream until our power went out. Truly, you helped us tremendously. ❤

Wow actually this is crazy. I came back to watch the parts of the stream I missed when the power went out, and noticed exactly where I live (Bakersville NC) should’ve DEFINITELY been warned for rotation. Everyone around here had been saying they saw a tornado and I was wondering if I could see any rotation, and absolutely I could!
It was refreshing to hear you getting on NWS case about the lack of tornado warning. I wish more did/would. That ended up being an EF3 tornado, on the ground for 31 minutes and traveled 16 miles. To not warn that storm for whatever reason was foolish.

The unwarned tornado in New York was rated an EF-3. That was the one that they put a tornado warning on when it got near Turin. Thank you for your coverage!
I'm a local, thankfully despite an ef3 tornado nobody was even harmed
I was just thinking about this storm and found your coverage on it. I like in the glen rock area in york county pa. We got absolutely rocked by this storm.

Just wanted to say thanks for last night's live stream Andy! I've been a viewer for a while both on Ryan's channel and yours. Most of the time I check in but the storms are nowhere near my area. Last night was surreal because it was my area for a change. I decided to stop in Haymarket to wait for the storm to blow over on my way home to Front Royal.
And is far wiser than his year. He is very good at reading radar. I know this is last night but thank you.
Good evening. How strong will the wind be in Virginia Beach Virginia?
I live in Hagerstown, MD. Yes, we actually did get a moderate risk, and we had multiple severe thunderstorm warnings for reported golf ball size hail south of Hagerstown. In Clear Spring, it has reported softball size hail.
However, we did not get too many severe weather effects in Hagerstown, only except ping pong ball size hail was reported, and the rain was really heavy.
With that in mind, after the severe weather event, it has left over 300K people without power, but in my area, we did not get a power outage at all. This severe weather event was CRAZY! And a new largest hailstone record in Clear Spring, Washington County, MD - the softball size hail.

I'm here in Baltimore and that's wind gust was pretty serious I took a ride down perring parkway towards the college and tons of trees down and branches very abnormal for this area I was excited but praying that no one was hurt

Ronceverte wv greenbrier county on boarder of monroe county.....a 75 ft tree fell on my SUV, carport, 8x10 trailer, swingset, playhouse, and slide are destroyed. National weather is coming to evaluate tomorrow. They are saying Talcott WV and pickaway wv were hit with tornados. I live right beside river close to second creek and sinks grove.

yeah, if you watch when it was going through, I found a spot I was curious about on velocity. I left it at "we'll see if they warn that" or something similar, and I believe that was the west Knox tornado
@@metandyhill Super late to comment but just found your channel. You're correct that the weirdness you pointed out was in the general area where it touched down. I was in the path of that storm (tornado disapated before it reached me, but still had straightline winds). We had absolutely no warning that there was anything tornadic about it - I was watching (basic phone app) radar and NWS the whole time and nada.
Luckily, the appointment I was at was in an interior room so we only had to deal with lost power. Unluckily, the storm damage was between me and home, so it was a (not so fun) afternoon.
