laughing. thanks. I was going to post the same thing. idiot. why didn't he do a little prep, maybe a little rehearsal? I don't know... ya think.. lol....
THX U VERY MUCH u saved my neckleace i watched a guide in my language and i didn't got it doesn't metter how much i tried thx u ! u got a sub! im from israel if u guys wondering
Laying it out on the table made it clear and easy to see what you were doing. other videos shows them with it with there hands, and you can't really see how it's done.thanks so much, flag is up and flying
What you tied is a TRIPLE fisherman's knot. A double fisherman's knot has two wraps on either side while a triple has three. It's purely semantics, but it is important to know there is a difference.
This is actually a triple fisherman's knot because you've added the extra loop to make it stronger. The double fisherman's knot is more popular with climbers because it is plenty strong and isn't as difficult to undo. Once loaded, the triple fisherman's knot is a real bear to untie.
After a little practice, per his restarts: side 1: start loop over the top. side 2: start loop from under. Or vice versa. They just need to be opposite.
lol, im reading the comments. Good on you for "knot" editing your video. and showing your mistakes. my greatest teacher was named mistake. For the genius that said "I wanted to know how to tie 2 knots together". Simply cut the rope in 1/2 and follow this kids procedure. Then again what would I know, considering I hold a career that 99.9% of the Country couldnt make a day through.
Thanks for the immediate correction: "After a little practice, per his restarts: Side 1: start loop over the top. side 2: start loop from under, or vice versa. They just need to be opposite." DaveE7171
Tie the first knot what comes most naturally to you. Get used to tying it that way. Then start practicing loops. Tie the first knot, then flip the entire loop over and the opposite knot gets tied exactly the same, which is opposite the first knot. This method only requires becoming proficient at the knot, the the direction is irrelevant.
A double fisherman's knot would only be needed when tying mono filament, any braided or wound rope will never slip with a regular fisherman's knot.....But i am sure for your tutorial your rope choice would be easier to see and understand....Nice job !
I struggled with this knot for a while. I saw one guy on UA-cam tie this knot wrong in the same way, but he didn't admit it and start again, he clipped the video so you barely got a glimpse of the wrongly finished knot!
Just a thought. Maybe you should consider actually practicing the knot until you can tie it properly the first time, before you make a video demonstration on how to tie it.
your little mistake on the direction s possibly the single most important part of the tut. Knots tied incorrectly have been proven to have a final strength of as low as 30% compared to the same knot tied correctly :)
This is a double Fisherman's Knot in a specific application, the Prusik Loop. It's really the same as tying two pieces of rope together, except in this case the pieces are connected at their respective other ends.
Thanks for demonstrating several ways to do it wrong. Very clear.

I liked it. Shows what it to look for and understand the wrong and correct way.
I was really struggling with being able to try there’s knot. You showed it perfectly. Thank you.
I will say this is the third video I've attempted to watch explaining this, and this is the only one that I understood. Thank you.

Thanks for the proper explanation, you made it look easy ,got it right away.

You made it very easy to understand thanks

Agree with below - showing the mistake was the most important part of the video. Thanks for sharing!
agree with you guys...excellent video, clear, and thanks to the mistake even clearer!!! Good job moFirearms!!!
Thanks!!! I got it on the first try!! :)
Good neat explanation
A single is very good as a stop knot as a figure of eight unties in the sort of rope he is using . A reef knot also comes loose in this sort of rope
Thank you so much for this video!!!
It's a strong and beautiful knot, isn't it?

Отлично показал как не надо делать! :))
Thank you for showing ALL the possible mistakes so that we can avoid them. Or learn how to correct them. (Seriously).
Thanks...I did it..worked perfectly
Thanks man
This is knot a good video
Yep - well said.
Next time film from your perspective. That would make it alot easier for your viewers.
Very helpful!! Thanks!!
Thanks for the feedback dmp05.
Triple ?
Cripes, I might as well make a video.
what is it used for
holy shit

Me: Watching this video after 10 years while posted😖

I was doing it right, and then noticed you were doing it opposite, so I switched, and then you realized you were doing it wrong. ಠ_ಠ

Don't be a smart ass.

A great video showing how not to do videos.
never learn a knot from someone that cant count
this is a triple fishermans
Dam! That was painful to watch. Next time you should view the video before you upload...
Bad example. You could try again and perhaps be better prepared?
Dude. Maybe learn how to do it yourself before making a how-to video?
confusing that you tied the same rope to itself .. I want to tie two ropes together .. not one rope to itself
This is a specific climbing application, i.e. making a Prusik loop.
So why is it called a double fisherman's knot .. if it's really a prusik loop?

poor video
why
well, another unplanned incorrect and ultimately frustratingly dull video!
