I remain cautiously optimistic. We've seen in the past how often the 'Creators of good game franchise' use their association to showcase a new game only for that game to not be that good. Do these new developers retain all the talent of the original team? Do the new names they bring in meet their own level of expertise? Do they have the resources to pull off their vision? All questions that need answers before I can be certain things will be as good as the hype seems to believe.
3:00 The larger enemy model looks like the devs couldn't decide if they like werewolves or werebears more and just hybridized them together. The other enemy is basically just a gnoll(hyena humanoid) with cybernetic limbs.
Wizards involvement makes me worry, but these aren't just "from the executive producers of thing you like" these are the writers and developers of Bioware itself. A lot of the team that brought us their legendary games are involved. From what i can tell, they aren't making a spiritual successor, they are making a new game. All i can do is cross my fingers and say, "Don't f*** it up, Don't f*** it up. Don't f*** it up!" If they do well maybe they can buy the Jade Empire IP. BiowEAr hasn't killed it yet.
To clarify.."soul" is another word for AUTHENTICITY. That is what BG3 has and most AAA games don't. Just look at the difference between Starfield dialogue and BG3 dialogue. Huge difference. As a musician with "soul" I know this to be true. You have to EARN that shit. You full on have to find your genuine self and present THAT. It takes courage and determination and often, very hard times. Pay your dues to sing the blues, so to speak. It applies to ALL art, not just music. Have a great day.
I've seen a couple videos about it over the last couple months or so, but I was probably the perfect algorithmic target for them with an interest in older and indie cRPGs.
Been hearing news about this game for a while now Gotta say: pretty excited, although tentatively (given the last recent years of gaming, few exceptions aside..)
I'm a huge fan of OG Bioware and their IP's like Mass Effect and Dragon Age and I honestly couldn't care less about this new Veilguard game. To me nothing I've seen regarding that game comes across as appealing to me. Along with the overall trajectory that the company has been going in I aint got much hope for them. When it comes to Exodus I didn't even know this game existed till this video. If the OG Bioware crew are working on this and it's of the quality level of their previous games then I'm down for it. Fingers crossed we get a banger of a game.
Peter F. Hamilton one of the best current sci-fi writers is involved in the project too isn't he. He's already created a novel in the setting. I really think his will be something special.
I'm interested in this but from what I've heard we still aren't getting playable ship combat and that is something I hope will be added each time a new Mass Effect style game is announced. The lack of playable space combat always leaves me feeling like my character is just a passenger on the ship who chooses the destinations of the craft instead of being the ship's commander. Edit: And its not like having both an on foot combat system and a space combat system is impossible. I remember RPGs with both from the 80s and 90s having both, not to mention Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader last year so they can do it the developers just choose not to.
@@candycommander It might be worth it. Seriously though I remember playing sctfi RPGs from the late 80s and 90s with both playable character combat and playable ship battles. If they could do it on PCs back then why was slacking off and leaving out the ship combat acceptable for the mid to late 2000s and beyond?
Im down for a good RPG game made by the talent from Bioware. Exodus. Im going to buy that game, it is rare this days im looking forward to a game. So far it is Exodus, Vampire Syndicate.
I am absolutely in love with the lore of exodus, but I’m really excited to see the gameplay. In an ign interview the way they described the gameplay makes it seem like it might be a combination of mass effect andromeda and hogwarts legacy with stealth. HYPED!!! Also certain affinity is helping with the gameplay so I know it’s gonna be great.
I'm really struggling to contain my excitement for this game. I don't want to get my hopes too high, but it just looks and sounds SO GOOD! Crossing fingers and toes that it's the spiritual successor to ME/Andromeda we SHOULD have gotten in the way that BG3 was the BG/DA sequel we deserved. I'm really praying for that kind of quality. Re Veilguard (I refuse to call it "Dragon Age") will be a 'fine" game. Maybe even a "good" game. It just won't be a Dragon Age game. I'm so uninterested in everything about that game it's devastating - Especially after the many thousands of hours I've poured into DA:O alone (up in the 10k hours if I count all three games and their DLC's). It all feels like a waste. Fingers crossed this game will sate my hunger for good gritty sci-fi in the same way Larian has filled the void for dark fantasy.
2:59 this is misinformation on your part buddy, it's not really confirmed those are in game models because apparently those are being used for some other project that is related to Exodus.
I have my doubts, mostly because they are doing this under Wizards of the Coast, and they ruined both Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons. I expect the WotC people to insist on certain things being added to just push a message ruining the story.
Yeah, I hope this is a great one. I know these developers left bioware because of drama with the company. They said wotc are not interfering with them but, we'll see soon enough. 😁
"From the makers of [blank]" Which usually basically means that 4 dudes that did the marketing for those games and maybe the janitor for the company thought that they TOO could make a top-tier AAA game, and so here we are now.
You realize the lead on this game was one of the top guys who lead Baldur's gate 1 and 2, Star wars the Old Republic and dragon age origins? And they also have the lead writer from Mass effect 1 and 2? This is one of the few times when there are real OGs on staff in major position.
I'm not sure I trust them. This is the same group, after all, that ruined BioWare. Now they have a new dumb game, with a new dumb "mass relay" that has time dilation. Every time you use it, everyone you know and love died of old age decades ago. Its a terrible idea. Even if they landed on something good (storywise), you know that they can't make an ending to save their lives. This is the same group that brought us the end of the Mass Effect trilogy - the same group that flipped off their fans and murdered Shepard like a common dog in the street. I seriously doubt that the real talent from the original BioWare team would work hand in hand with one of the two primary dipshits that directly ruined Mass Effect as a whole.
Who is your favourite companion in Dragon Age: Origins? 😁
all of them :P
The dog, especially if you are non mage human.
@@laoxep so a elf mage?
@@DarkMaze-bd4ov elf mage romancing Irving xD
all of them.
Exodus is absolutely the top of my anticipated list. Bring it!
Can't wait! 😁😁😁

Absolutely. Let's hope this game can deliver. 😁
That exodus trailer shows off some touching examples of what makes Humanity the best. Love, Strength, Courage, Sacrifice, Loyalty.
Yeah. I can't wait for this one. 😁
Oh snap, I completely forgot about this one, I'm glad it's still in production.
Yeah! Hope to get an update soon. There's a novel out just now by Peter F Hamilton set in the Exodus universe. 😁

Reminds me of the Krogan aswell. 😁 The way the armour rises up at the back of the big one's head. 😁
@rosshendry450 yeah, that's neck protection I would suppose
They are doing that old school BioWare world building, which makes me happy.
Yeah! The trailer looked great. 😁

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Absolutely looking forward to playing this game.
Me as well! Looks promising so far. 😁

No problem 😁

Me neither! This looks like it could be great. 😁

It's relly weird that peole aren't talkimng about this game!
I know. I hope at the game awards there will be some more news. And more awareness. 😁

They havent show much so far, is not on people's radar yet
honestly the trailer sucked ..Hopefully the next trailer doesn't suck.
I'd rather not get hyped up about anything in this gamin era. It's all slop anyways

Yeah, I want a great story, I think this will have it. 😅😁
I saw the space wolfman design, is there a chance we get to play as one or have one as companion?
That would be great. 😁😁😁
The teams behind the stories are the real core, not the ip. I am happy to learn where those leads went. Definitely have my attention.
Yeah, I'm interested in this one 😁😁😁

Ah right okay. 😁 Might be an older design idea or something. Gives us an idea of the art style of the game at least. 😁
Considering WotC (Wizards of the Coast) is behind it... sadly I will have to pass on it...
