Is it me, or is this newer version very difficult to sing along with because of the complicated melody? I grew up with the version much like this: (search UA-cam “Keech Trece Glory to God in the Highest”). Which version do you prefer?

I prefer this to the Shalom Gloria but it’s getting quite repetitive now. I’d like to go to one of the Latin Gregorian settings but I need a good cantor / schola.

You are right, the older mass settings were probably easier to sing with simpler melodies, but the newer versions such as Mass of St. Francis played exceptionally well here by James, are an amazing experience for the congregation, in the big cathedrals with the pipe organ.
