War is now illegal (like it ever take lawyers to say it's okay to shoot someone). Instead there is organized murder where people register to hunt and kill other people -- and to be hunted themselves. Another clever story by Robert Sheckley. (from "The Critical X Minus One" by Jim Fanisher)
Credits (Goldin): Arthur Hughes, Frank Maxwell, Ian Martin, Irv West, Lawson Zerbe, Robert Sheckley (author), Teri Keane, Fred Collins (announcer), Ernest Kinoy (adaptor), Kenneth MacGregor (director), William Welch (producer)
That must have been a fairly large lighter.
That story was so insane it was a thing of beauty. Thanks for sharing these.👍
It was probably a table lighter. They're not really a thing any more now that smoking isn't in fashion.
Wondered when that was written. Story matches 'The Tenth victim' movie with Jane Fonda perfectly even though she was the Hunter & another twist was added.
The 10th Victim was based on the original story, though heavily modified. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seventh_Victim. It was Ursula Andress, though, not Jane Fonda.
Nice turn
"I'm in clothing, you know."
"Yes, I can see that."
'It makes me feel so soft and helpless.'
Oh, she's totally gonna kill him. 😆
Janet, what a gal!! 10/10 in my book, sorry her book!!
Ouch. Didn't see that coming
Robert Sheckley is world class
Set a theif to catch a theif , or something like that . Quite a twist at the end , 🤔😲
So, some people sign up and become victims without being hunters? If everyone who signed up was a hunter first, there'd be no victims.
POV: Ur listening to this because of history class
YES
Sorry guys what does Pov mean? Of course point of view! Just came to me!!
Yeah, rather predictable 🤷🏼♂️🤓😎✌🏻
This is horrible, for me as a European......
Not all of them can be winners, completely predictable so kind of ruined the whole thing
I kind of saw it coming, too, but still a very good production overall.
