I am Australian and no voodoo culture Here. Papa Legba came into my life and I got so many stories I would love to share. The African community here are either Muslim or Christian and are shocked when I mention voodoo. It's Monday here and I'm playing this in front of my altar. Sometimes I see him like a handsome Marvin Gaye when he had the beard and sunglasses and red t shirt. Sometimes he appears like a Morgan Freeman type older man. With a cane. He speaks to me every day and I cannot do without him. Uknow what he did for me once? I was in hospital and had no money and went outside to search for cigarette butts to smoke and found a nice big one. Then I heard a voice say U gonna enjoy this man. Because st Anthony remembers. And guess what.
It was a fucking joint. I said Papa Legba , U asshole and we laughed so hard together. And he made me buy a guitar and sing and I'm real good now, making quite a bit if money. I said to him, but I'm not black and he said all cours can come to him. And he also always shows me every side of a situation before I make a decision. He also made me buy a cool hat, I look like an old blues man. I sometimes leave offerings at a three way crossroads so we have Legba in our hood, just outside a preschool so he can watch over the kids. And he makes me feel so cool. Like I belong. And when I got no one to talk he always there. Sometimes with Oshun or baton Samedi. I wish we had voodoo here. One day I'll come to new Orleans and I like to go to Africa on an Oshun pilgrammage.

First of all for all the people saying slavery was an African invention. You have to understand slavery to everyone else was NOT the same as slavery to the white man. saying that is to give excuses to the evil that the European has done to not only africans but MOST indigenous people of the earth. Every race including white Europeans were slaves at one point or another… actually the black men was the shortest period of slavery… read the Bible the Jews were slaves for over 3000, Chinese thousands of years, Hindus etc, I guess it’s called human nature to believe some are inferior to them even within the same country and same race… Africans were selling their enemies not afraid of anything, they still do it to this day… no acuse for those scum bags… please, even though slavery was bad… I am glad I was not born in africa
