Of any beloved movies that tried to continue the story without the main actor this one is the best, to me it never felt out of place, pretty fun movie.
I kind of get Jim Carrey's cynical attitude towards the movie when a lot of terrible "prequels" or "sequels" of his films had come out around that time (Ace Ventura Jr, Son of the Mask etc) but I actually enjoyed Dumb and Dumberer. It definitely wasn't as terrible as the others because of the actors doing such a good job playing the characters.
