I remember when I thought winning the Purple Gem Cup would unlock Nitrus Oxide as a playable character but instead I got Fake Crash. xD
Then I went ahead and beat all of oxides ghosts thinking that'll unlock him

that was a great odea to include the bosses in the gem cups
In CTRNF, all bosses no longer unlocked by Purple Gem Cup, but instead, by defeating them, Fake Crash is now reward for this cup
