Personally, I wouldn’t paint the walls any other color but the “cream” background of the wallpaper and then go with a grey for the trim. With only one window and then your furniture and wall hangings, the “cream” may help keep the room brighter.
Skip the yellow. We just got rid of the yellow walls we had & it’s 100% improved. I can’t see it with that wallpaper. It is YOUR place though in the end & everyone has different tastes.
Totally agree, yellow and grey for a bedroom? Of course absolutely your home your call. Have you thought of a very pale Rose? A grey with blue tones for the woodwork not a flat grey?
Walls painted a creamy white like the background of the wallpaper and grey for door and mouldings. Add colour with decor such as linens, pillows and curtains.
Door panels are magnificent ! Very brave to ask audience input ! Here goes ! Wall color, match background of the toil. Trim and door, grey from the toil. Cove or decorative trim at the ceiling, white like ceiling. It will lift the eye and give the room class. This is a neutral palete because of the toil walpaper. Adding more color chops the room up visually. Use any muted color for accent, which you can easily change at will. 😊
Bonnie, I agree. But dear hearts, it's your home. You want it calm for a bedroom: relaxing. If it is a homage to the Toile de Jouy then why not accent the colors in the wall paper and not contrast? I think the background color of the toile would light up the room with the sun coming through the window. It would give it a clean, crisp airy feel. But I ain't paying the bills!
Agree with sage green. It will give the gray toile wallpaper some life. I had a black and off-white toile comforter with a checkered dust ruffle, and adding a couple seafoam green throw pillows brought some subtle color to the room. Maybe I missed this in the video, but what fabrics are you using for the bed and curtains?
Decide on fabrics in drapes and bedding before going for a harsh colour like yellow. Bedrooms should be relaxing, calming colours on walls and bright accessories.
Those yellows are all way to bright and gold. Grey goes with a very very pale yellow. And remember the color will be even darker when you put it on the walls. You don't want to look like McDonald's! Pale pink goes well with grey. Love the front door inserts!
Hi Guys, l would go for an off white on the walls ,a darker grey on the skirting boards and door and bring in yellow on bedding, pictures and other accents. I feel guests might be overwhelmed by yellow walls. If you go for yellow ,yes a dirty yellow to catch the grey in the wallpaper. ❤❤❤❤❤
Keep the sense of the room with the walls in the same background ivory colour of the toile and wood work the gray of the toile. Then any accent colour of furnishings - carpet, curtains bedding could be in a rich burgandy to add warmth. The bed /dressing table wardrobe in a cream and gold chalky paint. You could copy the toile print and put it in tall inset frames on opposite wall 😊
Approaching your grey and white toile bedroom, I would ask a few questions. Who will stay in the room? Are they paying for the room? What are their expectations for their room, the average length of stay. So often clients will ask to do a space according to their own taste and not the taste of their customer. Often, this ends up wrong on many fronts. I would ask that you make a list of what that room will be, not what you want, but what your customer wants. As in your choice maybe bold and busy colors. However your customer wants a relaxing, quiet place. Time to reflect on what you are asking of the room.
I agree with matching the background of the wallpaper. Use grey for the wood trim and doors. Go with a neutral bedding but add the pop of pale yellow in a throw pillow or sheets. Add a pale yellow vase, etc. Let the yellow be a subtle accent color and not a saturated contrast in the walls.
Looks fantastic and facing each other is perfect. Repeat of gallery border in top would be unifying. You asked: The woodwork a shade of gray, walls and ceiling off white like the wallpaper background. Framed etchings, lovely bedroom furniture and a rug for color with linens. The wardrobe with mirrors is perfect. A bed and lamp stands in the same wood tones will be just the right look. The room being plain colors can be switched seasonally with different bed covers and accessories. I think you will love the finished room.
I find picking a color palate that is already coordinated allows for a nice flow . It has various shades and complimentary colors. The grey toile is lovely and I think a light blush of whatever color you choose will keep it open, light and airy. So much goes with grey. Pick the mood you want to evoke for the room first then go for the color.
I agree with the others to skip the yellow. Just pick up the grey for the trim; paint the walls the same color as the toile background [White? Cream? Hard to see in the video.] It would be calmer and good for resting in a bedroom. Add a yellow throw to the bed if you're just dying for some color. Like the idea of the door transom being a take on the art nueveau tapestries. It's looking fantastic so far.
I would match the wall colour to the background of the toile. I would use different shades of grey on the ceiling and paint trims - check escape to the chateau and check what they did with 3 Little Greene colours, then add splashes of colour in the soft furnishings, maybe shades of pink or a multi coloured floral for cushions. To add interest add a line of colour around the feature wall with something like grosgrain ribbon.
The door panels are just beautiful, so unique. Well done.Though I’m not a fan of an accent wall of wallpaper I understand why you want to preserve its past and that’s always a nice thing. I feel the other walls should be a light bluish grey, or the cream background of the wallpaper. I wouldn’t break up the door colors. I would paint them in a shade darker then what ever you decide on the wall color. It’s a small space ( and charming too) with one window yet it lets in very nice light. Sarah perhaps take the soft yellow from those beautiful fields of daffodils Steve shared and cover a side chair with a fabric . Then pick a bunch of those beautiful daffodils and put it in a vase on that lovely window sill. I’m sure with your wonderful taste and all the suggestions it will be amazing!
The door inserts are a true work of art- amazing and so unique! I like the idea that the herons/egrets tie into the area where you live so there is some history in regard to their use on your door. As for the wall color- I’d day no to any shade of yellow with the toile wallpaper ( although certain shades of yellow are my favorites). Remove the wallpaper and yellow paint would make it a bright and happy room. But, yellow is a difficult color to work with- it changes drastically in different light throughout the day. I’d suggest a dusty ( greyed) version of green, or a dusty greyed pale pink. Check colors on the Farrow and Ball paint deck - or talk to the specialists at Little Green for advice. I get a kick from offering suggestions for paint colors you might use! I’m VERY particular about the colors in my own home. it’s fun for me- especially when I get compliments! Can’t wait to see what you decide…. Thanks!
Michael Pethrick has just painted a room with a color called Mandolin? It’s from that British paint company everyone likes. I think that would be a nice choice, or something maybe even a shade or two lighter. It’s very warm without being a brilliant yellow. Even a terracotta/orange color would look great
Love the front door artwork Steve, looks absolutely stunning! Bedroom color? Considering the space, used for quiet and relaxing, I am with the panel. With the feature wall being an accent, I feel the yellow would take away from accentuating it, sorry. Using the same color as the background of the wallpaper on the walls and a tone of grey from the wallpaper for basebords, door, etc would tie everything in very nicely and then accessorizing with pops of color that you can change easily with the seasons would create a nice relaxing space! Or one could choose a greyish, pale "dirty" lavendar color as Steve put it lol That would marry in well, as long as it has the greyish tones. Also liked the suggestion of the pale light pink. Could always take pieces of the wallpaper u removed and put them on several boards, select different colors of paint of choice and try them that way before putting on the wall. Do you want the toile to stand out or the paint? Good luck, can't wait to see what you guys choose! Oh the anticipation lol
So happy to see a follow-up on the entrance doors!! They are going to be so amazingly beautiful!! The design is perfect for your lovely, one of a kind chateau!! So impressive, Stephen & Sara!! Wow, the daffodils, what a treat!!Blessings to you both & little Dexter!! 🇺🇸
Sarah, be scared, very scared! When you were looking at the yellows, I was thinking look at violets. I thought it would be nice with the toile. That cathedral was magnificent! And your music was spot on.
What about a paler French blue-grey colour with that toile-style paper? And maybe a darker version of that on the door, and then a white for the trim that goes with the white of the wallpaper? So fantastic about the daffodil forest! What a great thing to have! Fantastic cathedral in Wales! Those ceilings are so fantastic!
I love those blue-greys, but I worry about it in a room that has a somewhat small window for a big space. I think St Davids cathedral is really underrated as a place to visit. Beautiful and so historic!
@@ManorandMaker That's why I was thinking of a pale version of it. Just enough to have colour, but not enough to make the room dark. The richer colour can be reserved for the door. Anyway, thank you for the reply, and for the video of that cathedral and your chateau. It's a real beauty!
@@ManorandMaker Oh, BTW, if you want some actual B&W toile, and the pinkish/red colour for that matter (the kind on canvas), you're welcome to take a bunch from my place here in Normandie! A previous owner (that worked for Versace) put it up EVERYWHERE! My neighbour knew him, she said he loved to upholster, so he upholstered the house! LOL C'est pas forcement mon goût, et de plus, trop c'est trop !
I understand why some people don't like yellow: it can look dingy, especially if it's been in place a long time/is dirty. However, I agree with Sarah that it is outstanding for bringing a little sunshine and light into a space that doesn't get a lot of light or only gets a cold northern light. I love hearing Sarah and Steve's discussions on color and why they think some colors work in a space (hooray for judging colors IN THE SPACE they'll be used in!) or why they're not quite working! All that said, I think it's near-impossible to judge colors and color combinations without being there in person. There are subtleties of light in a space that no video or monitor will capture. And the front doors look STUNNING!
I'm always surprised how different the colours look as I'm filming them. The dining room colour is like that - the video takes out a least half of the green in the turquoise colour. So interesting...
Not a fan of the yellow color scheme. A rich cream for the walls like the background color of the toile would be soothing. Then I would consider going with the warmer tones for bedding and accessories; some if in the pinks or pale peaches. Honestly, if you painted cream, anything would work for the rest of the decorating,
The cathedral is just magical. Must have been georgeous in person. Not a fan of yellow in that room but it is your place. Color is such a personal choice.
The door inserts are absolutely stunning. My preference would be a lavender for the bedroom, as yellow is a stimulating colour for a room like a study or kitchen, not so much for relaxation. So many great projects. I also did meant to mention some time ago that a possible solution for the missing chair rail in the beautiful cafe room could be a replica moulding made of silicone that is flexible before it hardens, like Terry and Ash used in their chateau. Cheers, from Lyn NSW, Australia
Love the door panels. Great to see all the daffodils! Room colour…no yellow. Light cream similar to the background of the toile. Grey baseboards and door trim, maybe all the door grey. Pops of colour in the room that compliments the grey toile. Good luck on the bathroom!
What elegance! When people come in, they will know thatv they are in a very special place. Congratulations. Yes, one wall of busy paper is enough. Yellow is a good idea---nuances are impossible to judge online, but you are the artists! As to the cathedral, I had no idea!
Please no yellow! How does yellow fit with the age of the chateau? I lean more toward a dusty lavender/lilac. Or a light dove gray. ( sorry for the gray suggestion)
Lol. I cut out the bit where steve and I talked about that yellow being in the art nouveau pallette.. to which I replied that it's hard to argue for art nouveau while standing next to a toile...
Please do the walls the background of the wallpaper and save the bright colours for accent pieces only such as cushions and little spots of decor. You can always switch out decor but you are “married” to the main colours unless you have an unlimited budget. To go so bright defeats the purpose of keeping the wallpaper in the first place!
I love the door you’ve done a fantastic job Steve 🥰 gorgeous wardrobes too, the bedroom wallpaper loos fantastic and the white walls are lovely with some lovely art on the wall and beautiful curtains to match the paper 💕
Sarah, how a sewing machine in every room as a side table, then use them in a quilting retreat to make a wall hanging. Steve, I'm not feeling the yellow, but shades of Lilac or lavender would be beautiful! Love love, LOVE the door, can't wait for prints or fabric to be available!! Hope to visit to volunteer this fall. Colorado Cherri
The cathedral was not only beautiful but stunning as well. Not sure about the yellow for the room. I think matching the gray from the toile would be more calming. Either gray walls….cream baseboards and door or cream walls and gray baseboards and door. You could do an accent color for your “pop” of color. Someone suggested the blue from your logo which goes well with gray. Can’t wait to see what you 2 decide! 🥰🍷🙏
I would stay clear of the yellow. It’s far too harsh for the subtle colours of the wall paper. Have you seen the lovely muted colours of the Farrow and Ball paint? I would go for one of those - maybe elephants breath which is a warm mid grey and team up with the palest blush pink for an accent colour in fabrics etc.
I wouldn't go with yellow or lilac. I think you'll lose the authenticity of the room. When I see the white walls I think refreshening them would look awesome with the grey trims with some gold touches on woodwork and doors. Then add your pops of colour through artworks and bedding. I think it would look elegant and appealing. Yellow in a bedroom makes me feel nauseas when in bed. This is a quote from a paint specialist "“There aren't many colours I would tell people not to use in their bedroom since everyone has a unique taste. However, one colour that is known to have negative effects is bright yellow. This colour is known to mess up sleep since it tricks the brain into thinking it is daytime or time to be awake.29 Sept 2023" Might be worth thinking about. 🥰🤗☺
I would paint the walls in the bedroom the same as the background of the toile to keep the room light and bright, but bring the color in though fabrics and accessories. The woodwork can then alternate the gray and cream from the toile.
If you go yellow, I would think a muted rather than bright yellow. I still prefer the gray. But if you chose a gray/lavender that would be great on the walls. Bring in yellow with accents.
Brilliant piece of cutting to get that last thin piece of board in place on the floor. Oh, and I’ve visited St David’s Cathedral twice so pilgrimage completed 😊
Beautiful cathedral. I never get tired of looking at it. What made my St. David’s Day this year was that we had our first snowfall this year in my little village. Magical! ❤
The daffodil field was gorgeous!! Your mix of decorating, nature and architecture this video was very interesting. Enjoyed every minute. I'll stop commenting now! lol
I think a light periwinkle, more toward blue, would be pretty. It marries well with grey. Then, you could do various yellows in bedding or pillows curtains and accessories.
Love the grey toile, any colour will match beautifully with such a neutral shade. Think about what mood you want to convey, bright and cheerful or soft and relaxing. Personally I prefer a more relaxing shade for a bedroom. Please avoid multicoloured doors, they are jarring. A plain door will be more harmonious, particularly for a bedroom. However, it needs to be your choice, reflect your personalities and you need to be comfortable and happy with what you choose for your lovely chateau home xx
I googled what colors compliments yellow and grey when decorating. Hope this helps good luck. Decorating with yellow and grey home decor The color wheel points to purple as yellow's complementary color, and adding touches of purple will create a striking look. Mix grey and yellow with orange or green, yellow's two neighboring colors, for a warm, earthy feeling in your space.
As for yellow, maybe the palest in curtains & pillows. Would like to see the walls in the background colour of that lovely wallpaper & gray doors etc. Then you can easily change the look of the room with any colour with this neutral background. Love your videos! Sara, I have a 401 Singer….grad gift from parents. Giving away my age here. All good wishes from Toronto!
Oh my gosh we love them!! the doors I mean, that is beyond amazing you could have a machine that can do that in a home! now we all want to own one. great job its going to be amazing
Hello! I LOVE the panels you made for the front doors!! They look like they should have always been there!! I love the Art Nouveau style that you are incorporating throughout the chateau. It's my favorite style. I enjoy your videos so much, great work!! I'm looking forward to more😀
Also for inspiration use Stephanie’s just finished bedroom! Start a “ mood” board , starting with the toile wallpaper then go to a brocante or charity shop for linans, carpet, bed?
Love that! I love Stephanie's taste (not surprising, given we basically grew up in the same demographic), but don't want to copycat - except when it happens by accident. We just don't always have the time to wait for the right find in the brocante. I like the approach of finding a piece that inspires the mood for the room around it.
Nooooo no yellow! I suggest shades of French grey, even 2 shades of French grey for the remaining walls. If you want to introduce color, which would look so lovely, use yellow accents and painted yellow furniture. Even yellow linens. I’d go with more of a golden yellow instead of the bright yellow which I think clashes.
I love the idea of yellow on the walls. At 9:08 you can see yellow through the gap in the door and it looks great next to the wallpaper. For the trim--although probably too modern a look--matte charcoal is an idea. But also: glossy white is another idea. If it were me, I'd avoid gray. À chaque un son goût!
I agree your border design would look nice BUT what about a stylized sunrise in that art nouveau style, mmm imagination tingling !!! FANTASTIC JOB and YAYY on the toile grey feature wall. Yellow is not a colour I gravitate too, but it is for you - so THAT is what is important. So many yellow walls might make skin tones look sickly ? What about your M&M LOGO - I love the blue and grey of your logo - how many agree with that? Too dark maybe ? I am so joyous when I see all those daffodils and the aquaduct and those green fields, how beautiful 💞Love you guys
Go with the soft purples remember its a bedroom yellow too bright when trying to sleep. Loved the wardrobes especially the last 2 I hope you bought those ones. Your both doing a fantastic job renovating good luck in your future projects. Love from AUS🥰
My old farm house in NC (USA) was built in 1901. We have lathes and plaster walls. I wish I was in better shape to do some serious remodeling. Your chateau is lovely, and being the artists that you both are, I’m sure everything will come together.
I love the door panels! They look so good in place. On the toile room, I still think a pale pink would be nice. Not huge on yellow so I may be bias. Blue would look good too but if you're going to paint the walls yellow please do something different with the door. I think that would be too much. I love the cathedral ceiling. That is stunning.
I liked the ideas of sage green or very light pink paint with the one toile wallpapered wall. It also depends on what bed coverings and curtains you will use, then complement the wall paint with the material.
It’s been a while since I visited your channel, you’re doing some great improvements. Steve, in the words of the great Canadian orator Red Green; if they don’t find you handsome they should at least find you handy! 🙂. You’re doing a great job. Also I hope you grabbed the flag and will fly it proudly at the chateau!
Seeing the floor of daffodils and the viaduct etc you could be mistaken for being in England. The front door panel is amazing. You are clever well done. Oh must comment on the furniture can't believe how cheap the wardrobes are. That 3 door drobe is beautiful. I wish I had room for something like that. Till next time. Xx
Ok, here we go. Color of walls would be a shade or two lighter or darker than background of toile, door and baseboards too. Not sure what kind of furniture would be in there but your color can come from the bedding and window trimmings. That's where you can go wild with the brights, or change as the seasons go. There's my 2 cents👍🏼😉
Little Green: Salix or Windmill Lane might be nice. Also, add moulding around the edges of the feature wall to ensure the wallpaper doesn’t detach faster over the course of time
I watch 12 Chateau renovations and on two of the vlogs the owners chose to KEEP THE WALL HANGING WATER FEATURE..one put a "live green plant" in it as a decor feature. I saw one of these tiny high back porcelain sinks in the toilet room ..... unless you plan to use it or what it was used originally, I thought to suggest this based on two other DIY chateau owners did....LOVE THOSE DOORS !!!
The bedroom will be lovely , im happy you are leaving the accent wall in that beautiful wallpaper. I would be inclined to go with a color similar to Benjamin moore's Grey mist...a soft greige tone off white which may compliment the wallpapers background then maybe a color similar to white dove by BM for door and baseboard for an elegant calmness. Picking color is so hard i agree but doing big swatches and sitting with them for a day or two in different light helps eliminate the good bad and ugly. I cant wait to see your decision, as you both have great taste so it will be lovely no matter the choices made. Happy renoing.
Hi Sara and Steve, the front door is going to so beautiful. For the bedroom, I really don't like two toned doors, I think the sage color will look nice with the bit of wallpaper that is left. but you both are so artistic, and talented, I am sure whatever you decide will be beautiful. Happy St David's day. Love from N.Y.
I think, I would paint the door in the same grey from the tapestry, I think it would be good, if the grey would appear a second time in this room, so you would be kind of free in the colours of the furniture and even the wall colour. A solid solution kind of, and I think this middle dark grey is very nice for the door… Looking forward for what you choose! :)
No yellow or purple. Try a neutral palette. Wall match background of wallpaper. Introduce splash of colour in curtains and bed linens, toiles (red and blue) or use the palette of red and blue toiles to choose the curtain and bed linen colours.
I love the panels in the front doors! Far less of a fan of bright yellow (or bright anything) for the toile room, unless it's a darker tone like what Michael Pethrick is using currently. I think that paper needs a color with a darker base.
Love the fittings in your entry door. That will be spectacular when completed! Dare I say, pick the bedding for that bedroom then pick a complementary colour from the bedding to match the wallpaper. Bedrooms should be calming and quiet…as you well know. You did ask…. 🥰👍
The doors look magnificent well done. Makes for a beautiful entrance cant wait to see them finished. The toile wall paper is elegant but i just can't see it with yellow walls. To me it would be too bright and busy. As it's a bedroom maybe stick to the more bland but restful background colour of the wallpaper. Colour can be added with curtains bed linen etc. Just my thoughts but Steve's the artist and works well with colours maybe there's something else in the pallet🤔 With Sara's needlework skills I'm sure the room will be a beautiful restful area soon. Good luck folks...we're all chipping in but in the end it's your home and you know what works best xx
Personally, I wouldn’t paint the walls any other color but the “cream” background of the wallpaper and then go with a grey for the trim. With only one window and then your furniture and wall hangings, the “cream” may help keep the room brighter.
agree.. or stone if that matches it better.
I cannot understand the yellow.. but then again we are viewing it on screens and not in person.
Skip the YELLOW! Light wall , the rest gray.
Skip the yellow. We just got rid of the yellow walls we had & it’s 100% improved. I can’t see it with that wallpaper. It is YOUR place though in the end & everyone has different tastes.
Yes! All of this! We love that people have different opinions, and share them! And respect others views! You make it look so easy! 😊😊

I agree too, and definitely not yellow!
Agree. Definitely not yellow. Keep it classy. ❤
Agree with Bonnie.
Yes, sage green could be lovely with the wallpaper. I'd say leave the doors plain. Needs to be calm & not busy for a bedroom. Just a gentle flow.
Yes
I agree with the green, what about the aqua of your logo?
grayish green [sage]
Sage green a gentle choice
Agree with sage green. It will give the gray toile wallpaper some life. I had a black and off-white toile comforter with a checkered dust ruffle, and adding a couple seafoam green throw pillows brought some subtle color to the room. Maybe I missed this in the video, but what fabrics are you using for the bed and curtains?
I suggest the palest shade of creamy pink with the gray toile or the ivory shade
Pink is a good colour for grey. The right shade of dusty pink could be lovely. Think of galahs (one of Australia's many types of parrots).
Me too !
Lovely sage green perhaps?
For the grey toile room I would choose a sage green colour for the walls. I think yellow is too stark for a bedroom

Gray green no yellow
I agree with matching the background of the wallpaper. Use grey for the wood trim and doors. Go with a neutral bedding but add the pop of pale yellow in a throw pillow or sheets. Add a pale yellow vase, etc. Let the yellow be a subtle accent color and not a saturated contrast in the walls.
Warm pink with the grey toile paper with creamy beige (to match the background of the paper) for the doors and trim moulding
The front doors are beautiful! When they're all painted, they will be stunning! And quite the welcome to your chateau!
I loved the warm greyish lavender, no to yellow! Gorgeous meadow/hillside.
Looks fantastic and facing each other is perfect. Repeat of gallery border in top would be unifying. No yellow!!!!! Go ivory like the background of wallpaper!!!!!!
what a treat to see your forest with the daffodiles, stunning!
That work on your front door is IN-CRED-IBLE 🎉❤🎉 - & a new business idea there me thinks !!
I find picking a color palate that is already coordinated allows for a nice flow . It has various shades and complimentary colors. Love the cut outs for the front door and the daffodils forest. St. David Cathedral is gorgeous and love the music accompanying the tour ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I love your obsession with the old sewing machines!! You could refurbish 5 or 6 and then run a Singer Sewing weekend!!

Use the same color as the background . Lite gray for the doors and windows . Very lite gray . If you want yelllow have some in the gray.
Your doors will be just stunning what a great idea god bless you both
So happy to see a follow-up on the entrance doors!!
The window panels look fantastic. This was such a great idea and immediately introduces the style period for the building.
No yellow. The trim gray, the door gray with white or pale blue with white. The room could be a cool gray tone with a blue hint.
The cathedral is beautiful! I'm not sure about the yellow, but Steve is the artist and it is your home!
This colour is known to mess up sleep since it tricks the brain into thinking it is daytime or time to be awake.29 Sept 2023"
Might be worth thinking about. 🥰🤗☺
The panels are beautiful!!
Steve, the field of daffodils would make a beautiful painting.
WOW, the daffodils are plentiful and beautiful!
I would paint the walls in the bedroom the same as the background of the toile to keep the room light and bright, but bring the color in though fabrics and accessories. The woodwork can then alternate the gray and cream from the toile.
The front door: 👌 so beautiful! Great idea! 💪
I am so jealous of your daffodils !! Green grass!! We had 33 cm of snow on Saturday… still digging here in West Central Saskatchewan !!
Beautiful cathedral. I never get tired of looking at it. What made my St. David’s Day this year was that we had our first snowfall this year in my little village. Magical! ❤
I was really impressed with St Davids - probably wouldnt have visited it without my Welsh family... glad we did.
The daffodil field was gorgeous!! Your mix of decorating, nature and architecture this video was very interesting. Enjoyed every minute. I'll stop commenting now! lol
Lol - we love the comments! Comment away!
Decorating with yellow and grey home decor
The color wheel points to purple as yellow's complementary color, and adding touches of purple will create a striking look. Mix grey and yellow with orange or green, yellow's two neighboring colors, for a warm, earthy feeling in your space.
Light Dusty Rose or pink goes so well with gray!
Oh, I like the idea of stylised sunrise. And yes, we'd probably do everything in an oceany tone if we could get away with it :)
Not a fan of the yellow for the bedroom. I would think a gray paint would go much better with the wallpaper. You can always do color asessories 😊
I think a soft sage green would be lovely or a lovely vintage rose colour ,definitely not yellow …😏 the door looks awesome 🤩
I liked the ideas of sage green or very light pink paint with the one toile wallpapered wall. It also depends on what bed coverings and curtains you will use, then complement the wall paint with the material.
Farrow & Ball Blackened is a great white with hint of gray, which might work well for the woodwork in that bedroom.
Xx
Blue goes well with gray and it is calming
I saw one of these tiny high back porcelain sinks in the toilet room ..... unless you plan to use it or what it was used originally, I thought to suggest this based on two other DIY chateau owners did....LOVE THOSE DOORS !!!
yes! The tapestry pattern over the top, no-brainer :)
Just can’t seem to make sense of the grey toile and yellow together.
Cut outs are so elegant! Nice job Steve!
I think, I would paint the door in the same grey from the tapestry, I think it would be good, if the grey would appear a second time in this room, so you would be kind of free in the colours of the furniture and even the wall colour. A solid solution kind of, and I think this middle dark grey is very nice for the door…
Looking forward for what you choose! :)
New panels in the door look amazing, agree to do the top as well. Wow !!
Absolutely fantastic door's 😍,it was a lovely walk through the forest and to see the daffodils in bloom, Take care and see you soon 💕🌼🤗
Darker lilac or a sageish green for paint. Also, the door is stunning, and I can not wait to see it painted.
Love the fittings in your entry door. That will be spectacular when completed! Dare I say, pick the bedding for that bedroom then pick a complementary colour from the bedding to match the wallpaper. Bedrooms should be calming and quiet…as you well know. You did ask…. 🥰👍
I think a “peachy pink” would look lovely with the wall and a nice grey for the wood work! I can just visualize a lovely inviting space!🥰🇨🇦
Just my thoughts but Steve's the artist and works well with colours maybe there's something else in the pallet🤔
With Sara's needlework skills I'm sure the room will be a beautiful restful area soon.
Good luck folks...we're all chipping in but in the end it's your home and you know what works best xx
YES! His is the way to go!
This…..is the way to go!
