Who is the female vocalist from the 20's known for singing this song? She had a somewhat negative reputation, and I can hear her singing it, but I just can't think of her name. It's driving me crazy! :^D 🎺 IK
@jazzbo11 Thank you SO MUCH! I've been trying to remember her name and search and listen to her songs, but I could not. Again, many, many thanks!!! :^D IK
Libby Holman. She was a wild child of the late 1920's. She married into the R.J. Reynolds tobacco family in the early 1930's. It did'nt work out, her husband (Reynolds) shot hisself. Libby Holman was tried for his death but acquitted. She had a career afterwards. The M.G.M. picture "Reckless" with Jean Harlow from 1935 is a biopic loosely based on the incident.

I think you might be thinking of Libby Holman who recorded this song in 1929. I believe she had a bit of a reputation according to what I have read.
