  • Terry-Ann Hartshaw was an Australian contortionist active through the 80s and potentially early 90s (little evidence available). Popularly, she used the mononym "Terry-Ann" as her performing name, though this wasn't adhered to strictly throughout all publicized appearances. Little is known about her origins and full body of work, so the posting of this video will serve as the first stepping stone for further research and rediscovery of Terry-Ann's fantastic abilities for a modern fan of contortion.
In Sweet and Sour, Terry plays the part of an un-named contortionist brought on by one of the protagonists (part of a band) to feature in an amateur music video. Though the character she portrays is used more or less as a purely visual role and the subject of a few lewd implications (A popular use of contortionists in television from this era), one can't help but smile at Hartshaw's switching between incredible "old-school" (30s-50s acro style) contortion and a really unfiltered and down to earth delivery of her lines that would have no doubt propelled her to huge levels of internet popularity had she been a 21st century performer in this (2021) day and age.

That's an impressively small platform for her to work off of in the beginning there.
