  • School holidays have ended, British summer weather has arrived and we visit Burns Farm campsite in the Lake District with a plan to explore but, the heatwave forced us to relax by our van, drink beer, cook food over the camp fire and soak in the mountain views whilst watching the sun set!
The location, nor doing nothing all weekend was what we had planned but, sometimes things just work out for the better as long as you remember to make the most of the current situation and enjoy it.
This campsite is in the North of the national Park next to the A66, between Keswick and Threlkeld and has 360 views of Lakeland fells.
You're allowed raised fire pits or, you can rent one and buy logs from the campsite.
We took our Kadai travel fire bowl as you can use it as a fire pit or a BBQ.
Plenty of beer, sun, relaxation and more importantly, mental wellbeing.
If anyone has a Glawning bell tent type awning, let us know what your honest thoughts are.
