been going to thailand for 30 years and i have to say there has never been a problem with being gay or the ladyboys being accepted, everyone lives happily together. the rainbow flags and pride i see as a western political weapon since it was hijacked. i laugh with friends about the trans idea as ladyboys were around and accepted before the word trans was even thought of. the word kateoy (lady boy) will not be replaced i hope

I prefer the Paradise Complex in Patong Phuket gay scene. It's not as big as Pattaya but it's a lot of fun and Phuket is beautiful.

This is not the only "gay mecca" if you will in Thailand. Aside from Bangkok & Pattaya, there is also Phuket, Issan, Chiang Mai, a lot of gay places.
