LSV: Today we're drafting cube the hard way, locking into our first two picks and basically forcing storm. Ben S (probably): Umm... *glares* LSV: Yeah, actually that's not drafting the hard way at all. It's just the bad way, but I do love High Tide decks. Made my night.
@@MoronicChunk1 well yeah, it's more of a time problem really. But prices are stupid. And new editions are coming out so fast now, can't really keep up. @@GorillaRadio88 I mean sucks is a big word. In terms of powerlevel, it's good once it's going, but using the same spells and casting Yaw Will is better and easier. I think why people don't value the card high is because of 6 mana cost and blue/red. It's vintage after all.. It's too slow. He resolved it once and sure opponent didn't do anything so it was sweet but he won without it just as easy so..
@@notorioezz I think the using the same spells point is really key. Not only is yawg will cheaper, but you have both your graveyard and library to play from. Play thousand year storm and probably have access to 4ish spells in your hand vs. yawg will, where you have the spells in you hand, that first turn ponder, replaying duress, lotus, lions eye. It feels like when you play a yawg will with a stocked graveyard it's just over-plus it just absolutely breaks lotus effects, letting them add 6 mana and 2 storm count in a turn.
This might be one of the greatest, if not the greatest LSV cube draft video of all time. The only one that comes close in my opinion is his 30-minute mono green speedrun.
It's definitely up there with the greats, like the no-wincon "if you 3-0 this draft you get to draft again before recording LR" deck. But they're good videos for very different reasons. :D
Lsv really love your playstyle & pace and this deck was just a piece of art! *Chef's kiss👌 Big laughs in the last game, easily the best CFB content seeing you rock the V-cube:)
what a legendary performance for LSV!!!!!!!!! thx a lot for having this kind of game for those who love COMBO!!!!! this is a master piece for us that love the game!! just........ thank you!!!
Against the smokestacks does it not make sense to clone your own glen rather than rumanap? Then you can sac it and island, it persists and then you get a 1/2 rumanap and still have 2 glen activations / sacrifices
I've thought about it some, and I decided that I preferred "not perfect" play over tanking forever to figure out the exact perfect line. This was great, hilarious, etc.
As long as you still had mana drain in your deck, casting cantrips was fine in the last game. You just counter all the extra ones with a massive stack of time spirals underneath. Source: I did this to someone in a game where I used Venser to return my time spiral to my hand so it wouldn't exile itself, used Ancestral Recall to draw my whole deck, bounced the original Ancestral, then cast it targeting them for lethal. With a stack of lethal ancestrals and about five more Time Spirals.
this was such an absolute blast. I love storm in vintage cube but thousand year storm is one of my favorite cards ever. Only way it could hav ebeen better was if you had expansion // explosion to really hit them with all the mana you got!
cracking Memory Jar (on your turn) doesn't need Narset, it's not brutal cuz they'll get their cards back. but Time Spiral brutalizes the opponent under a Narset, ditto Timetwister.
Thank you match 3 OP. That was beautiful.
Yup, OP delivered.
An all time classic. Especially the DIY grapeshot at the end lmao.
This feels like a callback to that one time LSV drafted Storm and deliberately left Tendrils in the sideboard to make a point.
Lol i was thinking the same thing
I LOVED that draft
That was one for the ages
Link anyone?
link?
It's amazing how an LSV vintage cube video is one of the few things that causes me to drop everything and just watch.

I don't even play magic anymore, I still come to see and like LSV videos!
same
Can't really blame you for not playing anymore with the prices of your average deck getting as out of control as it is.

Games like these just show how good a player he is. I can't draft & play these kind of decks, I just don't see the play patterns.
@Rob it would be a completely different universe.
Winning after taking consecutive turns under a 2-counter smokestack was the most insane game I've ever seen.
One of the coolest vintage cube drafts I’ve ever watched
THIS IS WHAT THE INTERNET WAS MADE FOR
Lsv drafting storm in cube? Thats just what the doctor ordered.
omg, the moment he gets high tide after forcing the archetype all draft is just GG godlike. The plays in this deck!
That ending was literal fire! Ha.
This was flawless. Best storm deck I've seen on cube so far. Beautiful.. ✨👌💯

This might be the best LSV video of all time
“I can take Palinchron to go with Time Spiral - High Tide.” - Doesn’t have High Tide 😂

no high tide until pick 3 pack 3.
Everyone: Thousand Year Storm sucks. Overrated.
LSV: Yesn't
I have lost to that card so many times in vintage cube. I didn’t know people thought it sucked.

That deck was insane oh my word lol this one was definitely on par with the busted mono black deck you drafted a while back wowzers
there were So Many Insane Plays, as it were.
I somehow missed this one when it was uploaded. So glad I found it, easily LSV's best storm draft ever!
I’ve watched a thousand LSV videos over the years but this one’s my favorite!
That last game was peak ridiculousness! Loved it!
One of the greatest cube drafts ive ever seen. Awesome
Yes It feels like I've been waiting for years
Your islands tapping for 13 mana is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen
You should try and play a Sasaya commander deck. Tapping a forest for 30 mana is pretty nice.
ikr
felt like a Cloudpost deck.
This is the high octane cube content we’ve all been waiting for
I have watched hundreds of hours of cube drafting, this is the best one I've ever seen. Amazing video!
“Gleninald” makes me laugh every time
Watching him play is always a treat. He is just such a good player.
I had to go back into the archives, but i finally found this masterpiece. Lsv please do more high tide decks in cube!!!
Sweet Fancy Moses! What sort of incredible nonsense was I just mesmerized by?
More Lsv vintage cube videos needed. Favorite person to watch cube
This and the recurring nightmare deck with oko LSV drafted are my all time favorite cube decks and exemplify everything I love about cube.
Jesus! What a sick Deck! Lsv is an Artist and a Master of Magic!
Been waiting to for an LSV Vintage Cube Video. Thanks!
That was maybe my favorite draft you’ve ever done. So much fun!

good point. and iiuc, it could even reclone Ranumap after persisting anyways.
Game 3 was some quality content. Hats off to opponent for being a good sport and letting LSV pop off!
Wow..! A thing of beauty this one. Thanks!
LSV's tick of humming during every lull is pretty intense this draft
So cool they’re doing vintage cube draft in tournaments
