It's actually a good thing to see in newer tanks, bacterial growth is good most of the time
This is me right now 😅bigger tank and new fish water was clear for 2 days now it’s all foggy I’m glad I seen your video now I’m a little relieved thanks 🙏

Patience is a must in this hobby.
Let nature take its course.
I would also cut out any plant ferts with nitrate or phosphate
Agreed! Not using any of that. Just Excel for the Co2 benefit and Equilibrium for Hardness. I'm thinking I have to dial down the excel a bit. Less lighting too. Thanks for the advice though 👍
I didn't know that hahaha, now my tank is slightly cloudy, prolly I'd just dose micros at half the strength or is that bad too
Bro, seeing YOU go through BB makes the little guys like us feel so much better.... I'm trusting and following your guidelines. I'm about two weeks in currently.
Thank you so much for your advice. I’ve learned EVERYTHING from you and your videos.

I had that problem when i upgrade to a bigger tank for my fish. Discovered you and your channel...learned alot! Havent had any problem since. I do remember you saying youve got to be patient with bacterial blooms. What would we do without you Kev??? 😊❤❤
LOL, Glad I was able to help with that! And I'm glad I'm going through it now to show everyone that it happens to everyone 😊😁
I setup tank 2 weeks already, sand base, have 2 canister of good flow than needed for tank. Tank is cloudy just want to know how long it will take to clear the cloudy as i dont see much different since last 2 weeks
Thanks for the info 👍

My tank is around 4 months old and has had an algae bloom since about day 3. I've waited, tested, tried all the tricks from your other videos, and the water is still so green that I can only see my fish if they are against the glass. My water tests perfect and the fish are thriving. I'd love to see them. I'm very close to taking them out, dumping everything, scrubbing it clean, and starting over.
Algae growth is due to excess light and excess nutrients in the water. You either have 1 or both. Natural light from windows counts too.
My book on getting crystal-clear water can definitely help! 😁 It's short, to the point, and covers all the causes and solutions for cloudy water. Comes in eBook and Paperback. I promise you won't be disappointed! Check it out here - bit.ly/clearH2O
My advice: use some Acurel-F and it will clear up that cloudiness a lot faster.

EHEIM FILTER, SO FAR SO GOOD.
I just set up a new 55 gallon tank for 3 goldfish . I came last night to find my tank so cloudy, I felt my fish were gasping for air so I transferred them back into their old tank , now I’m sitting here trying to figure out what went wrong ? The tank itself is not new , someone was throwing out their entire system, I’m guessing the filter broke because that was there with it and it didn’t work so , I bought everything new . New filter , new hoses . The water seems a little warm and that did worry me but I don’t know what to do to make it cold ? Then my new tank is by a window could make it warm ? There is no direct sunlight. Covered patio outside . Please advise, I’m watching all these videos. First time learning about this bloom . I do have plants in the tank as well . I transferred them from my other tank . The plants are not as new as the tank . I started with live plants about two months-ago . How long should I wait before I put the fish back in ?
This is me right now! An absolute noob, had a hand me down tank, new fishes! Water I cloudy, changed my filters did 25% water change and still cloudy! I was starting to get worried, until the experts at my local shop said it’s normal for a 4 week old tank! Whew!!

I heard someone squeezing a est sponge filter in the new tank and it cleared up pretty fast. Ive never tried it but it made sense !
Thats a myth. Bacteria doesn't squeeze out of a sponge filter. It's attached to the filters surfaces. Squeezing dirty water into another tank just adds dirty water. What you want to do is add that entire sponge filter to the new tank 😊
@KaveMan Aquatics really?! I sort of knew it was! I got this info from Luke's Goldies yt. I def wont be doing it! You the man!
I use Acurel F immediately after my weekly water change just to give the 2 seachem tidal 110s on my 55g denison barb and praecox rainbows tank. I also have 3 angelfish, 2 different loaches, 6 corys and want more...just to give a kick start
I put sand into my turtle tank and the water is cloudy is it safe for me to put him in? Or do I have to wait for it to clear up
Watching this as my freshly cycled tank just went cloudy after 2 weeks of being clear. Also having some green algae too. Any tips on fighting algae
So I just started a new 10 gallon tank yesterday and added Seachem Prime and Seachem Stability tank yesterday. All substrate was rinses very well prior to adding water. A log (boiled and then sat in a pot for 2 days getting saturated and discoloration out). Last night and this morning the tank was crystal clear, tonight it’s cloudy. Do I just do nothing? Do I take some water out and do a partial water change? I read for the first week or so I should take out water and replace and then slowly minimize how often I do that.
I have a question that no one could properly answer to me,too much answers and nothing simple🤷♀️; Is the Fluval FX4 too much for a 75G/270L African Cichlid tank?
No lie Kev. I am setting up a 180 myself and just dealt with this. I learned that aquascaping with dragon rock is very tricky. Ended up making tank cloudy cause I was messing with rocks too much.
I had it happen to me last year when I moved from my 30 to the 53. But the fish were also gasping at the surface so I dragged out my old air pump and got it going thinking that was the culprit even though two canister filters were running and agitating the surface.
I have done all that you have shown on your videos. My tank has been redone, there are no fish I'm using the apart actually, for my freshwater fish. It's still cloudy. What can I do? Help, I'm a veteran and I'm retired. And I'm trying to learn I need to take care of my fish.
UV filtration, problem solved, no chemicals required, and they are fairly cheap. Couple hours and it would look like glass.
I havent ever used UV on any of my tanks and theyre always crystal clear. This is a natural temporary cloud issue 😊
@@KaveManAquatics I never see these clouds anymore, for any reason, and I don't need to rely on chemicals.
@@Awsimilate I don’t rely on any chemicals or UV and still have crystal clear water. Neither one is necessary in a freshwater tank. But if you like your UV, keep using it 👍
Should i change filter and do regular cleaning every 2 weeks even with a bacterial bloom? Or should i not change or touch anything at all
Hey bud. Has the water become clear already? I am facing this issue now and gonna listen to you and wait it out.
It is finally starting to clear up. 😁 I posted a story here and on IG a few days ago. A few more days and I should be crystal clear 😁
@@KaveManAquatics that’s great! Thanks man, your channel helps me a lot. I had a similar issue and listened to you. It worked!!
Been one week till the bloom had started. Still cloudy but it’s even worse, it’s completely milky. It’s cycling, but most people got it away in some days, mine is getting worse as I advance in the cycling…
It can happen, Your source water is not the same as others. be patient and give it time 😊
@@KaveManAquatics thanks, I should have made a no food cycle. I think I put too much waste for heterotrophic (planted + food), I also had 3 young given guppies in to produce some waste at the start of the cycling. I don’t think I have ammonia yet due to blooming.
How many days will it take to clear out
I'm having algae blooms in a existing tank. I'm not sure what happened. My tank was crystal clear for months. It's been up for about 6 months. About a month ago I started noticing the water starting to tint and every day it's just darker and worse. I've done almost everything. I've reduced feeding to a pinch every other day, dosing stability, I'm using algaefix, ive added live plants, I even covered my tank with towels for a week so it got no light and did water changes every 3 days. That made the water look a little better until I went back to weekly water changes but after 7 days i can barely see my fish. I'm getting a UV green killing machine tomorrow. Hopefully that works.
will the cloudy ness of its really bad effect the fish im getting them tomorrow and tank max cloudy
Hey man, I’ve just set up a new tank, it started to cloud before I added my bacteria in a bottle. Then cleared, I then added 2 little orange oranda goldfish, and it’s starting to become quite murky, how long do I wait until it clears? I’m worried I may have to do a water change, (put them in last night, woke up this morning to cloudyness that’s progressed throughout the day. Thanks for the help bud 😊
Yo should I add any water clarity solutions they sell in fish stores
You can for a short term solution. They do work. But the heart of the reason for cloudy water will still be there and need to addressed eventually.
Hey boss...I set a 150, and didn't put any fish until after 8days , started clear , then went to bloom, now it's been a month or so looks better but not clear ..I have 5 fish , they are doing well , what gives ?? Any suggestions boss
How long do you add the prime and stability for?
Continue dosing until your tank has completed the cycle. This video will be helpful - ua-cam.com/video/_Fvl_KOoDPU/v-deo.html
@@KaveManAquaticsthx. I have a freshwater tank with just neon tetras, zebras etc in it and it was crystal clear and then a few weeks ago started looking cloudy and I tested the water and ammonia was through the roof. (I do water changes monthly like 25-30% 55gal tank). I did a few water changes didn’t help so then I started adding prime and stability three days ago. Ammonia is almost gone. I should just keep adding the prime and stability and not do any more water changes right?
What filter would you recommend for a75 gallon tank
@@mrzameer6197 ok thanks I have an external filter I was going to put an internal one in for extra airation
Hi ! My bettas tank is white cloudy water,I changed the water and washed the tank but still the new water look the same! Turned off the light and still white cloudy.why? Its started few days ago…. Cabe why, why?
😮
I just did a 25% water changed as of yesterday which my tank in pretty new only a few weeks old. Ever sense I added the water it’s been a little cloudy, now when I am getting the water to temp in the house the warm water seems to be cloudy when mixing it with the cold water, my tank also has never had ammonia, nitrates or nitrites and I’m not to sure why that’s happening

I have fish in the tank and they’re doing very well eating pooping and being active all day long. I’ve added both of those you ingested in your video after the water Change just not sure what I’m doing wrong
Doesn’t always clear up had to do water change and chemicals to get mine to clear up
Mines not clearing to clear

I have a question off topic!!!
So, I just started this “hobby” recently (about 8-10 weeks ago) completely by accident (bought a tank and fish for my 5yo thinking “no biggie, fish are easy” lol ) and I’ve learned A LOT over this short amount of time, but still have A TON to learn.
So, long story short, I’ve managed to kill-off ALL of my guppies (probably close to 7, possibly more), except for one, due to fin/tail rot. I seem to have found what has worked and managed to keep this one alive, and his tail is slowly growing back.
But my question is, how long do I keep him separated from the clean tank after the round of meds that seem to be working? I started out with API Fin & Body Cure, and that didn’t work for ANY of my guppies. So, with this little guy, I moved on to Melafix and by the next day more of his tail had fallen off. So, I found Seachem PolyGuard and I’m pretty sure that’s what has been working. He’s on the 2nd 3-day cycle of the “Up to 2 weeks or until symptoms disappear.”
ANY help is greatly appreciated 😊
Have you made your guppy a quarantine tank? What are your water parameters?
What food do you give them?
@@sankarkumar9702
So, I apologize for my life story in advance (long response) and I appreciate ANY help/advice that you or anyone else might have!!
Yes to quarantine tank. It’s a 10 gallon (my clean tank is a 20g). Parameters are stable and were for the previous 2 or 3 guppies. In my 20g I have 3 glofish, 3 neon terra, 2 loaches and a platinum guppy (?? he’s all white and he doesn’t have a fancy tail).
When I bought the tank and first batch of fish NO ONE told me that I needed chemicals so all but the loach died. After my second batch slowly started dying off (still not knowing about chemicals) I did tons of research. I finally got all of the chemicals/test strips/etc and slowly started introducing the new fish. The guppies died again and I was introduced to the heater. That seemed to help a lot, along with the proper chemicals so I introduced the white guppy & 2 fancy tails. Our fancy guppies started getting the tail rot so I quarantined all of the fish including the loach and used the API Fin & Body Cure. The guppies weren’t showing signs of improving, but the other fish weren’t showing signs of anything at all so I moved the healthy fish back to the clean tank and haven’t had any issues with them or the tank since. I did dump the rocks and got new ones and sanitized every inch of the tank, filter, supplies, decorations, etc before placing the fish back into the clean tank.
Eventually I noticed that one of the loaches had 2 white spots on his head and wasn’t really looking like the brand new healthy one I had recently purchased, and from what I researched it sounded and looked like “hole in the head” and assumed that my guppies had been getting sick from him, but the people I spoke to said that loaches don’t really get that disease and that it was likely he’d just bumped his head on something and that guppies are usually a hit and miss and it depends on where you get them from, they also explained that the fancy tails became that way because of inbreeding and that genetics could be playing a role in why they’ve all died.
I do know that since the API Fin and Body Cure wasn’t working on the guppy (it worked on the loach after about 2 full rounds) if I was going to save him I had to try something else, and Melafix kept popping up (& Blue Planet Tri-Sulfa but that’s only in Australia lol), so I grabbed the Melafix. It made our guppy perk up and become more active, but the next morning, even though he was still active, I literally watched as another small part of his tail fell off. So I freaked out and ran to a local fish store (& not the chain store where I got all my fish from) and the guy gave me the Seachem PolyGuard.
He’s been on Seachem for a total of 5 days now and His tail is slowly starting to come back, but…now I can’t tell if it was the Melafix or the Seachem that helped him or if it was both. And if it is the Seachem, do I need to keep medicating (and breaking for a week after each full round) until his tail grows all the way back, will it grow back on its own without the meds after a full round, when do I place him in the clean tank? Do I clean/sanitizer his tank after a round of meds, keep him quarantined and introduce a new friend so he’s not so lonely and so the new friend gets a dose of meds before going into the clean tank?
I have so many questions that I can’t seem to find answers for on the Internet, but I’ve found A LOT of helpful info from @KaveMan_aquatics so I thought I’d ask and see if I can get answers to some, if not all, of my questions lol
Sorry for the delayed response
If you are able to see some transparent like or transcluscent tissue growth on the ends then it probably will grow back,if not, then please continue medicine finding out which one did the job(melafix or polyguard) in not easy but necessary to find out as giving too much medicine is harmful too. Which food do you give? Do you give live food/freeze dried food?
If not,try feeding them occasionally that might boost the fin growth I have a betta that got fin rot and after doing these precautions I was able to heal him and betta fix that I was using initially had some harmful essential oils in it no idea about melafix will recommend joining a fish forum or fish related subreddit as that helps a lot. Many nice people over there helped me heal my betta
Happy fishkeeping!
This is “cycle”
I was having this issue and this short came up when I was ready to cry. My tank cleared this morning and I can’t stop looking at it. I think I just needed to hear this and it was right on time
Upload more bro plzzzz
Don't panic just run over to your old tank and take the sponges and squeeze em out in there
Thats a myth. Bacteria live on the sponge not in the water. You're just squeezing dirty water into your tank. Better method is to place the media itself or the entire filter on the new tank. I have plenty of videos on this process. But I'm cycling with Prime and Stability to show that it can be done when you're a beginner and dont have any other tanks or seeded media available.
