Synopsis:

He was unworthy of her love and purness...
The last betrayal he accomplished was the one that left her completely torn:
She believed he was different, she believed he was the man she fell long before but he was just a man... and not one among the most righteous.
Here, finally, the way he behaved and all the pain he caused her hit him with Ferocious strength.
The fact someone with his social status kneels in front of someone whose lower, hits different: a noble would never kneel if not in front of a superior in rank.
He, finally, feel ashamed, helpless in front of what he did to her and tries to make up opening to her, telling about his past and his emotions... but she's not that naive girl who looked at him with love anymore. She's so broke... like that mirror he tries to replace with a new one, but broken trust and love are hard to replace with brand new ones 😢
On a gods viewpoint, you also have to look at where he is coming from? Never knew who to trust, tested by the father countless times, how can he trust maid Gu with unknown origins, she was too sketchy, his own dad put him through hell. Does he even know how to love? She was this sticky thing clinging to him and he thought breaking her would expose who she really is.
Palaces strike me as snake pits. Defend or be bitten and die. His own wife was killed by his step mom. His step mom then got promoted to queen. What must that do to oneself? Then maid gu with unknown origin got his own wife to kneel at her feet and protect her at her deathbed. But he is still suspicious, of course
He is damaged through and through. Even if maid Gu is nice she could be the most dangerous person. The queen was by her dads side and acted nice in dads face. So what can he do, do you think trust is natural with his type of upbringing?
@tarrysmile I didn't got into this trust issue: I think the fact she had hope till the end (almost the end, at least) and the fact she stayed by his side and saved him, was not only part of her plan but was because she understood what he was put through (the Palace, the father, the rest...). She was not a weak person, she could have chosen not to forgive him (which I could totally understand).
His weakness about not even giving justice to her family to protect his FIL and wife, that was, to me, the real betrayal, the thing she suffered the most 🙄 together with the final step: the moment he completely sold her out after asking her to do what she did... he could have planned anything else, he got the power to do it, but chose to get closer to her, trick and betray her. At that point, she decided to turn the table and gave him his medicine back
@@sabri16 i like the way she played him too. She would have been killed if she didnt see the move ahead. Yes you are right she always gave him chances or benefit 9f doubt as understood his plight.
In this drama, i can see why he would justify sacrificicng her. Imo his moves are testimony to his "survival mode". He already has a losing hand. He even told his father he started the nursery rhyme ( he just knew to take the blame 😭).
despite saying to FIL i will help you walk away from your charges ( whilst framing the FL if it goes wrong to be the one who wrote the letter) , the FIL had already agreed with the prince to form a marriage alliance. This guy was just never going to make it, i felt his plight was walking in a dark room to find the door and its never there. I justified it all until...
The FL says to him stay clean evenif you have scars. It did made me think maybe he could have done better. But when you have been hit so much the temptation to just take easy way out is plausible

i watched this whole drama s1 and s2 and i have to say it was an exhausting roller coaster .. these kind of dramas can only command the best of actors ..Lou Jin and Li Yitong were absolutely outstanding.. definitely not for the younger viewer or faint hearted .. this sort of drama was right up my street ..every actor was amazing to watch .. brilliant stuff ..

I agree 100% with your comment. I’ve watched again 3 times and still marveled at their outstanding acting of both FL & ML. I struggled with them, I felt emotionally drained with all the abuse they both were subjected to, but most of all, the love they shared in the treacherous palace environment. After investing so much emotions with them, I just wished a happy ending and you would feel “redeemed” by all the hardships they had gone through. Alas, the writers had other ideas and managed to ruin it for me.

They are good actors but the director deserves most of the credit in this drama, I watched Lou Jin on many dramas, prior and after this one, this is by far his best roll.
A good director can get the best out an actor, this is the work of an excellent director.

This is the true definition of "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." You Go Maid Gu! Give them Hell! Even though you may love someone they may be too toxic for you. This dude has done too much damage to turn her heart. He is just like his father.
This actor does seem to play a lot of manipulative controlling men in several dramas…
@stephanien6237 Yes, he does. I couldn't watch the full drama that he had starred in with Tiffany Tang (his now wife) Princess Weiwei. He didn't torture his beloved FL, but he also married a scheming chick, and the FL was forced to help with the wedding procession and slso be a maid who was mistreated and tortured too. He sent her for torture and later told her it was for her own good cause they would have killed her. Yeah, I couldn't watch too much of that, and now that I think if it, both were very similar, but the other had a happier (bittersweet) ending. You really want to hate him for what the FLs go through.
So nice to see a FL that doesn't just forgive all the crap the ML puts her through and get back together. Go girl! He made you suffer, he deserves what he gets

I loved this drama. It was sad but you have to remember he didn’t know she was the woman he loved. Everything he did was to get revenge for the people he loved but it was a very drawn out plan and she was collateral damage. The ending was confusing so they did a second one.
This is one of the most heart breaking dramas that I have ever seen, will never rewatch, I cried for a while after watching this drama. It's very intense and very amazing acting on both parts.
Can't help thinking after all the torture he did to her, when he asks her: "can I touch you?", why did she allow him to peacefully comb her hair, and remained in silent? He was a cold son of a ...bi***
The acting in this drama was first rate. The story was cruel and toxic, but wow it was excellent.

This drama is excellent. The two main leads' performances are superb. I don't understand the intense dislike if not hatred some people have expressed for the Prince.

@@Elena_229 смотрел, тяжёлый фильм. Защищать стал уже потом, когда наконец то дошло, что ближе в его жизни никого нет.И сам смысл фильма тяжёлый - "счастливы будете только после смерти"
дело в том, что зрители считают, что любовь превыше всего..в наше светлое и безмятежное время так и есть. но не тогда. любовь имела мизерную эгоистичную важность..личностный комфорт и счастье нельзя было ставить в основу..тем более таких значимых персон..стоит также учесть что этот персонаж был ментально разрушен и травмирован с детства..слишком большие цели и слишком опасный путь..

Но она обломила его, так обломила, когда взяла вину на себя. Она отринула его защиту. Если её бы убили, то он обязан был бы выполнить то что обещал, наказать виновных. Ценой своей жизни и его она вытащила бы правду, хотя бы ради спокойной жизни брата младшего

If it is true that women live longer, then I hope several of them are survivors and at the end they will live at peace.
It’s sad ending because the crown prince suicided. All those happened I blamed on the emperor the king father. He was such a jerk with all protection toward the oldest prince. The crown prince did not have his confidence at all. Poor girl Lu was sacrificed a lot for her love & her family

Я смотрела по отрывкам совсем не много. Но поняла, что он сделал много зла. Унижал, пытал. Но она всё молчала, или о чём то умоляла. Я бы не стала бы просить его. Как я понимаю, она им отомстила. Даже принцу. Да, будет так.
Нет не все так просто , как вы думаете . Он не злой персонаж , она должна была стать его женой , но он не видел ее лица ... ее семью убили и она служанкой пошла к нему ..он очень много страдал , больше чем она в конце покончил с собой , не выдержал , жаль его очень. Очень хорошая дорама ..

Она молчала как гусь, набравший в рот воды. Всё выдавала себя в роли жертвы. Я даже не хочу смотреть эту дораму. Китайцы превзошли самих себя по таким страдальческим дорамам. У них делают пакости кому не лень. И потом говорят, ой-ой - они же чиновники. Или же великий какой-то там министр. Его нельзя трогать. Хоть подставил принцессу и убил сю её семью. И выдал замуж свою дражайшую дочку замуж за принца вместо неё. А почему бы и нет. Какая разница? Убить одну семью, превратить их единственную дочь в служанку , как раз для принца , который должен был жениться на ней. Оскара им , за такие душераздирающие сценарии. Для них, чем больше люди переживают, тем приятнее? Почему бы не снимать дорамы с хорошими концами? Я много чего посмотрела, хочу сказать. Но есть такие, которые не могу смотреть. Раздражают, и всё. И таких как я много. А это им выгодно? Пустая трата времени хочу сказать. Я эту дораму, никому не стала бы рекомендовать.
@@ЗаремаБжахова должна вам отдать должное за такой длинный комментарий у меня лично не хватило бы терпения)))..за слезные сцены соглашусь , но тем не менее из многих исторических дорам эта качественная дорама и слава тебе господи нет летающих людей ловящие стрелы на лету и женщины убивающие мужиков по пять штук за раз, потому что они каратисты и т.д )))да я посмотрела эту дораму и она мне очень понравилась, но признаюсь честно пересматривать не буду.. но есть такие исторические дорамы , которые я могу пересмотреть , а их всего две)))а смотреть дорамы стала одна из первых , когда еще народ не понимал, что мы в плену азиатского кинематографа )))
