  • Spring is an ideal time for repotting plants, particularly when they become root-bound. Pothos is a common houseplant and can outgrow its container. When this happens, you will need to repot the plant into a larger pot or divide it. Laurie Williams from Memphis Botanical Garden shows how to divide and repot a pothos. Laurie starts from the bottom, dividing the root system to ensure minimal stress on the plant. Selecting the right pot and soil is important. Using a soilless mix enriched with organic matter is best. After repotting, thorough watering and the use of moisture-retaining products like polymer crystals help establish healthy root systems.
Laurie also talks about the benefits of moving houseplants outdoors for the summer.
