The best dish rack will vary depending on each set of circumstances in each individual home. It's a good thing that there are so many choices on the market when it comes to these dish drainer racks that are used on a daily basis
Dish racks vary in design, but have the same main purpose of draining wet dishes after washing them.
The dish drainer in the video here is not from a major brand like Kitchenaid, OXO or made by Ikea. But it offers many of the features and option you'll see in more expensive brands. The dish rack has slots that fit most conventional plates, sauces, and helps to organize lids, pots and pans. There is a separate container for utensils like forks, spoons, knives, chop sticks and cooking tools like spatulas, tongs and serving spoons. The bottom has holes so that the water can drip through as well. On one side there are wire cut outs to place cups on to dry. Like other dish drainers, this comes with a water collection tray to be placed underneath the rack itself. Lastly, there are plastic, rubber feet on the bottom to keep it stable and stationary on counter tops. One modification that has been done is to add a slanted base to angle the drip trainer into the sink for automatic draining. Some other models come with an angled drip tray, but if yours doesn't, the diy fix is quite simple.
The dish drying rack here is very similar to other brands and models when it comes to simple wire frame types like an inexpesive Kitchenaid dish rack. But, there are more fancier options out there. This includes wood based ones like bamboo or another type of wooden dish rack. These are often collapsible, foldable and made for a few dishes and usually are bought to match the existing decor of a kitchen. Folding racks are great because of size, but can also be ineffective because of size if you need something bigger. For the ultimate in space-saving, there's the in sink disk rack products. These are similar to the rack in the video here, but sit in the sink and not on the countertop. Because of this, they're great dish racks for small spaces. Another popular option is the over the sink racks. These things basically are designed to sit on top of a sink with rail type arms and the dishes drip dry right into the sink. These can be convenient, but you'll be limited by the size of your sink in terms of drying area.
Many of the more modern dish racks are the popular hanging dish rack systems. These use a rod of some sort that goes across the backwall of the sink or in between cabinets. Then the racks, shelves and hooks hang to make a customizable setup. This may not be ideal in all homes, but looks clean and organized when installed properly. If a wall mounted dish drainer system like this works in your home, definitely consider it. If not, there's nothing wrong with a simple one like int he video her or even a two teir dish rack with cover. Whatever works in your space and is within your budget should be seriously considered.
When choosing a dish drainer, think about antimicrobial materials, ease of cleaning and size. A wooden dish rack may look nice, but for long term use, a stainless steel rack may be better. If you have kids in the house and a large family, the bigger the better for all the dishes that will have to be washed and dried on a daily basis.
If you're searching for the best dish drying rack for your kitchen, consider all your options like in sink to 2 tier, over the sink dish drainer racks.
