      A lot of people don’t like this album’s sound but is by far the best Rise Against has ever been lyrically. Disparity by Design, A Gentleman’s Coup, Survivor Guilt and Endgame are 4 of my favourite songs ever lyrically.

    Every single day. Every day. I'm so thankful that bands like Rise Against and 5FDP speak for us. This is an older song of theirs, but still for so many it rings true. None of us will forget our brothers and sisters. Will you? Will you elect politicians who have a history of abandoning us and ambassadors? Will you elect people so willing to let people torture and destroy us? We will gladly lay our lives down for you. But will you let them abandon us when they could send aid? Out of or in the military, I would die for you. I would gladly lay my life down to protect another person; whether or not I'm in the military. Please never elect a senator, congress person, or president that would rather I die for profit than my willing sacrifice to die for you. We are already prepared to die for strangers, to protect them. Don't allow them to make it about dollar signs anymore. Please.

      are you saying that we should've stayed out of ww2? and we honor the soldiers because they are fighting and dying so you don't have to. it doesn't matter if the war is justified to you because someone still has to fight it

    • @ReikaLovelyFlower
      @ReikaLovelyFlower 8 років тому +1

      +Brian Sanders Not all soldiers are worthy of being honored. War is still a horrible thing. Justified or not, but if you can't justify it why fight in it? "to protect my country" "to protect the weak" sure but do you never think to question your government?

    • @KFishproductionII
      @KFishproductionII 8 років тому +1

      +Brian Sanders did we fight world war 2 to protect peace globally or for the benefit of the corporations who fund the wars and demand oil?

    • @AshaMcSkrt
      @AshaMcSkrt 8 років тому +5

      +Kalyl Santos When it comes to war, I say avoid it as much as you can, do everything to prevent it because it's horrible. You're not just fighting a corrupt government or whatever, you're attacking innocent civilians and people who believe in their cause as much as you.
      However, I'm always compelled to honor the troops that fought, because it takes a certain level of bravery to be willing to get shot at for your country. Even if the wars are meaningless, they don't have it very easy, and they do things I would never do. I respect soldiers, but not the war itself.

      It's better to die on your feet than to live in your knees, suggests that you have died the moment you were free, It's better to live on your feet than die on you knees means that is better to be free (alive) than dying on your knees... Since it is a song directed to the soldiers it kinda makes sense.... If a soldier died in the battlefield he died on his feet (unfortunelly some people do believe they are fighting for freedom), however he followed orders from the "weak", the "coward". Nonetheless the ones who turn their backs to war lived on their feet instead of dying in their knees cause they refused to fight for another person profict, a person that only sees you as a number in a war to preserve is lifestyle

    • @Rikulz

      Well the question is really would you rather die for your beliefs or live in oppression. Or to live free rather than die for others belief(not truly free.) Neither is a right or wrong ideology but the second comes across as there's always another way(a white flag warrior.)

      Spain was destroyed because Queen Isabella and King Fernando thought it would be a good idea to overthrow the Queen Elizabeth. It was one of the largest invasion of their time and it failed. They couldn't recover from that battle. As a result, Great Britain because the strongest nation on Earth untill World War 2.

      lo explico en español usted habla de la armada invencible destruida por una TORMENTA y no fueron ni fernando ni isabel IGNORANTE fue felipe II casi 100 años despues de lo que usted dice, un pais no se destruye por una flota, además en el siglo xvii españa fue la potencia mas poderosa del mundo con el rey carlos I de españa y V de alemania, españa gobernó sobre toda alemania portugal america del sur y parte del norte, tenia enclaves en africa y filipinas en asia mientras que en esa epoca los ingleses estaban en guerra civil

    America, The United States. We, as Americans, created our country with a war against the at the time Strongest Country in the World; England. Then survived for about 10 years with no concrete government where at any moment we could fall apart. Then years later we did fall apart; a revolutionary war within ourselves. The Civil War and even to this day there is hate from the Southern part of The United States to the Northern but we are still UNITED, strong. We as a nation survived Two World Wars while many did not, We as a nation survived the Cold War, WE as AMERICANS helped and stopped many other. WE as a NATION are a superpower. And WE are GREAT!
    Donald Trump while running for Presidency almost divided US but failed. Even though the man is on his way to be our President he will never succeed in separating US.
    WE are AMERICANS and WE will NEVER FALL!!!

      Up the death count of innocents
      Up with the fresh scent of blood
      Up with the criminal rate
      Up with the burning houses
      And Down, The Only Ones That Could've Saved Us.
      Your idea is flawed, thought without care.
      without knowledge,
      you're asking for no nations and no form of defense. Terrorist groups aren't apart of any nation. what you're asking is for us to be helpless against multiple groups that would take over the world if given a chance
      rethink what you have said.
      and think of the countless that would be dead, at your idea

    • @bunnypopeiv544
      @bunnypopeiv544 9 років тому +1

      First Name Last Name His was a simple statement(I respectfully dispose you from recommending a thought to death count on words that catch little wind or influence), and terrorists would *not* be our issue.
      Taking his statement directly, he never said down with warfare, he never mentioned the struggles inside unison.
      Unison. We wouldn't have unison merely by dropping borders. Prejudice afflicts every one of us, even you, even I. Separation is an affliction unto us cast by ancestry and human capability; as long as we have the brains to befriend one another, we'll have the brains to tear each other apart.
      Why would brains lead to our separation? Because logic does not lead to peace, sadly. We, the beautiful species of innovators and geniuses, poets and engineers, we seek opportunity to improve, and what better measure of improvement than that of betterment over peers?
      The same spark of humanity that motivates us to push on wards, is the one which tells us to leave others behind. Even our words, our opinions, are that which would burn the world given the chance, just as any terrorist group would. The world burns no matter who holds it, for we all seem to grasp a torch.
      As for this comment, it's made to remind you that you yourself are an idealist, you are one who grasps a torch. You tell others to rethink, yet your analysis of words is lackluster and feign. Apologies for the essay, and apologies for my late addition to the conversation. Have a nice day.

    Where they got the motto "it's better to die on your feet than to die on your knees" at the war at 1812, America was being boomed by British ships and when the British got on shore dead americans were holding the American flag and someone said "it's better to die on your feet than to die on your knees. Thats how the star spangled banner was made(the American national anthem).

    Artificial enemy refers to how we are in a 'War on Terror'. This means that we are fighting terror, instead of an actual physical being. Many higher authorities have even said that the war is to stop terror which could never be stopped. In fact, all we have done is seen the terror that a small group of people gave America and returned it with even more terror for the people in Iraq and Afghanistan.
