I just found AA Allen a month ago, never had heard of him. Now I can't get enough. Gene Martin is amazing! Been searching but none of his music on CD only Lps. I would love to go back in time to a tent meeting. I was born in 1966 and would love to return to this type of atmosphere. In these tent revivals there was no segregation just God's children praising and worshipping. I love it!!!!!! Full of the Holy Ghost. What a treasure they left us.
Richard Page is my dad. He is still playing music for the lord to this day. I was a very little boy back during the Miracle Valley days but i remember them vividly. What a blessed time! Thank you so much for posting these videos!
This type of worship still exist! My father is the Bishop of the Outreach Church of Jesus in Kissimee, FL and this is how we have service. There are still men of God that believe in "TRUE" WORSHIP. I am so thankful that my dad is the same and has not let go of the ole Land Mark. Want to have this kind of worship? Come to Outreach!
I traveled with Nancy Harmon for six years. She is great friends with Gene Martin. They are both POWER HOUSES! Very anointed. Nancy still has meetings like this! She's off the charts.
People the reason we do not have church like this today is because every one dose not want to take the time to pray and do not have faith in god like people did back then did. people back then did not have a doc. to every time they had a cold. they had to trust god. they also did not have the money to pay there bills so they had to trust in god for that also.
You are so right Holyghostfire - there is no way this singing could come from people who are not on fire for their God. Br. Gene Martin is anointed in his music and the message of our Saviour's love for all His people comes shining through!
I love this soooo much! I may be in my 20's but my mom raised my sister and I on this music and no music today can even come close in comparison. This is where God is truly present and his anointing is sooo strong. I wish I had the opportunity to meet them just like my mother did growing up, but he is still my brother in Christ. Bro. Allen's younger son Paul has all of these albums online for sale as CDs and he has the sermons also.
BigonIce same here Sis! Everybody says I have a old soul because I believe in Old Time Holiness.....I listen to Bro.Allen, Mother Poole, Apostle Johnnie Washington Daily.....
Now, this is how my church used to sing this song. When I get together with friends, and sing it this way, they look at me like, "What are you singing?" Now, I can let them hear for themselves (smile).
evry time i hear the old school gospel of god it makes me rjoyce all over again. thank you Mom & dad for teaching me the way. R .I . P . I love and miss you.
I'M TELLING YOU BISHOP A.A. ALLEN HAD SOUL HE LEAD A GREAT CHURCH DURING THE 1960'S HE WAS MIGHTILY USED OF GOD AS FAR AS PREACHING AND SO WAS THE LATE GREAT GENE MARTIN WHO SANG FOR HIM DURING THE TIME IT WAS GREATLY FROWNED UPON.
This is an intregal part of American Religious history and should be viewed by those who can remember when and our young people to see how it was done.
For those of you who are vintage record collectors, there exist a commercial album experiment from 1967 involving Gene Martin, Richard Littlejohn, and Sylvester Haynes. The album was produced on an independent label while the three of them were still associated with the Allen Ministry. This 1967 album headlined Richard Littlejohn as the leader, Gene Martin contributed backing and co-leading vocals. Sylvester Haynes was at the organ and Rev. Littlejohn was at the piano.
WOW! He set the standard for a whole new breed of pianist. I remember as a boy going to Miracle Valley and hearing him and David Davis. Many blessings to you.
I e-mailed Richard Page back in 2004 and asked about David Davis. He e-mailed back and said that Davis had died in 1990. Rev. Tommy Anderson died three years ago. The rest of the original music team are still walking the planet, including Nancy Harmon. Richard Page said he was interested in a reunion and kept in touch with the rest of the survivors. Gene Martin and Nancy Harmon have sung together on Nancy's television show. A reunion would be awesome!
Right, Richard Littlejohn is the hardest to trace on the retro-radar screen. He seems to have disapeared. Rev. Ross Collete is active online with a ministry out of St, Louis, MO. Richard Page manages a Holy Land tour company based in Florida, he contributes regularly to a retro website called the "gospel tent page". I last saw and heard the great David Davis in person in 1988 in Dallas, TX.
@jwallen7 david davis died i think back in the 80s, richard littlejohn i knew personally for many years but he dissapeared for me somewhere in san francisco in the late 70s or early 80s. richard page was still alive a few years ago and working with various evangelist ,of course brother gene is still preaching and singing folk happy somewhere in america(atlanta)! mangum i wouldnt guess at. if hes around he maybe gooogled i would imagine he was the youngest of the team.
@dallaskenn oh it was 1990 i knew it was around that time but i didnt know it was so close to sylvester haynes death. he was the one who told me that david had passed. and he died in july of 1990. @a reunion awsome! wouldnt it though!
@dallaskenn songs written and arranged in the basement of haynes miracle temple, or so the late rev. ira sylvester haynes told me, lol....sadly of the three only one is still with us.....
now of days people do not trust god so why you do not see church and the HOLY GHOST move like this. if we put more trust in god we would see things that happend way bake when. well i don't know about you but i serve a god that never changes. he is the same today the next day and the days before that.
@UNDERTAKER730 benny hinn come from kathrin kuhlmans ministry they were from different backgrounds entirely. allen appealed to the poor and down trodden while kathrine khulman reached out to the more traditional and affluent.
If your'e refering to UNDERTAKER730's assessment of Benny Hinn falling short in comparison to Rev. Allen, you might benefit from the study of some Pentecostal history.
Probably about 1969. The drummer was a friend of mine. We would hang out in 1969 when they came to Los Angeles. Rev A A Allen died June 1970, so it was before that.

Now this is what you call real praise, and a real church.
Oh...what a church service! What happened to those days! Saints were Saints. Now a days, you can't tell from a sinner to a saint!
Now, this is how my church used to sing this song. When I get together with friends, and sing it this way, they look at me like, "What are you singing?" Now, I can let them hear for themselves (smile).
