How I make comparisons: • HOW I MAKE COMPARISONS...
How the overlay works: red color channel is taken from unnerfed version, green and blue - from nerfed version. So, if the color of a pixel in both versions are same, then after overlaying its color is NOT distorted. If there is a difference, then the color is distorted depending on which color channels prevail.

Crazy that such small changes can take a level from Bloodbath difficulty to Tartarus difficulty.

@@koiboi1676 all the changes were usually small but they were literally everywhere in the level which makes the level heaps easier
The unnerfed isn't the Tartarus difficulty one, the old blade of justice is the bat shit hard one

Imagine the original version will be deleted and some1 verify this
The interesting thing is no individual part seems to have been supernerfed for the release. The level as a whole is just filled with 100 smaller nerfs that makes the whole thing much easeier.
main reason why it was nerfed at the time of its verification was bc it was thought that it was practically impossible at the time, interesting to see how times have changed
i wonder if someone could end up verifying the unnerfed version & that becomes the official version
that is not true the last ship was definitely supernerfed from medium challenge difficulty to insane demon difficulty

There was an older version that was even harder. It had this INSANE wave section.
There is also that slow ship section
IIRC there was a test version that suggests the level was going to be based on the whole song aka much longer, holy shit

that and the dual ship straightfly are probably the most challenging parts of the level
with these tiny little changes the level went from a top 20 on the modern demonlist to a top 20 on the old demonlist
The unnerfed blade of justice looks around the number 7 or 8 spot on the list imo

Yep. The level used to be 4 mins long and I read somewhere that the difficulty was actually slightly higher than this one. An actual version of the level was made before deco and never saw the light of day:(

Un nerfed is basically just edge of destiny
there were 3 versions of BOJ. the original one (which was unfinished and impossible), trustas one (which most verifiers had before Rico), and then the regular one, which was nerfed because manix wanted it to come out so desperately
Fun fact: the unnerfed is harder than zodiac no wonder rico nerfed it

This level would likely still be decently high on the list today if it were released in its original version. When this level released, people were still arguing about if Erebus was harder than Sonic Wave.

BoJ and Yatagarasu's(unnerfed) difficulties were way ahead of their time

yatagarasu was insanely unbalanced, some parts were pretty simple and then there was fucking csx

I'm kinda confused... is Edge of Destiny the "old version", the one that's even harder than the unnerfed version? or is Edge of Destiny the unnerfed version? Because the unnerfed version does look hard, sure, but it definitely does not look harder than levels like tartarus, trueffet, kenos, and even bloodlust honestly.
Edge of destiny is the unnerfed version with buffs in case you were wondering.

Wasnt boj nerfed because manix wanted it to be released quickly or deleted? I think i saw that somewhere i dont remember
So Sunix (i think ?) was the first verifier of the unnerfed version (this one) and dropped it to trusta, who nerfed the level and dropped it as well later on to dual kiki who then gave it to RicoLP because he had school in the way, and then Rico got Manix to nerf it because he wouldnt play it and then it got verified

Btw this "unnerfed" is actually edge of destiny because some part of unnerfed boj is completetly diffren for like the first ship unnerfed version is just like stragith fly and well very awkard fly

I record a macro for the unnerfed version, and then I duplicate and manually edit (don't re-record!) it for the nerfed one.

I wish that the unnerfed version was verified instead... It was probably harder than Bloodlust or even Crimson Planet at the time
However, this isn't the old version of BoJ that was crazy hard with the insane wave at 35%
The unnerfed was way too hard to be completed back then, if EoD is just the unnerfed with different deco (I'm not sure) then that means it'd be a top 10 rn, as the verifier says it's around Tartarus difficulty

The fact that the unnerfed was the version that was supposed to be verified and people thought that it was surely gonna be a top 1 but it only landed in the top 23 because of the heavy nerfs like the nerds made it easier than bloodbath because bloodbath was still in the top 10 or top 15

EoD is a slightly buffed remake of unnerfed boj. There are many versions of the level that can be talked about and taken into consideration but they're all so different.
Had this not been nerfed. It would be at least top 10.

If the old version ever saw the light of day and somehow someone could verify that monstrosity, then no level could ever take #1 again. It would be far harder than Tartarus and that's an understatement.

old boj (not unnerfed) casually being top 1 for a solid 4 years if it was verified by sunix or whatever when it was released
it would have been hilarious, or it would have sparked a train of boj haters that decided it needs to be thrown to the wolves and get it removed off the demon list and declare sunix a robot (seriously how tf did people conclude that sunix was a robot and NOT a hacker)
