@ He ended up back at United only because his loan spell ended at West Ham. Lingaard only played 16 games the 2021-22 season for United before he was allowed to leave on a free transfer. So remind me again what which big club Lingaard ended up after putting himself in the market
@bonjovi7120 Yeah, you're trying to rewrite history to suit your argument. For some absurd reason, Solksjear wanted to keep him after his spell at West Ham, despite plenty of clubs being in for him off the back of his spell there.
If Rashford goes to Villa and has one of his purple patches, he won't be short of offers come the summer. I live in Spain, in Barcelona in fact, and the feeling here is that their interest in him is very much real, but not financially viable in this window.

@Honestly given the turmoil and types of manager United have had recently it’s no surprise he has been so inconsistent. It's hard to tell if its Rashford or United who were the problem and I guess we’ll find out now. Also if there is a manger who can change his form it's Emery and if he can get him anywhere near his best it could be an immense signing. Even If he doesn't perform its no big deal for Villa it's not like we’re stuck with him we don't have to buy him.
You'll see a different Rashford under Emery, he'll make him fall in love with the game again. New club, fresh start, at 27 he's coming into his prime. He suits our style of play more than Ten Hag's & Amorin.
It's blindingly obvious that players are not happy at Man United, there is instability in the dressing room & in the boardroom at Old Trafford. McTominay walked away, it looks like Garnacho is on his way out too. Even at 75% near his best Rashford is one of your best players. We'll have a look at him, if it doesn't work he goes back. But Rashford, Rogers & Watkins with Asencio in the hole is a potent attack. Emery's improved virtually every player at Villa in the last 2 years. He's also worked with big players at PSG. Give me Rashford over Leon Bailey every day of the week. Asencio also a major upgrade on Buendia

The Rashford saga is one of the most woke episodes ever. Imagine being paid £350K a week to kick a football and being cheered by thousands of people at one of the top world clubs, to then tell everyone that you want to go to Aston Villa because your coach asked you to do that?!

United as terrible as we been since Fergie; won 2 FA Cups; Europe League; 2 League Cups; still finished 2nd a few times. End of an era? Talk about hyperbole. Yes, he came through the Academy but he's not hit the standards that reflect his ability. In the last FIVE seasons, Rashford has scored 70 goals. In one of those, he scored 30. That's 40 goals in 4 seasons. In another, he scored 21. So in three seasons he's totalled 19. He hasn't been missing games due to injury and for almost 2 years, he's been paid over £300k pw. There is no need for all this analysis. No doubt he's a talented player but those goal stats are on him, not United. I'll defend Hojlund who, unlike Rashford, doesn't get the same game time, even though he's one of the best finishers the club has.
