A, massive thank you for the videos. I've tried three of your recipes so far, the scones, fruit cake and lemon drizzle. The lemon drizzle was for a church meeting and I got loads of compliments. All turned out really well. Thank you so much for no waffle, no music, down to earth goodness x
Beautiful quiche. I appreciate your sharing your talent and wonderful recipes. I'm a very old man who remembers when . Bless you and your wonderful baking!
Awesome recipes made by an awesome gentleman. For some reason, i get very nostalgic watching your content. You remind me of the 90s when i was in primary school and we had to make scones, cakes and cookies. Such a great time period in my life. What i really like about your recipes is that they're very basic and cost effective, yet look delicious. It's the kind of food i was brought up on. I wish you and your channel all the best sir.
Thanks you very much and yes many of the recipes I'm doing came from my Grandparents and Father when they used to have a baying day, nothing but nostalgia there. Thanks for watching.
Back in the 80's that followed by Pineapple Upside down Pudding got me a Pass for practical O Grade Food and Nutrition... We need equivalent of that being taught in schools now
A proper Quiche! Far better than anything in a shop, far cheaper too. I wish lessons like you show could be taught in schools as they were when I was a girl. It’s not sexist if you teach both boys and girls!
This Was taught in schools back in the day! Good house keeping skill. Never forgot. Covered cookery classes best.❤ love watching. Thankyou. Lemon drizzle fab.
Truly appreciate your helpfulness to people struggling to eat well on a very tight budget - also the down to earth no fluff presentation. I get so tired of people taking 15 minutes to say what could be said in 5. To the point, no waste of time, and very helpful. Well done.
Of course what is absolutely priceless is making something yourself and enjoying it knowing exactly what went into it -good wholesome ingredients and nothing else.
I think I can make a quiche now that I've seen your step-by-step instructions. You make things simple and clear and doable. Love your style and recipes. Thank you!
AND you can put anything you like in it! If you have picky eaters, make several crusts & carve a letter from extra dough to personalize & put it on top😮! C for Carol has no onions & D for David has no mushrooms😂❤! My favorite is bacon, spinach & cheese, Yum😊!
Yes. I used to watch my Nana, Aunt and Mother bake all day in eachothers kitchen when I was about 4 years old back in the 60s and I think something must have rubbed off. Thanks a lot.
I have mad3 this recipe a few times now. It’s so nice. I even bought the correct size flan dish so that I didn’t have to adjust the quantities. Always a winner Thank you
I don’t bake.. until now, your channel has inspired me to try something different.. so i decided to make quiche for the kids when they get home from school using your advice and the instructions given, they turned out great.. so thankyou for your time putting these videos together so people like me can enjoy baking on a budget too.. lots of love from Australia 🇦🇺 keep up the great work and thanks again
An egg, bacon and cheese quiche are popular here in Australia = ive never made one myself, just shop bought from the supermarket. but now ill give it a go (with some diced bacon) :)
A local fancy cafe serves a lunch plate of a slice of quiche and a small green salad, for $12.99 US. Your recipe is about $0.50 US! I can't wait to try your recipe for the crust - that is my weak point. Thanks for the great videos!
I got a recipe very similar to this off a policeman thirty odd years ago my kids loved it . I always served it with chips and told them I had made a tomato sauce, it was really a tin of tomato soup . Will still do yours . Love your channel .
Yes I'm just making lemon drizzle cake having a cup of tea then will make your quiche. Forgot to say the police man told me it was his mother's recipe. Yorkshire lass , Jan
Wow! I just found your channel and am binge watching. Of course, subscribed! Comfort food, delicious satisfying. Great tutorials! There was only watching your mom and Aunties when I was growing up. When you asked them a question, their collective answer was, You have to watch me! I am so appreciating everything you give us! Thank you 🥰
Been doing some of your recipes and all good would like a date and walnut cake my nan used to make it. My attempts are not as good like to see your one ❤
Thank you for the recipe. Like your channel as no music and down to earth. I try it with a little tweak here and there as certain items are very expensive here. Very tasty.
This is great old fashioned cooking at its' best! I remember my gran and my mum baking like this on Sunday afternoons. You have so many delicious recipes to try and I love your jolly demeanor, thank you 😊❤
Love your food, basic ingredients, wholesome, easy and delicious ! A fondest memory is visiting my Gran. She could make the most delicious homemade pastries with simple fillings, often from leftovers. We loved anything in pastry and jam pastry log was a regular treat. There was always scones or cake too. Grans pantry cupboard was very basic but we felt we ate like kings at her table. And, we were all healthy too ! So different from todays over processed and overpriced convenience foods. Thank you for your great channel. 🍞🍰☕🙏👏
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching all your videos today. You have made it so simple and break it down so well. I have just ordered a quiche tin and made a shopping list for tomorrow im going to try the quiche, the pasties and scones my husband will be so pleased if i can pull them all off as well as you do there 3 of his favorite dishes. Thank you 😊
I made pasties, and quiche yesterday and they were all a hit! Thank you for the recipes and easy to follow videos. Can't wait to make more of your delicious makes 😋
Brilliant thanks just the thing now the weather in southern New Zealand is getting colder 👍 great recipe and im so, so glad that you keep everything straight forward without any stupid jingles or other nonsense. Tremendous stuff 🥰
I love your videos, I'd love to see how you make a meat and potato pie with minced steak please as mine always seem to go wrong. Thank you, keep up the good work
Hi from New Zealand, I am enjoying watching your channel. You have a great way of explaining everything. Easy and delicious affordable meals. Thank you 😀
Well done Dave for providing another basic budget recipe anyone can make, have you tried replacing the cream with a little extra milk and cheese to compensate, it tastes just as good and you don't have to worry about what to use the remaining cream on. Depending on where you shop for your ingredients the price for 8 slices only costs me 43p per slice, and that's not using the supermarkets own branded items. Also sent you a recipe via email.
Making it according to this recipe for the second time, but this time with gorgonzola for a change...it is just genius!!! Thanks so much for inspiration!! Greetings from Germany ❤
Thanks again, reminds me of my mum making pastry with lard. Didn’t do me any harm! Lovely recipe as usual. Still making your delicious ginger cake. My lads love the taste / texture. Regards John from Devon. Btw good to see your subscribers are looking healthy! 😊
Thanks a lot, lard is great and they tell me it's better for you than butter and it makes great pastry, hope you give the quiche a try, and yes the channel is doing very well, many thanks to everyone who is following.
Ive always been scared of attempting quiche 😃 but im definitely going to make this one and its so economical as for two people you can get 2 or 3 meals out of it. The pastry is so simple and much better than shop bought. I love your channel and look forward to your recipes every week 😊
I look forward to watching every recipe, love his no nonsense videos. I only have one problem. I’m always starving when I’ve finished watching 😀😀👍👍. Thanks you so much for giving us your time. 🥰
Just a question about the rice you used for blind baking. Do you keep the same rice for all your blind baking? Am I right in thinking that the rice is no use for anything else once it's been used for blind baking? Thanks for a great channel!
I will be making quiche tomorrow,I just wanted to say I have done a few of your recipes now and family has enjoyed them I am planning on making your ginger cake recipe for the weekend, enjoyed this video oh and I made your pizza and the sauce it’s great I have jar of the sauce in my fridge looking forward to your next video
Catching up on the last video and todays video too. Beautifully done with the both. Sundays are my baking day having a go at making wholemeal foods 😊 keep the great work up!

O Grade Food and Nutrition... We need equivalent of that being taught in schools now
I agree, If kids are told how to bake and cook for themselves it will stand them in good stead buth nutritionally and financially. Thanks a lot.
A proper Quiche! Far better than anything in a shop, far cheaper too. I wish lessons like you show could be taught in schools as they were when I was a girl. It’s not sexist if you teach both boys and girls!
Thanks a lot and I agree basic baking and cooking should be taught in schools, important skills for life.
This Was taught in schools back in the day! Good house keeping skill. Never forgot. Covered cookery classes best.❤ love watching. Thankyou. Lemon drizzle fab.

I have never thought of egg washing the crust! That will work well for a tomato pie this summer. I love your videos.
The egg wash gives it a bit more crisp and browns better. Thanks.
Great channel mate.
Reminds me of being a kid in the 60s, watching really good food being made, on what I grew up to find was a very limited budget.
Yes. I used to watch my Nana, Aunt and Mother bake all day in eachothers kitchen when I was about 4 years old back in the 60s and I think something must have rubbed off. Thanks a lot.
same here, same time, never fogotten and we were quite happy with what we had....

I was a cook but still love watching someone else that cooks good nourishing economical recipes.

Looks delicious 😋 waving from the USA.
Welcome from the UK. hope you give the quiche a try. Thanks for watching.
In the present climate this programme is very relevant !!!!
Thanks a lot.
Eggwashing the crust before adding the filling is genius! Thanks for giving this Yank some yummy but affordable tastes of home for my limey hubby!!
Apparently American overs are slower to cook. Filling is going on 35 min and still liquid in the middle. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait!
Thanks a lot, yes the egg wash works great, no more soggy bottoms.
Eggwashing the crust to seal is a step I've been missing. I don't really mind my slightly wetter crust, but I might try that. Thank you!
Yes the egg wash helps to seal it before the liquid goes in. Thanks.
