Oct. 23, 2024. Hello Becky, I hope you are well. Couple years ago I was successful with CD to USB stick with embroidery files. Today I bought quilting designs from JuJu. Downloaded ok to computer. But I think I screwed up with transfer to USB. I unzipped file and I think I transferred it three times! I put USB stick into sewing machine and some of the designs say it is too big for the largest hoop.Anyways, I sure appreciate your tutorials. I'm sure I'll figure it out. Thank you for serving in the Air Force! Marion in Oregon
Excellent presentations. You have provided invaluable information on the steps of transferring zipped designs from computer to embroidery machine. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you so much. Excellent topic for all quilters. I have posted this video in multiple folders in my UA-cam files so I can refer back to this topic in months to come when I have forgotten certain points and need a reminder.
You are so entertaining, . All your tutorials are so educational for people like me who is new to embroidery world. I have been sewing for 51 years. I am a new owner of Brother Luminaire XP2 embroidery machine. I also purchased a new HP Envy laptop just for this machine. I am more familiar with Apple Mac but slowly learning. Thank you for helping us gain confidence.
This information was super helpful for a newer individual coming into this area of sewing! I’m definitely not a “techie” person but Becky made this so easily understandable. LOVE IT 😍
That must be a southern saying. I learned that saying from my mom. " my tongue got wrapped around my eye tooth and I couldn't see what I was saying" Love it.
Thank you for such a well done tutorial !!!! And thank you for your patience in explaining both ways . I have done my shortcut way and sometimes it did not go well , lol. Will do so much better in the future. You are Wonderful 👩💻
I embroider on my SE 625 and am addicted! I bought a digitize Hatch software for my learning experience! Maybe I'll become a digitizer but looking for how to videos on uploading to etsy onto Etsy to sell my art.
Your right My phone is giving me fits. Im trying to free up space and Im not doing very well. I even stopped at the AT&T store and had a SD card put in to move pictures and other things to the card. The guy that sold it to me can't even do it. I guess I need to Google it. Thank you for sharing this with us.
If your phone is slowing down, it may not be because of the things you have on it. If it is an older phone (3-4+ years), the phone companies are notorious about slowing down the speed of data transfers and downloads/uploads on those older devices. I have a 1 year old Samsung Galaxy S9+ and it hums right along and is loaded with photos and videos. My business phone for our storage lot is an older S7 model with very few apps or photos on it - I use it mostly for calls and texts with only business contacts on it. And using that phone is so frustrating...it's like click...wait...click...wait. Grrr. Both are on the same AT&T data plan too. Phone companies do all they can to keep up with the latest technology on the newer phones and having to continue to support older models is a drain on their resources and bottom line.
Thanks for the refresher! As I get older I get brain dead sometimes. I used to teach computers back in the day but have been retired for 8 years and things are moving faster then I can keep up.
My Mom used to say that too! She was from Texas too!!!🥰 Did you crochet that bear on your desktop? I love it when you show us step by step how to do stuff! Thank-you!😍
Just got Ameli’s intro book off Amazon. Looking forward to giving this method a go. Took plunge few months ago and got the Mag Hoops at a DIME event. Should be helpful with this technique... I’m hoping.
Hi 🙋🏻♀️! I just found you and I thank you for this video. I just bought a brother se600 and have a question. Should I buy several flash drives in order to organize embroidery designs downloaded from Etsy and other places? Like I was thinking maybe separate them by holiday, one for birthdays, one for babies etc. I want to start a small business embroidering and plan to eventually have a lot of designs. Thank you my dear and Happy 2021! PS I’m going to watch your tutorial for beginner embroidery next. I don’t have much knowledge about sewing at all but I want to learn how to quilt for first make a baby blanket for my first grandchild. It’s all his fault I even got this sewing machine 😂. I’m really enjoying it when I’m not creating bird nests! That is so frustrating but I have learned what I was doing wrong. I’m thankful I found you!
Most computers can handle all your embroidery and quilting files without really needing a separate USB for them. I recommend setting up folders on your computer like a library card catalog. Then just use the USB to transfer files to the machine. USB's can fail and you don't want all your files to go away if one dies or gets lost.
Been watching your You tutorial. You are great at explaining and THANK YOU for talking slow enough for us beginners to follow. This is something most probably know, but dicd not see where you put the original ZIP file after you extracted files. Do you keep original or delete it. Would think you keep, but where. Thank you and hope I can find your answer 😃
I completely ignore zip files after I've downloaded them. They usually just stay in my downloads folder until I decide to go in and eventually delete them. If I ever need them again, I can always download from the vendor again.
Great refresher. I've been retired for several years now and I find I'm rusty. When you don't use something you tend to forget (esp when I'm trying to use Excel or Word). I'm lucky both of my laptops have multiple USB ports but think I need will need to replace one soon (sometimes it takes 10 minutes before it completely boots on). I would be in trouble if they didn't have the ports. I use a Blu-tooth mouse /keyboard and my scale downloads information to a program I have. I keep their ANTs plugged into all the time. Lucky I have three ports.I have trouble whenever I try to use the touchpad on the lap top it's just easier to use a mouse. Shoot I even have an adapter for a "desk file" (sure you remember them)I have some old games disks). Don't they also make a USB adapters that will hold several USB's?
Thank you, thank you ,thank you , thank you.. I can follow along with you now . And omg 😆 I cant wait to use that saying about the tongue and the eye teeth on my grandgirls ..they are going to crack up like I did ...love it...thank you again Becky you’re a 🌟😘💐
Becky, how about if you buy a design and it downloads to the download file as zipped? Do you already have a video on that process and how to get it onto a USB? If not, may you please think about doing one? Thanks...now I’m going to go sew something!
@@PowerToolsWithThread the biggest i could get at our walmart was a 500. so ended up with 2 from amazon 1TB and a 4 TB. one for my genealogy and 1 for everything else.
That was easy so far..when I got to my 4 files on disc, they were zip files...eg. Feathers.zip which I opened and. There are a multitude of feather files with different extensions. Do I just take my feathers.PES file copy it and paste it to my flash drive? Or do I need to extract the file to my computer and then try to transfer it to my flash drive?
I have stitch artist 3 and I’m looking for tutorials for it. Does mine have a thumbnail built into it? I paid 600 for mine. I think that may have been a mistake.
Oh no, not a mistake at all! Stitch Artist 3 (SA3) has all the tools that are in SA1 and SA2. I'm not a digitizer so I don't get into all of the stitch creation SA3 has to offer, but I do have some videos on SA2 which I think you'd enjoy to show how to create embroidery applique designs from paper patterns using SA2. I'll link the playlist below. Thumbnailer is a separate inexpensive purchase from Stitch Artist. It's a utility that runs separately from the software and is not included with any of the Embrilliance modules. You can only open them using embroidery software like Embrilliance Essentials or drag/drop the design to a USB and take it to your machine and open it there. Here is a link to Essentials. bit.ly/3a0Oq2r
That is SO handy! I'll have to get one of those for my new laptop. I have one at work on my desk with 4 USB ports and a couple of 110 plugs. We're not allowed to charge our phones using the USB ports on our government computers.
Hi Becky! Your step by step tutorials are the best! Thanks! BTW Some of the embroidery design companies are doing away with CD's. Anita Goodesign is switching to downloads once their inventory of CD's is dusted and done. I'll be attending an OESD event on Fri/ Sat and my guess is that they will be going the same route or putting designs on a USB.
@@PowerToolsWithThread Oh please do as I am sure I am not the only one with a ton of design cd's. Would we just transfer to an external drive? I like the whole idea of cd's because I can just glance at the cover to see that's the one I need. Darn it :(
@@PowerToolsWithThread I have bookcases full of CD's and for storage sake, getting a USB or download code would be preferred. I now need a system to keep my USB's in order and know what is in each stick without going through each and every one.
