- The hall of olden dreams es el segundo álbum de estudio de la banda española Dark Moor, lanzado en el año 2000. Su estilo es power metal sinfónico mezclado con metal Neo-clasico, el disco se destaca de las típicas bandas de power del monton, ya que tiene una escencia que te puede atrapar rapidamente, esto es gracias a la gran calidad compositiva de la banda, sus excelentes solos de guitarra neo-clasica y la emotiva voz de la vocalista Elisa Martin.

Not actually, they went partially with Ars Musica and then Project X totally down, sadly or at least IMHO but you have the "good" ones there to hear

What a ruddy good album. I listened to Gates of Oblivion beforehand and even though it's more highly rated, i was disappointed. This one however, is genius!

Carolus Rex by Sabaton might give this a run for its money, but I doubt it's "better." More like "potentially equal."
Debate? Why should anyone disagree with a personal opinion? There are so many power metal bands out there (*THAT YOU NEVER HEARD OF*), that there ought to be some band better than Dark Moor eventually.
There are well-known bands (Edguy, Symphony X, BG, Timmo Tolki, Rhapsody etc) that have shown continuous success and very good releases. There are some obscure/underground bands (like those in my channel) that put Dark Moor to shame, but they didn't receive the recognition they deserve. Comparing bands of the same sub-genre is just another reason for youtube flaming wars. Like that one Dimmu VS Cradle battle that oozed diarrhea.
Each one is entitled to enjoy his own music. As a side note, Dark Moor faded rather quickly in the mid '00s.

@@Arcanua They might be the best one, but at least where I am from (Colombia) there are many bands that are much more reknown, like Tierra Santa, Mago de Oz, Stravaganzza, Warcry, Avalanch, Saratoga and Medina Azahara, just to name the first ones that come to mind.

Why people think just of that? the band was still awesome w/o her, or do you think Elisa would write such epic lyrics and arranges on her own? I bet instrumentals alone are awesome too, i.e., listen The Ghost Sword's intro
The instrumentals, the melody etc sure are awesome, i know Elisa is not playling or composing the songs... However her voice is perfect for this kind of music... The male singer is not close to her... It is exactly like Fairyland, the first album with Elisa is just perfect while the other one is not that good... She just add some magic to the songs that no male singer can do.
Or maybe you can't accept anyone else because you're in some terms, a fanboy of Elisa? Nevermind...

Well, sorry if I was being mean, I just hate that everyone gives too much credit to Elisa just because of her voice (She really has an awesome voice, I know and I recognize) but that makes Dark Moor automatically nothing w/o her which is bad because as I said earlier, Garcia brothers are who really made Dark Moor, they compose and write the lyrics, of course, some other member do that too, and saying "After Elisa left, Dark Moor went downhills" makes me feel that Elisa was entire Dark Moor which is not, and for the new singer, Alfred Romero he fits the role (well not now, after Ars Musica they went in real downhill, IMHO), not as good as Elisa (maybe in another plane might be), but take awareness that Elisa is a woman, and you know, women can make deeper voices unless is HYDE from L'Arc~en~Ciel (also as example: women that do dubs as men). And a voice is not all that relevant, instrumentals are awesome too. And to top that, I was being in a similar situation but with Diablo Swing Orchestra, when Annlouice left it I was a bit dissapointed but I've lost the interest on them ever since their third album "Pandora's Piñata". And if you're a Elisa's fanboy you can always count with her Solo project and hear the band where she's in too. Saludos!

funny back when i was a wee teen in 2000s, i used to browse metal forums for recommendations. there were always huge heated arguments on what type of metal a certain band was. it was blasphemy to "mislabel" a bands genre and people would call you names and you were shunned by the community . It was nerdy, childish, and elitist. Its amusing, but not at all refreshing, to see nothing has changed in the metal community since then. for what its worth dark moor is considered power metal. great band, my favorite. elisa C is the greatest

This work is at its essence, like a painting painted on an infinite canvas at an ever more laborious pace but never able to find an end. The listener seeks and must only accept a denouement that brings him as close as possible to an intersection whose outcome is chaotic grandiloquence. A good piece of music though for a long walk under the rain through the countryside🤡
