I would suggest attaching a suction cup to the front side of the sign to make lifting the sign off the router a bit easier. If your sign is to rough (not the epoxy one though) you can layer it in blue tape to make the suction cup stick. Last but not least, Using the glue and tape method you could glue a small block of wood to the surface which will work just like the suction cup method I have described.
