I would say it's her worst SOLO episode. But if we're including episode where she's part of the ensemble with the rest of her family, I think that would go to (perhaps more obviously) No Such Luck, Taunting Hour, or A Dish Come True.
There have been plenty of episodes that had LJ brought to her lowest of lows. But barring NSL (for obvious reasons), it may sound like a hot take, but Taunting Hour... Yeah, this is very much another example of lowest of lows
3:12 fun fact Kyle Clifford also played for my favorite hockey team the Los Angeles Kings and won two Stanley Cup championships with them in 2012 and 2014
My guess is that Lynn’s family did her good luck rituals even though she wasn’t there to witness it because they didn’t want to let her down, or they were worried Lynn would blame them for the Jellyfish losing if she found out they didn’t do them. Anyway, I really don’t have much to say about this episode. It’s just “meh” for me, but I totally understand where you’re coming from. I will say I found SOME of Lynn’s good luck rituals to be kind of funny, though. It’s honestly really refreshing to hear someone who DOESN’T hate Lynn’s superstitions, since it seems like almost everyone absolutely despises it. I don’t love it, but it can lead to some interesting or funny moments sometimes. Good review. I’ll give this episode a 5/10.
It’s an okay episode, with some positives being the celebrity cameo, the interaction between Lynn and Mr. Grouse, the funny moments with Lynn’s superstitions and good luck rituals, and the scene with Lynn being dubbed “The Penguin”.
This episode was pretty bad, but I wouldn't say it was Lynn's worst. That goes to either NSL or Taunting Hour. Both of those episodes are borderline unwatchable.
Many say “The Taunting Hour” is a bad Lynn episode, but respectfully I disagree on the grounds that it was more of an ensemble episode and Lynn was actually pretty decent for most of the story up until the end. She was the victim at the beginning and then became an antagonist. I can see where people are coming from, but I’d take TTH over OTI any day.
After all the harm she caused in NSL, you'd think Lynn would abolish her stupid superstitions. Speaking of...now, the family knows how LINCOLN felt to be forced into an event AND to act in a demeaning manner just to please family (the squirrel suit)
Yeah, Lynn was really doing worse with her family with these sports rituals, and they were pretty much fed up with it. And the fact she didn't learn anything is just dumb. Anyway, great review, homie. Have a safe Sunday ❤️😎🤙
Yeah, her superstitions needs to stop....BIG TIME. That's the main problem with her character. Overall, one of Lynn's weakest episodes, but it was an okay episode. Good opinions, bro! 🙂
Garbage episode 0/10 I fully agree with this being Lynn's worst episode and I also consider this to be the worst season 4 episode!! Lynn is extremely insufferable here and her family have to suffer because of her superstitious nature!! I don't know if no such luck should count as a lynn episode since that episode was mostly on Lincoln's perspective but this is her worst episode by far. And one of the worst episodes of the loud house! And it sucks that season 4 also has her best episode, good sports. 😔 Good review
I feel this episode could've been salvaged had the family, in this case, Lincoln, Luan, and Lynn Sr, finally called her out on trying to force her superstition on everyone. Judging by the flashbacks we saw, one would think they'd be setting up where they finally tell off LJ, laying into her how stupid and worthless her superstitions really are, instead of the actual episode of them being too spineless to properly address how unhealthy it is for Lynn to be doing good luck rituals at every single hockey game.
Oh man, LJ truly was awful here. The whole superstitious part of her character is in my opinion the worst thing they ever did with her. I truly miss her goofy and fun side she had back in Season 1 with episodes like Space Invader, Attention Deficit, and them, and I don’t know what they were thinking here. And the fact that she didn’t learn anything DESPITE meeting supposedly one of her heroes in the sports world, is just baffling to me. But overall, I agree with everything you mentioned home slice. Definitely an obnoxious episode, and it’s definitely one I’m not replaying anytime soon. Very good review, and I hope you have a good day today.❤️😊
An episode about Lynn Jr. and her obsession with Sy Superstition could have been really good. It is a good idea, but this episode executed it very badly and just made Lynn look bad.
Oh heck yeah, I definitely agree with you with this being Lynn’s worst episode. It’s also one of my absolute least favorites both in season 4 and the whole show. In regards to Lynn herself, she was completely annoying and insufferable in this episode. For her to be so obsessed and insistent about her completely ludicrous and tedious good luck rituals was so grating and annoying. Especially with how she was making Lincoln, Lynn Sr, and Luan suffer because of them, even when she was kicked out. To make matters worst, even when her Hockey idol told her that sports are totally unpredictable and that you shouldn’t be so superstitious, Lynn still doesn’t learn her gosh darn lesson! To think season 4 actually had both Lynn’s best and worst episodes in the whole show within the same season. 1/10
the good news is that is better than “no such luck” (not that that’s saying much) the bad news is that Lynn is annoying in it and is still too dependent on rituals. I had rituals for Pittsburgh Steeler football games but I knew that they didn’t impact the game in any way, it was just a fun way of being part of the game. I know that character development is hard but Lynn should be better than this. in the image you uploaded yesterday morning you said this was Lynn’s worse episode and yeah it just might be. While there are certainly many episodes both before and after this where she has let her competitive/ need to win nature get the best of her, most of those either were more relatable or were funnier than this or at the VERY lest had her realize what she was doing was wrong earlier which made it more bearable to watch. 4/10
Gonna be honest, if Lynn learned to ease off on the superstitions I'd give this ep a 4/5, but with Lynn not learning anything, yeah that was missing an empty net goal. Also this is a nitpick, but missed opportunity to have a Detroit Red Wing as the special guest cameo and wonder why they got a Maple Leaf when they're one of Detroit's biggest rivals. With all that said, I give this ep a 1/5, annoying and a waste of time. Peace Out Homeslice
I’d give this episode 5/10. Not great or god awful. Just mid. It is awesome that they got Kyle Clifford who won 2 Stanley Cups with the Kings to guess star in the episode.
The Casagrandes episode, Bend It Like Abuelo did this premise much more better. Hector is mostly a bad character in the spin off but even he knows how to give good charm to his favorite time compare to Lynn’s extreme sports superstitions.
You say she didn’t learn to not be superstitious, just from the basis of the ending, except Lynn actually has stopped being superstitious in the recent seasons after this episode, so she actually did learn this lesson.
@@animeknight8958 fool me twice is his lowest rated episode of the entire series. That one got a 1 out of 10. There were also other episodes rated lower like it's a loud loud loud loud house, brawl in the family and no such luck and friends in dry places. But I gave this a episode a 0.
Yeah, this episode is definitely one of the worst episodes of Lynn ever I could not stand her in this episode She went way too overboard with her superstition for a hockey game because she said it would be bad luck for the team and I felt bad for every character in this episode, her family, and even the security guard and that’s a shame because hockey is my favorite sport of all time and I really wanted to like this episode but I just can’t because of Lynn and how they handle hockey itself is not a huge problem I have in this episode it was handled pretty poorly. It is completely unrealistic. They do stuff and that would be illegal in real life. I really want the show to make another hockey episode but after this episode, I’m not sure about that yes
God, this episode... THIS is right where I started to have my questions not just on LJ, but on the show as a whole. Like, the fact that Good Sports premiered not even a year before to this one.. "Writers... What were you smoking?" No seriously, this is what I felt. Doesn't help that this episode premiered during *the* time of our greatest need (That one being to survive literally). Like, LJ in this one is just at her absolute worst, as well as being again the questionable character of the show. Plus, not even the other characters that you genuinely feel bad for save the episode. AND DON'T EVEN START WITH THE SUPERSTITIONS! Yea I know that there are some kind of superstitions (I mean, look at the Joey Logano even year in NASCAR and New England/Kansas City + refs thing, things that I don't believe in anyway) and whatnot of the episode itself, BUT THEN AGAIN, THE FACT THAT LJ DOESN'T LEARN from her mistakes is just mind breaking, not just mind puzzling. Overall: Yeah, what else is there to be said? Like, seriously. This episode was just another one of those that make you question the writing of the show, and the direction the crew went for. As for final score, just 2/10
I personally thought this episode wasn't that bad when I first saw it, but after some time, I realized in retrospect that this episode is pretty bad. Lynn acts like a terror in this episode and gets lauded for it, while Fern gets treated like the bad guy just for doing her job. Not to mention, that moment with Lori felt really mean-spirited.
To me, this episode just reaffirmed my belief that Lynn truly is *the* most controversial member of the Loud family. Depending on her role, people will either really love her or absolutely despise her... sadly, I don't even think most of her hard-core fans liked this episode. 😐 If there was one word to describe this episode for me, it would be ANNOYING. It's Lynn going overboard with good luck rituals and then learning absolutely nothing from it. I'd argue Luan and Lincoln being in this episode is also _extremely_ pointless. They could have been replaced by her other siblings or even her friends and nothing would change. I can't believe they wasted an actual hockey player's voice acting talent for this.
Where do I start with this episode?! Sorry for sounding like a broken record, but On Thin Ice marks the worst appearance of Lynn Jr. in the series. She is absolutely obnoxious about her hockey superstitions. Speaking of which, many of her superstitions are absolutely horrible, from stuffing the family van with jars full of dead jellyfish, to dressing hotdogs with powdered sugar and funnel cakes with mustard, and stuffing herself and the family members doomed to accompany her in the same sweater and farting inside it, it's absolutely no wonder why her family loathes her superstitions. And even if Lynn Jr. is absent, she obligates her family to perform a whole list of good-luck rituals in her absence. Speaking of which, Stern Fern, the security guard in this episode, would be considered another character I felt bad for, as she was forced to put up with Lynn Jr's shenanigans. It's a miracle that Lynn Jr. never brought any zebras inside the stadium, or anything else that could be life-threatening. I would also have my blood boiling if I was put in the same position as Fern. Later as Lynn Jr. assumed the worst, she was informed that the Jellyfish won the game. Rowdy McQuads informed her that superstitions aren't the deciding factor, and the unpredictable outcome is what makes watching hockey fun. But somehow, that lesson wasn't drilled into her thick skull, and she only becomes less superstitious in very specific circumstances. It may not be the worst Loud House episode, but it's still Lynn Jr's worst appearance, along with wasted voice talent from Kyle Clifford and I would certainly steer clear from this episode that ruined hockey for the Loud House. 2/10, now if you excuse me, I am now have to remind Riley Andersen from Inside Out to stay away from this icy mess.
Compared to No Such Luck, On Thin Ice was tame, in my opinion. At least Lynn got punished for her superstitious behaviour by being locked in a cell, even though she still gets what she wanted during the ending.
I still don't understand how Nickelodeon believes The Loud House was gonna save their studio from the dark ages (downfall since 2011, or possibly 2009), or it being popular after SpongeBob, and the reason I said that was because of not only the stereotypes of Lincoln's 10 sisters, along with the unnecessary live action spin off due to how awful the christmas movie turned out, but because of a few episodes with so many bad writing before things gotten worse since season 4, in other words, the first bad episode started with Heavy Meddle, there are a few more during seasons 1-3. Also, I don't blame those who think Lynn's the worst since her personality involved so many stereotypes to athletes, and again, why does the writers need to turn her into a maniac on Packing Day? We can all agree that those people in charge of The Loud House, or Nickelodeon in general, aren't exactly good writers or producers/animators.
This episode has butchered Lynn Loud Jr.'s character, and I do not wish to discuss superstitious nonsense. There are so many superstitious sports luck involving LJ, but the studio needs to stop producing such superstitious content. I never want to watch it in the future.
Do you agree with this being Lynn’s worst episode? If not, which other episode would you consider her worst?
Reply to this comment!
Easily No Such Luck takes the cake for me, regardless of how obvious it is. Hated how they did her character there.
I would say it's her worst SOLO episode. But if we're including episode where she's part of the ensemble with the rest of her family, I think that would go to (perhaps more obviously) No Such Luck, Taunting Hour, or A Dish Come True.

I Didn't Know That

I will admit that seeing Fern punishing Lynn Jr. for her daily antics at the hockey stadium was actually very satisfying to watch in On Thin Ice.
This episode was pretty bad, but I wouldn't say it was Lynn's worst. That goes to either NSL or Taunting Hour. Both of those episodes are borderline unwatchable.

They DID stop though, she hasn’t been superstitious in the recent seasons after On Thin Ice.

SteamTeamRedubUK, unimportant fact but Fern the security guard is voiced by the same actress who voiced Judy Neutron from Jimmy Neutron.

I like the part when Lynn gets locked in jail , that’s what she gets for the No Such Luck episode !

Lynn was a jerk to the poor surty grd by stealing and theoing her hat on the ice
