I knew John was a skateboarder!!
I will admit I'm somewhat curious as to how this plot will compare to the short story it's based on. I'm fairly sure that from the names I know who is the counterpart of whom (and thus who has roughly which role), but it's an interesting choice in-universe for John to leave in the part where Sherlock effectively doxxes Violet, just before they establish that that is exactly her problem. I certainly hope that John clears the cases with the people involved before he uploads, and therefore that he knows Violet will be in no danger of being found through the podcast episode.

Nah. This episode is trying to be TOO RIGHT and TOO MODERN. It doesn't feel authentic anymore. It feels like John and Sherlock are getting stretched and getting thinner and thinner.
it's an adaptation. even granada changed the characters to fit modern standards (ex. holmes quitting substances). they aren't going to act the same as they would if they were born in 1800's my guy. you don't gotta like it, of course. opinions are opinions :3 do what makes you happy my man
