In hot pursuit online, I had a group and we used to do what we called “last man standing” where we did hot pursuit mode with 1 cop and 7 racers and the first person who got caught would be a cop next round. Until eventually there was only 1 racer left with 7 cops chasing them. It was super intense, especially with the weapons and the jammer. Seeing this would be awesome
Hot Pursuit was never really about customization until NFS Underground came around. Hot Pursuit pretty much took the original Need for Speed idea of racing exotic cars in scenic locations while being chased by police. If Criterion can replicate that idea then, in my opinion, it would be a great update.
Same here. It’s one of my fav along with nfs the run. There’s just something cool about being a cop taking down racers. Also I do believe when the update cops and robbers inspired by hot pursuit they will totally bring some custom cop cars in the speed pass to drive around in the open world.
I'm glad NFS is going back to their roots. Absolutely love the classic NFS. You should try out the games previous to NFSMW05, especially HP1 and HP2 (PS2)
Adding lightbars and whatnot to the Corvettes, Hellcat, and F150 raptor are very possible in the next update. I’m very excited, as maybe more variations (cop cars) and harder AI cops may make the game on par with Heats cops (if not then Rivals), although I would like pursuit tech but that’s a bit too much. If that returns (player) cops should utilize helicopters and roadblocks and racers a turbo and a jammer. More gauntlet events would be nice too.
I think the tech should be locked behind events, so if you get into a C&R event you get the tech to bust the robbers, but outside events in freeroam all you do is play along with the people who want to play C&R with the tech disabeld.
Come on bruh, Hot Pursuit 2010 is objectively one of the best, most polished, and fun NFS games. Love customization, but you also gotta appreciate different takes on what makes a racing game. After all, customization wasn't truly there until Underground.
Very true. Customisation doesnt make sense in a Hot Pursuit game anyway, its purely just really fast cars in mountain/desert/forest areas with long roads. I dont understand people who want customisation in those games. Its not a urban setting.

I’d love to see them bring back the Most Wanted mode where you have one racer marked as the “Most Wanted” that all the cops have to try and take out, while the other racers have to help the Most Wanted escape. It’s my favourite mode from Hot Pursuit Remastered, so I really hope that they bring it back.
Theo if you think HP10 is disappointing because of the lack of customization then you're missing the point of the game it has a very delicate balance of all the car rooster and unique handling for each car if it had performance upgrades then the balance would've been thrown out of the window, and lower class cars could've competed with higher class the point of the game is to make you feel the difference between cars in their "from factory" state, and pick one that suits you the most

The Hot Pursuit update needs to give us playlists with possibilities of up to 8 v 8 with 8 cops vs 8 racers. Or have it like a linkup event, where 8 racers start the linkup and periodically more of the 8 cops are allowed in to stop the racers from completing the linkup. Or maybe just straight up 8 cops start the linkup at the same time as the racers. As racers you could get special rewards for completing the linkup, while as the cops could get bonus upgrades to their cop cars to make it more fun to play as the cops.
They should add Crosses Corvette (Z06 because the C6 not in modern games) from most wanted. It can be a boss like they did with Racer X or be in the Speed Pass.
I would love to see the Lamborghini Diablo and Murcielago return as police cars in the game as it would be a perfect throwback to NFS III Hot Pursuit from 1998 and Hot Pursuit 2 from 2002. Imagine if Criterion took inspiration from the early original Hot Pursuit games as that was the time before weapons were introduced into Hot Pursuit 2010 and Rivals. In the older Hot Pursuit games, there were no weapons, but you can call in backup units to assist in a pursuit or request helicopters, roadblocks, and spike strips. These features are present in Unbound and if you can play as a cop, you can have these resources available to assist in busting street racers. This update could potentially mean we can drive the police cars that are currently present in the game and it would be cool if there are pursuit versions of cars already in the game.
if we have powers, it should be what hot pursuit was, but with the emp replaced with the ability to call in reinforcements that triggers the usual timer
Call me a cynic, I’m getting a sense of u wanting the update to cater to your direction, but then there’s me, who also wants the update to cater to my direction: being bone stock performance-ish and only have an ability to call for backup or press certain buttons for certain commands
While I’m an Underground-Most Wanted fan, I’ve been looking forward to the Hot Pursuit Update and a cops vs robber mode. I wouldn’t mind seeing a similar cops vs robbers mode from NFS Undercover return which was always fun and an underrated Multiplayer game mode.
Hot pursuit has closed tracks designed for racing on, I don't know how difficult this would be to implement but it would be pretty cool to have HP-style races on maps not part of Lakeshore. Would possibly play a bit better for some types of race
Am sucker for weapons in need for speed and i genuinely miss them bening in need for speed is such cool concept and generally fun, but I definitely agree the weapons can ruin other people races, drifting events etc. But here's the thing the weapons can work as long the restrict it only for the cops vs racers events so that way you can have a balanced game without worrying it will affect the gameplay of the other people
they could split the lobbies to ones with weapons enabled and disabled. And it would be interesting if they added more extreme weapons than Rivals, just as they did from HP to Rivals

For the next update I think the devs should have the players experience the update in single player like certain events you can do to unlock cop cars to use in new events for example. I also think they should allow the player. I'm not trying to be unfairly critical but to after completing the career to give us the option of what time or day we can go out if the garage. I think for playing as a cop maybe having gadgets but in missions only that require them and not for free roam. Maybe the racers should have in certain events but only in events where you need to escape the cops like super burst nitrous or turbo but only in those events. The only gadget that police should have is calling in roadblocks and helicopters. The road blocks could include spike strips. Maybe the gadgets should be upgradable depending on the level of the racer or suspect you need to bust. Those are just things that I think in my opinion should be included with the new update that could pay homage to hot pursuit 2010. Take care blackpanthaa.
I remember it was always the case... NFS1 had cops, NFS2 didn't, then NFS3: Hot Pursuit as well as Hot Pursuit 2 had them (and playable), and in Underground 1 and 2 they were gone again. Cops are a very irregular feature in this series :D
To build off of this they could do two playlists one where you unlock cop cars and one where you unlock decked out street racer cars, do the cops the way you talked about and for the decked out cars you start out with a basic heat level to go and retrieve them and the heat increases as you retrieve them going from one side of the map to the other (obv have to do challenges before getting the opportunity to do this) would be cool to see new cars introduced as cars to achieve and have the final one as a very cool car like a Dodge demon, Lykan HyperSport, Toyota Supra etc. (just naming examples doesn’t have to be any of these cars)
As for the unbound cop races I do them online because it makes me feel like I have to try. I'm glad we can do playlist solo online now but I wish there was more ai racers or even a rival cop like how cross would chase us around if there was someone to fear that comes out after being in heat 5 for a certain time. Unbound just feels so empty when your doing playlist alone 1/1 with no need to try and win
Grew up with NFS:HP2. To me. “Be the cops or beat the cops.” Has always been and always will be the epitome of nfs. Before all the underground bs was popular. Been pissed that you can’t play as cops since 2015.
I hope this update gets a good reception cuz man I want a new Hot Pursuit (2010) type game so bad. It was my first NFS and what got me really into cars and car history and racing games.
The last time that they had a Cops vs. Racers mode proper, to my knowledge, was in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (the PS2 version). My favorite NFS game next to Most Wanted 05. There was also one in Hot Pursuit 2012, but I didn't really like that one too much. I'd love to see that mode showcased before the update so people can see what I'm talking about because I think it's a bit underrated and not talked about enough as a NFS game.
Tbh, I preferred if they take NFS HP2 instead as inspiration. Relying driving skill to dodging cops is the best instead of using weapon to fight with them like NFS HP 2010.

Great video!! I'm always hyped for a new update in Unbound, i'm so impressed with what they done the last 2 updates. A cops and robbers themed update with new modes and hopefully as you mentioned new free roam activities (they really needa hire you lol) sounds like a banger to me. This would add so much to the game, just like the last update did!!!
I dunno, I think they should keep it relatively simple but do it well. Minimal bugs and as level a playing field as possible on both sides. There could be a mechanic in changing teams i.e. a small section of the map enclosed in an event in which one cop to start chases down a bunch of racers, when one is tagged that user respawns as a cop. Within a particular race I think some form of highway run in which a loop of highway is chosen for a high speed chase through heavier traffic. Just something simple but efficient, and offer some form of progression system that doesn’t feel so easy.
I really hope it's a cop vs racer update but as players . Along with the return of high heat races and just a better overall cop experience. Also you should go play nfs hot puersuit 2 on ps2
What I am expecting in vol. 8 is actually weapons. They where funny in hot pursuit, nice in rivals. The only problem of this feature is that it needs to he balanced. So the weapons should be of limited use and no SPAM. Also I really wanna see an option to let me free roam as cop and chase all the freeroam racers, like in Rivals. Yeah, you can say I enjoyed Rivals.
I mean Calling All Units from the crew kinda already solved the problem of weapons only available if the player engaged in a pursuit activity i think criterion could use the same idea because i doubt that the motorfest cops update will probably just be similar to what they have in the crew 2
Need for speed had a history of Cops vs Racers MP but if we specifically get Criterion/Ghost games' History 1. Burnout Paradise had the PCPD DLC. where you play cops vs Robbers. its a team effort kind of deal. 2. NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 (and its remaster) allows you to play either. but the most memorable MP is mostly 1v1. I rarely see MP hot pursuit game modes with players on both sides, but I might have not watched enough... 3. NFS Rivals had its entire All-drive MP on this idea. you can join an ongoing race as a cop and try to shut it down. and that was the last time we see criterion/ghost games did that. that was like, what? 2013? if they're bringing it back, it's likely at LEAST the burnout paradise Cops vs Robbers. with the addition of Calling choppers and Roadblocks It would be wild if they suddenly show up with pursuit weapons. like EMP and mobile spikes. that would be a MASSIVE change in gameplay as a cop.

Funny enough if I had the option to be able to add something to the update I would probably add something that would be Need for Speed. Like like maybe a heat 10 mode from Rivals where if you press a button when your heat level five, you will be able to go five extra levels with the existing cars getting a buff in some way or form and maybe introducing new vehicles that will really spice up the challenge oh and by the way it's going to be like Need for Speed Rivals where the cops almost feel endless on the final heat level. So good luck with that. And the best part it's completely optional. You don't even have to press The button to turn it on. You can just play with pure heat 5 and you don't need to go into those extra five heat levels as they're a complete option to you if you want to risk a little bit more and then just you your money you earned (probably from a link up)
I have a feeling that Criterion is keeping a close eye on the numbers between Underground and Hot Pursuit updates and the result will determine the future of the franchise
The problem is that people nowadays look at extensive customization as a feature, not as an extra. For example, NFS Unbound and Burnout Paradise - Customization doesn't make Unbound the better game does it? It's the core gameplay that makes Burnout the better pick.
I love hot pursuit . i still play it on ps3 pretty often. I also have the remaster on ps4 but the ps3 version is slightly better imo. Thanks for the video

I suspect that the creators will do it on a PvP basis in vol. 6 (a separate racing mode that you can join). I'm just curious if the pass will include a police car, e.g. Officer Shaw's Camaro Z28 with need for speed heat. I'm curious whether it will be possible to drive only cars used by the police in the game, i.e. Dodge Charger, Chevy Camaro, etc. or whether it will be possible to drive cars like the Lamborghini Aventador
Ngl if they had more types of cops for more variety like the ram from heat that would be sick to. Maybe even another heat level like 6. If someone gets to heat level 6 then you have the opportunity to use your cop car and help the police take down that player as well 🤷
I still remember in nfs rivals as u progress you the racer steals a koenigsegg cop car so what if in Unbound you steal cop cars and keep it for yourself kinda thinking of the Underground league route but you don't race the cars you steal the cop cars And for cars I would love to see the koenigsegg ccxr edition and lamborghini sesto elemento from nfs hot pursuit

I play.both NSF hot pursuit remastered and unbound. Hot pursuit is fun, alot players go online xbox pc playstation and Nintendo switch players and you dont have to play as a cop if you don't want to theres different modes. My favorite mode is hyper series race and most wanted in exotic or hyper. Im top rank 21 as a cop and racer. Lets see what this update offers in unbound.

I'd love to see that mode showcased before the update so people can see what I'm talking about because I think it's a bit underrated and not talked about enough as a NFS game.

Tbh, I preferred if they take NFS HP2 instead as inspiration. Relying driving skill to dodging cops is the best instead of using weapon to fight with them like NFS HP 2010.

NFS Hot Pursuit 2 (PS2) is my favorite game ever so I'm pretty excited for the next update!
I recently bought the Remaster Hot Pursuit because it was on a very good sale.
If you don't read this, Theo, since there's going to be Hot Pursuit update, then there should be a heat level 10 update! That would be more exciting for Hot Pursuit!

If a cops & robbers mode is coming, I also hope that we can get access to the cop parts on certain cars and the addition of the older gen chargers and explorers that are in the game. It would be a pretty cool idea but that's just me

A cops and robbers themed update with new modes and hopefully as you mentioned new free roam activities (they really needa hire you lol) sounds like a banger to me.

I dunno, I think they should keep it relatively simple but do it well. Minimal bugs and as level a playing field as possible on both sides.
There could be a mechanic in changing teams i.e. a small section of the map enclosed in an event in which one cop to start chases down a bunch of racers, when one is tagged that user respawns as a cop.
Within a particular race I think some form of highway run in which a loop of highway is chosen for a high speed chase through heavier traffic.
Just something simple but efficient, and offer some form of progression system that doesn’t feel so easy.
I really hope it's a cop vs racer update but as players . Along with the return of high heat races and just a better overall cop experience. Also you should go play nfs hot puersuit 2 on ps2

What I am expecting in vol. 8 is actually weapons. They where funny in hot pursuit, nice in rivals. The only problem of this feature is that it needs to he balanced. So the weapons should be of limited use and no SPAM. Also I really wanna see an option to let me free roam as cop and chase all the freeroam racers, like in Rivals. Yeah, you can say I enjoyed Rivals.
I mean Calling All Units from the crew kinda already solved the problem of weapons only available if the player engaged in a pursuit activity i think criterion could use the same idea because i doubt that the motorfest cops update will probably just be similar to what they have in the crew 2

but if we specifically get Criterion/Ghost games' History
1. Burnout Paradise had the PCPD DLC. where you play cops vs Robbers. its a team effort kind of deal.
2. NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 (and its remaster) allows you to play either. but the most memorable MP is mostly 1v1.
I rarely see MP hot pursuit game modes with players on both sides, but I might have not watched enough...
3. NFS Rivals had its entire All-drive MP on this idea. you can join an ongoing race as a cop and try to shut it down.
and that was the last time we see criterion/ghost games did that.

They REALLY need to add more single player content. I dont know why NONE of this is avaible for offline?
Funny enough if I had the option to be able to add something to the update I would probably add something that would be Need for Speed. Like like maybe a heat 10 mode from Rivals where if you press a button when your heat level five, you will be able to go five extra levels with the existing cars getting a buff in some way or form and maybe introducing new vehicles that will really spice up the challenge oh and by the way it's going to be like Need for Speed Rivals where the cops almost feel endless on the final heat level. So good luck with that. And the best part it's completely optional. You don't even have to press The button to turn it on. You can just play with pure heat 5 and you don't need to go into those extra five heat levels as they're a complete option to you if you want to risk a little bit more and then just you your money you earned (probably from a link up)
I love Hot Pursuit. Playing as a cop it's just too much fun for me
I hope they add the 2014 Charger R/T, the 2013 police interceptor sedan/utility and lightbars and stuff for the Z/28, Corvette GS and F-150
Regarding pursuit techs, they can implement the system where you can't use some in a certain mode. Like in NFS World

I have a feeling that Criterion is keeping a close eye on the numbers between Underground and Hot Pursuit updates and the result will determine the future of the franchise
The problem is that people nowadays look at extensive customization as a feature, not as an extra. For example, NFS Unbound and Burnout Paradise - Customization doesn't make Unbound the better game does it? It's the core gameplay that makes Burnout the better pick.
I love hot pursuit . i still play it on ps3 pretty often. I also have the remaster on ps4 but the ps3 version is slightly better imo. Thanks for the video

C mon dude Rivals are not that BAD ,If you dont like everyone is chasing you then make it restricted like an event where you hunt Racers in some time period ,hell gather two teas one Cops and one Racers ,They help each other to hunt us we help each other to get free and for the love of god pls add fast police hyper cars not just a freaking corvette.
Maybe just like how u hit an ai you could hit a register player cop car an initiate the chase. This allows players to play both sides

from his old police department, and he's running from them because they are corrupted,
and you have to enlist your own racer armada to fight against the corrupted cops

They better bring the cars that were based on the Modern Hot Pursuit/Remastered as well as Rivals. From the Aston Martin One-77 to the Lamborghini Veneno.

I suspect that the creators will do it on a PvP basis in vol. 6 (a separate racing mode that you can join). I'm just curious if the pass will include a police car, e.g. Officer Shaw's Camaro Z28 with need for speed heat. I'm curious whether it will be possible to drive only cars used by the police in the game, i.e. Dodge Charger, Chevy Camaro, etc. or whether it will be possible to drive cars like the Lamborghini Aventador

Ngl if they had more types of cops for more variety like the ram from heat that would be sick to. Maybe even another heat level like 6. If someone gets to heat level 6 then you have the opportunity to use your cop car and help the police take down that player as well 🤷
I still remember in nfs rivals as u progress you the racer steals a koenigsegg cop car so what if in Unbound you steal cop cars and keep it for yourself kinda thinking of the Underground league route but you don't race the cars you steal the cop cars
And for cars I would love to see the koenigsegg ccxr edition and lamborghini sesto elemento from nfs hot pursuit

I play.both NSF hot pursuit remastered and unbound. Hot pursuit is fun, alot players go online xbox pc playstation and Nintendo switch players and you dont have to play as a cop if you don't want to theres different modes. My favorite mode is hyper series race and most wanted in exotic or hyper. Im top rank 21 as a cop and racer. Lets see what this update offers in unbound.
